Schlosshotel Kittendorf is a treasure! My family and I were lucky enough to stay for two nights, enjoying the culinary experience in the restaurant both nights. The service is welcoming, kind, and genuine. The rooms are clean and have lots of charm. Hope to return one day!
We booked a three day, two night package, including a three course dinner for one night, breakfast both mornings, the room and two tickets for a boat cruise on the Müritz, as well as the use of the spa facilities. The castle is beautiful and in a fairly good condition. Rooms are a mix of modern and classic furniture and quite spacious. The spa facilities are small but sufficient - during our stay we only met two other visitors in the sauna (for a hotel with 45 beds in total). Breakfast was ok - although on the second day at 9 am there was not much of a selection to chose from - bread, jam, fruits - the staff did not refill the buffet, despite one more hour of breakfast serving time. Overall, the service was "relaxed" - both in a good way - not too obstrusive - but also in a bad way - one had to point out missing "equipment" such as missing napkins, silverware, towels. The three course dinner decent, but not over the top, the setting of the dining room is beautiful. Selection of wine was ok and fitted well to the food. The food itself was uninspired - therefore we went elsewhere the second night. We probably would stay there again, but without the dinner option.…
The hotel offers a very relaxing and quaint ambiance. The suites are spacious and comfortable. The gardens, originally designed by Peter Josef Lenné gives you an idea of a typical prussian classical garden. Very nice to just sit back relax and enjoy the scenery. The hotel also offers bike tours and picnic lunches. A must, if you want to explore the lovely surroundings. There is also a "wellness" and spa area which I found small but still met its needs.
This is a hidden gem - in beautiful unspoilt country this place is well worth seeking out. This is our 6th visit from London in 3 years and we continue to enjoy returning here. It is simple but classy, and both relaxed and yet very well put together. The staff are charming, the food is simple, but well thought through and consistently good. It is like staying in a private house and you get to wander the grounds, rooms and enjoy yourself completely at your pace. There is so much to explore around the area and we continue to find new things to go and see and enjoy. 1.5/2hrs from Tegel airport and simple to get to.
Really enjoyed our weekend here. The "Schloss" is lovingly restored and maintained well. Particularly the Orangerie with its neo-classical style is a must to see. The gardens and estate grounds have a romantic character to it, and it is a nice opportunity for a lazy afternoon stroll. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff are very friendly and outgoing. The food is great. The only setback is you have to drive a bit to the nearest lake, or to the next castle. But that isnt really a problem if you came by car, which will probably be the case. I highly recommend this hotel. Its worth it.
