It’s a nice hotel with good rooms. The pool and wellness area are excellent. However, it’s the small things that prevented relaxation. The hotel is undergoing an expansion and is a major construction site. Work starts at 7 AM and you won’t need a wake-up call. Dinner is very good, while breakfast is just average. Wifi is available for free, but there is no reception on higher floors.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a short break in Arnschwang. The spa at this hotel is great, with an outdoor heated infinity pool overlooking the beautiful countryside. Stayed here during the annual Drachenstrich (Dragon slaying) festival in Furth Am Wald nearby, so the room prices were at their highest and it was the height of summer. The hotel was very busy. Stayed on a B&B basis - breakfast was very good and although we didn't eat dinner there, the restaurant and adjoining beer garden were very busy each night (with both residents and locals). This is a great location for those who enjoy the outdoor holiday with great walks and bike hire at the hotel. The hotel has been extended a couple of times, with a further extension planned next year, so it can appear to be a bit of a rabbit warren until you find you bearings. Highly recommend

We stayed at the Hotel Brunner for a night while attending an event. This hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Well its in a small town called Arnschwang but the town itself is tiny and not much around it. Cell phone reception is nearly non existent and the Wi-Fi offered by the hotel is a joke. The first impression was nice. Your typical Bavarian stay. The hotel grounds are sure very charming in the summer. I just wish it wasn’t so grey and cold when we stayed. After parking in the lot, we walked through the entrance of the hotel which turned out to be the back door. There were no signs where the reception was and after walking around for 10 minutes literally being lost, we found a hotel guest that we could ask. But we had to go outside and walk around the entire hotel to go through the restaurant where the reception is. Very confusing. Our room was lovely. It was nicely sized and the balcony was great. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. We didn’t use the wellness facilities so I cannot comment on that. Breakfast was fine and well worth the price. This was a one night stay and I don’t think we’ll be back. But the hotel overall is ok. I thought it was a bit pricey for a 3 star stay.

I spent two very uncomfortable night at this hotel. The room I was given was barely able to fit in the single bed and overlooks the roof of the kitchen and the back courtyard. At night it was extremely noisy with guests drinking and talking till way past midnight. The bed in the room was really hard with the pillows that were soft and flat, which makes sleeping rather difficult. In addition the area is infested with mosquitoes during the evening as the hotel backs onto a large pool of standing water. The hotel is also next to the local church which not only rings the bell at every half hour but it also appears they do it on random times throughout the day (ie. 8 and 46 minutes past the hour). While church bells are part of the charm of Bavaria, the ones here really grate on your nerves after a while with the random frequency. To get some sleep you have to close the only small window in the room which makes sleeping during summer in such a confine space extremely uncomfortable. The WiFi does not work in most location of the building. The hotel has potential but I probably got the worse room on the entire property. There are better rooms and value elsewhere around the area such as the Birkenhoff at Grafenwiesen!
