Hotel Aphrodite Palace /former hotel Velka Fatra/ has been opened in April 2014. It offers its guests 111 rooms in various categories. The hotel has an accurate location, right in the center of the spa town. The complete reconstruction lasted two years. The hotel, hotel Aphrodite, the Spa center and outdoor and indoor Water world are connected with a glass bridge. The breathtaking restaurant and lobby, decorated with marble, onyx and 24-carat gold, are dominating the new hotel. The a la carte concept of APHRODITE PALACE restaurant was set together under the supervision of Marian Filo, chief, who served meals for the British or Dutch queen. New trends of the international gastronomy as well as the traditional domestic specialties are being prepared here.

Stayed for 5 days on half board basis. Our initial room was small and noisy so had to change it. Overall the hotel and its rooms are poor quality with very tacky and dated decor. Some might like the artificial blink (those who do mainly came for weekend stay and could be spotted from miles away...also provided us with a great entertainment just for purely watching them "owning the place"). Anyway, dated, tacky and artificial. Room comfort terrible. Bed quality linenes, rubbish bed and furniture. Not even a bottle of water provided in rooms..very much an international standard of 4 star hotels now. Toiletries provided in room were decent tho. The food in hotel was surprisingly good with a good variety of choice. The best part of our stay for sure. The hotel management has lost the plot with their pricing structure tho...glass of rubbish wine €8! 250ml own brand water €3.50! Double expresso €6.80! Shocking beverage prices which are the same in each bar and restaurant. This alone has put us off from staying in this tacky Palace ever again. Spa access good...if your wrist watch works. Procedures reasonably booked. Was bored in the spa by day 2 tho. Nothing to do. Don't stay here. If its a Status you are after like many who did, fair enough. Otherwise take your money to other accommodation options in town and buy day Pass to Spa...you will save tonnes. This hotel is far from 4 stars, we don't recommend it and won't stay here again. Ps: the reception staff has English flag on their uniform to indicate they speak the language...aside from 2, none of the others did. shame. Jakub extremely rude and should not work on reception.

Room Tip: Avoid Friday and Saturday night. Too busy tacky performance shows in dining room.

A positive feature - the hotel is connected to the spa with healing thermal water and you get free access to the whole spa when stayig at the hotel and book trough the hotel directly. Negatives: overpriced for what it is and for the service/quiality they provide! I have visited before and the quality of food in the restaurant deteriorated sooo much. It is the shame to charge the price for what you get! Moreover, the evening bufet is not suitable for vegetarian/vegan persons! No vegetarian main course! Service unprofessional - hired Ukrainian servers, who do not speak and understand Slovak and I doubt that they would understand English. Moreover, they are not properly trained in service. The life music at dinner was a shame- cannot sing! A lot of gytch around the whole hotel. Parking far. The pillow in the bed soft, no choice of pillows. Much overpriced - including massages, rolm service etc. They misuse the monopoly position on the healing water they have! Even though I was a regular, will not visit again! The hotel Aphrodite is interconnected - the same restaurant znd spa areas.

On the outside of the Aphrodite palace it says 5* hotel; on the front door 4* this it might be! This is all glitter - several kg of gold was used to decorate the dinning room and other public areas. The dinner was 4 course all buffet - not what one would expect for 58! The service in the dinning room was at the best poor. The bedrooms were nice - but the extraction fan in the bathroom failed on our first day, reported to reception - not dealt with by the time we departed one week later. Car parking was a muddy field ~ 150 m from the hotel. Porterage was good. They required payment ion check-in and balance on leaving - no proper printed receipt!

Very nice rooms, building, view. I appreciate everything is in one style. Antic but modern. I just missed space for drying wet towels. Amazing food and continental breakfast. Pools and Wellness is in other building.

Outstanding! The owner knows how a great place and service should look like. We've spent several nights in the Presidential apartment for a 3rd time in last two years. We will definitely come back again.

This is a new building, which substituted Velka Fatra. I want to attract the attention to its restaurant. Lunch is very well organized. there is a great variety of meals. Especially I recommend dessert. Wonderful! Delicious! Always fresh!

We decided to go at the beggining of the week (Sun-Tue) because all weekends in May was fully booked already. We get the room which was really nice, new furniture in old style, all in white-gold colour. Our room has balcony big almost as room :). Bathroom was very clean, that is really important for me so I was satisfied. It was on the second floor, where from is the way to the wellness entry. Pools, saunas, breakfast, deserve 5stars. We felt very comfortable. The only disturbing thing was the behavior of staff in SPA, there were two very young brunette girls that laught loudly, hunted rescuer and listen loudly videos from smartphone. I warned them after 30 minutes of their "fun" but their raction was very phlegmatic :) Unfortunately the Warning at each SPA doors that people should respect each other and should be quiet do not apply for them. Other staff was very kind and helpful. Thank you for unforgetable stay. We would like to repeat it as soon as possible ;)

I really enjoyed my time in the SPA part, amazing new world for me. Wast offer of saunas (tried them all) with very nice procedures going on. However, I got really disappointed when I could not find my Aphrodite's towel coming back to the hanger and I got to pay the fee (5 eur extra) for loosing it. How can you loose the towel there, my question here. Is this place really in need of money even after paying 28 eur per 3 hours stay? Unfortunately this experience destroyed all the relaxation before.
