We stayed for 2 days and that was too short. Lunch was more then fantastic and diner was great. Rooms were good but what is wrong with these Sicilian matrasses. Swimmingpool and breakfast were great but the food people, just go and visit for the food.

This was described as a typical traditional Sicilian lunch accompanied by local wines. The wine maker was very welcoming and he showed us his operation followed by a lunch with wine. There were only 8 of us (4 couples) on the trip and we were served a large amount of food that was all very good. The only disappointing part... More

Round trip Sicily Started our trip in Catania and stayed 3 nights at Tenuta San Michele. Excellent apartment with view on the Etna Volcano and the sea on the other side. Very friendly staff, good restaurant and delicious wines made on the Tenuta. Excellent starting point for a guided tour on Mount Etna.

We stayed in an apartment near the swimming pool. Large double bed, small kitchen, sitting area and large bathroom with bath. Good shower. We were 3 and as it was not yet busy (mid April and we noticed that most of Sicily is just getting ready for the tourist season), they offered my mother a separate room so that all... More

The meal in the restaurant proved excellent value for money with house wine and mineral water included. The staff were generally pleasant and helpful. We did not stay there for the night, we went just for lunch.Over all we enjoyed it, we will come back to try the wine testing experience.

We stayed two nights arriving from a disaster in a hotel in Taormina. The comparison could not have been more obvious. This place is clean, welcoming and in a great position,. good views out across the sea and to Etna. The food was good, the prices are exceptional for their value.

We have recently stayed in Tenuta San Michele for 2 weeks with Thomson Holidays where we had a lovely time. When we first arrived we were amazed by the beautiful views over the vineyards, the sea in the distance and Etna smoking in the background, a lovely and peaceful location. We stayed in room one, which was a large apartment... More

Mount Etna behind you, the Med in front and vineyards all around...this rural hotel and winery remains our favourite base to visit Sicily. Even more so in summer, when the island sizzles and you can kick by the pool after a day of sightseeing. Laidback, family-run business, it seems equally popular with parents of young kids as with older couples.... More

We really enjoyed our stay, just a few days but it was very nice. They are very kind, there is a beautiful swimming pool, they sell excellent food products and wines they produce themselves. You can have good dinners there, the only risk is to eat too much ;)

This Agritourismo is in fact inside a working farm of vines and olives, 43 Km from Catania airport up the mountain on the eastern slope of Mount Etna. The grounds are simply beautiful , overlooking the Ionian Sea and it is indeed a very relaxing place to stay and good base to explore Mount Etna. It only have 12 rooms... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The San Michele estate is situated on the eastern slopes of Mt Etna in the area of the village Santa Venerina, at an altitude of about 500 m over sea level and on one of the main roads that leads to the summit craters. The winery and a part of the cellars are situated in an ancient building in the typical Etna style. The new cellar was built in 1999, in an innovative structure on two levels, in perfect harmony with the surrounding countryside. It is a family winery, active since 1860. Nearby other buildings surrounded by the vines are used for tourism. All around is the wonderful panorama that goes from the Taormina promontory to Capo Mulini. Mt Etna dominates this magnificent scene towering up to its summit at 3,300 m. The vineyards are in a single area, distributed on large terraces and cover 26 hectares. ... more   less
