Standing on the raised wooden deck of Savuti, one is able to marvel at the phenomenon of nature at work. Just beneath this remote safari camp flows the enigmatic Savute Channel, until recently a dry grassland. In 2008, the waters returned and as a result game concentrations are particularly high in the dry winter season. A thatched main area and viewing deck take in the scene, while exploring the length of the Savute and its associated woodlands by boat or vehicle is a highlight here. • 7 tents (1 family) • day and night game drives • guided walks • boating • hides

Savuti Camp, Mar 29 - Apr 1 The small aircraft for our flight to Savuti was early but the takeoff was aborted because of a problem with the brakes. So, we waited an hour and half for the airline to bring in another aircraft. Our Savuti room was the largest and most luxurious of

Dear Nicole W, Thank you for your review, we are glad to hear that after the initial upset with the water problems your stay with us did turn out for the better. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your game drives with Willie, and although only a few memorable sightings they sound like wonderful experiences. We will be sure to pass along your praises to the kitchen team for the fabulous menu. Thank you again Wilderness Safaris

Dear Casagatto, Thank you for your wonderful review and kind words, we will be sure to share this with Goodman and all the staff in camp. The wild dogs have definitely been the predator of the moment, showing off at every corner. Recently they were spotted on so many occasions that some first-timer guests would never have realised, if the staff hadn’t been so excited, how lucky they were to see these precious and highly endangered animals. A pack of six dogs pulled down a magnificent male kudu right in camp, underneath the star deck. For two days the dogs hung around in front of camp, feasting on the kudu. This also caught the eye of our resident hyaena, One-eye, who in the night dragged it out from underneath the deck into the open channel. To see what these wonderful animals get up to next take a look at the Savuti blog on the Wilderness Safaris website. The Team at Savuti

Thank you Penne’ D, for your great review and kind words. We are so glad you got a chance to see our pride of wild dogs and hope they behaved well – like the unruly pups they are – giving you brilliant photos. Although the river is, for now, drier than usual, we continue to offer amazing game drive experiences and full day trips as well as bush dinners and bush brunches for our guests. We are always delighted to receive impressed guests’ feedback and we are determined to give them the best service ever. Thank you again, The Team at Savuti

Are ther hair dryers?
Hello Leslie, Due to our environmental and sustainability efforts our camps are powered by Solar panels or generators and we are unfortunately unable to supply or allow hair dryers to be used as this would drain too much electricity. There are a couple of camps that are able to do so but you would need to contact your Travel Agent for a full list of these. Thank you for the question and we look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Africa soon.

Thank you Gloria for contacting us. Savuti Camp and all Wilderness Safaris Camps in Botswana accommodate children with the age restriction being 6 years and older. Several of our camps (Savuti included) even have family rooms available; Family accommodation is generally designed to sleep 2 adults and 2 children of 16 years and younger. This accommodation may have one shared bathroom and a smaller second bedroom or two separate rooms linked by a boardwalk or deck. To find out more detailed breakdown of which camps have family rooms we would advise you to contact your Travel Agent as they will have all this information as well as a full break down regarding our Child Policies. Including; Bookings with children 12 years and younger can only be confirmed if a private vehicle/guide are available and have been booked for activities. And there are no formal child care services in our camps and thus children must be under the care of their parent/s and/or guardian/s at all times. It is very important that you confirm all this with your agent before booking your trip. Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you and your family in camp.
