Third time booking a stay at the hotel. I am never disappointed by the grounds, onsite restaurant, and newly decorated rooms. One of my favorite properties because of beach access and all the amenities of an all-inclusive without their rates. No elevators to my knowledge so book lower floors if you dislike stairs. However, the upper floor provides you with more privacy and unbelievable views. The spacious balcony allows private dining and room for a nap. Looking forward to returning soon!
This is the third time we have been to Barbados the first was over 20 years ago . Was lovely to came back and this hotel is perfect. The staff were always helpful and we got a lovely bottle of bubbly in your room for our anniversary such a lovely thoughtful thing . The water sports time who are on the beach do a great job . We had lovely cool towels and a amazing spray everyday . We have had a fantastic time and hope to came back thank you everyone.
A great place to stay. Location could not have been better, right on the beach and a 5 minute walk to the main road. Lovely big rooms with kitchen area which was really useful. The reception staff were excellent, a special shout out to Rachel, Natasha and Kimberley. Their customer service was first class. Very professional and always with a smile. Vivian at the bar was very friendly and helpful. Also, the water sports team were lovely again, always with a smile. Thank you to all the team at the hotel for making it such a great holiday. First time in Barbados and we will certainly be back.
So pleased with our stay at Bougainville. Specifically with all of the exceptional customer service from Shakela, Erykah, Natasha, Darius, Roderick and Naria! We probably missed a few names, but the sentiment is service is at the forefront of what Bougainville does. We were provided with wonderful restaurant and sight seeing suggestions. Our rooms and the property overall was lovely. Quaint, picturesque and pretty. The food was okay. The drinks were more consistent. Would absolutely stay here again.
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for 10 nights with our 9 month old. The view from the room is absolutely breathtaking and the rooms are all a great size and overlooking the sea which is amazing to wake up to. We stayed in a room on the 2nd floor so only had to carry the pram down one set of stairs (note that they don't have a lift / elevator) and the room came equipped with a kitchenette that has a kettle, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and hob and more. The hotel provided a cot and highchair free of charge which was really appreciated as it meant we could feed our baby on the balcony each day. The pool area is lovely and well looked after. There were always sunbeds available so we didn't have to get up super early to get one. There is a towel hut on the beach where you can get a fresh beach towel and the guys working there were friendly. Location wise, we found it useful having a car as it is about a 25 minute walk (road route) to the bars and restaurants of St Lawrence gap. There was plenty of free parking at the hotel though so this was not an issue. Overall we thought that this was a great hotel and we would come back. …
Perfect accommodation, perfect staff, very friendly and relatively chilled. Our room was immaculately cleaned every day. Amazing breakfast with fresh fruit, bajan buffet, egg station and cereals. Although you’d expect it to be at £25+. Guys on the beach were amazingly friendly and helpful and seem to be loving their job. Nothing was too much, be it organising a game of volleyball or teaching paddle boarding or canoeing. Big shout out to Rodrick and Wayne. Restaurant staff were very friendly and well trained. Food in the restaurant is good quality and well presented, great if that is what you want but we would have preferred a little more Bajan influence. Dawn and team run a great place. I guess the best comment I can make is that we have started to look for prices for next year already. We will be back.…
Our fifth visit to a Caribbean Island and Barbados didn't disappoint. Bougainvillea Barbados is a lovely hotel and enhanced our experience of the island. We were in room 108 on the ground floor with a patio leading straight out to the pool but slightly hidden from general view. We truly cannot fault the large room and probably our best ever hotel shower and washroom. A basic kitchen area had everything needed, fridge, freezer, microwave and small cooker with all necessary cutlery etc. Air condition and two ceiling fans kept the room blissfully cool. Two pools in the hotel area and a decent sized third one just to the side and the pool bar is strictly adults only. All very clean and pleasant and plenty of comfortable sunbeds and parasols around with numerous more beach sunbeds too. There is a lovely beach side Calabash Bistro and Bar overlooking Maxwell Beach, unfortunately we weren't overly impressed with the food. Not saying it was poor, it was only average in standard and at the prices charged you'd expect a little bit more. We only had one breakfast, mine a pretty average full English at an eyewatering £17 equivalent and two evening meals the second one only because I saw a favourite Marlin on the menu, Again, nothing to get excited about so thereon we ate out every night and shopped at the supermarket for self catering breakfast of fruit weetabix, toast and tea. We loved the staff at Bougainvillea from Troy at security, the maids and the excellent reception staff. Vivian, Sonya and Shanice at the pool bar were fun and bubbly but special mention of thanks and hats off to Vivian who in his own time of an evening took us both out to one of the sights of the area at Bridgetown. Pay rise or bonus must surely be forthcoming! And finally on to the beach, the reason most of us go there. Lovely beach, cleaned fastiduously daily. The sea was rougher than we expected to be honest. We have had Atlantic Sea experience of the Caribbean holidays before so not entirely unexpected but still rougher than previous holidays. If we were to consider a revisit to Barbados we would have no hesitation in returning to Bougainvillea and happily recommend this hotel. We were out of season though and the place was reasonably quiet and comfortable. I would have reservations about booking peak season though. We have only one gripe though which did miff us. No where on site for what is primarily a self catering hotel do you have provisions for the sale of basic breads, milk and essentials. Nearest mini mart would be at Dover Market a twenty, thirty minute walk away. Would have given five stars otherwise.…
Our first time in Barbados, and we enjoyed our stay at the Bouganvillea. Staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It wasn't hugely busy when we were there, so there were always sunloungers available on the beach, and the hotel didn't feel at all crowded. We were initially given a room which was in a weird location just off the reception area, so we asked to be moved elsewhere, and that wasn't a problem. We had several nice meals in Calabash, the hotel's restaurant, and also a couple of good lunches (with particularly excellent cocktails) in the Deia Beach Club, next to the hotel. St Lawrence Gap is a short taxi ride away, where there are plenty of other options for dinner. The rooms could do with a bit of freshening up but, on the whole, we had a very relaxing stay, and were happy to have chosen the Bouganvillea for our first visit to the beautiful island of Barbados.…
Awesome hotel. I really can’t fault.. at all.. And I’m somebody who likes to moan. Staff, facilities, food and beach are just the best. And the cleanliness of the room each day, faultless. The hotel has direct links to all the places you need to go. The busses are super cheap so it’s the ideal location to pop around the island from. I really wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
Our 2 week stay at Bougainvillea was fantastic. All the staff were really friendly and accomodating. Our junior suite room was great, clean and spacious with great views of the beach. Self catering facilities in the room was exactly what we needed for our stay. On the days we spent relaxing on the hotel grounds the watersports team were really awesome. Constantly trying to engage guests in fun activities, super friendly, approachable and easy going. Massive thanks to Mario, Roggick and Wayne for giving me the confidence to tackle paddle boarding and being patient in the process. And thanks for your outstanding customer service!! Theses are the guys to help you tackle any watersports for the first or 100th time! Also the cleaning staff were excellent and did a great job so huge thank you to Brendalee for looking after us during our stay! And Jonathan for such a warm greeting on our arrival! Would definately visit again/recommend when next in Barbados!…
