Next time you plan a trip to Southern Austria, or Northern Italy, think about the fascinating Südtirol (Alto Adige). The people here are extremely proud of having their own identity. Where the mix of Teutonic efficiency, Austrian charm, Italian passion and love of good food and wine comes together in a great little melting pot. This was a week of relaxation, away from everyday life. The Familie Goller have an amazing way with their guests, and they are always so welcoming. Their passion for what they do is clear. Even with all the masks, hand gel and social distancing during these crazy covid times, we really enjoyed our stay. The village of St Andrea is delightful, quiet and well serviced by the bus route twenty minutes down the hill to the centre of Brixen(Bressanone) [or by Taxi for about €25] and only five minutes up to the cable car for Mount Plose, at 2050m. Outside of ski season, this is a great place for a view of the northernmost point of the Dolomites, with long walks, fresh air, or for those that enjoy adrenaline, downhill mountain biking or the slightly more family friendly descent on a mountain kart. These independent hotels are the ones that have suffered the most during the times of covid-19. Please support them, and in particular very special family run hotels like the Gasserhof. We will be back next year!

The Goller-team (family) understands hospitality and we love to stay at the Gasserhof! Despite the smaller ski-area (Plose) even our teenager kids prefer to stay in St Andrea in stead of somewhere in Austria, France or Val Gardena.

We stayed for a long weekend and had an absolutely fabulous stay. The place is clean and well kept, the food was absolutely amazing, but the staff is the true diamond of this place: we were made to feel so welcome and special it was greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
