My 5th stay at Turtle Beach, it’s been several years since my last stay. I received a complementary room upgrade as I was celebrating a special birthday, thank you Turtle Beach ! Don’t be put off by poor reviews, nothing is perfect after all. I directly conveyed changes I feel were not good to the hotel post stay. Resort is due a major refurbishment which is exciting, I hope this includes sun loungers. The beach is beautiful, pool areas lovely. I love the Chelonia restaurant, buffet style in the evenings but a la carte is always available. Vast majority of staff are very helpful and pleasant. I will never stay anywhere else, I love this resort 🥰.

We took our 2 sons (3&4yrs) for 4 nights and we have zero regrets. The food selection was wide with a refreshing amount of fresh fruit always available. My younger son drank too much pool water and took sick, and the staff handled it very well. When my son was on the mend he requested banana and yogurt well after dinner and the bar staff accommodated the request easily. I cannot praise the playroom staff enough. The children begged to go to the playroom everyday. The ice cream parlour was also a hit. The staff really made the stay top class. Even the security personnel made sure to ask how my son was doing. Everyone was warm and friendly! I definitely recommend Turtle Beach for a family vacation!

We arrived at 7.30pm and no one greeted us and offered to take or bags up the stairs to reception. Very little welcome and no welcome drink which has been our usual experience. The rooms were clean but bathrooms need work - the bath was covered in limescale. Also be warned that a long walk to sea view rooms along several corridors from the lift. Our first dinner was in the buffet as you have to prebook a la carte. It is a huge dining room which is somewhat chaotic and hard to get drinks ordered. The waiting staff seem very unmotivated and rather grumpy. The beach is beautiful and although there was a red flag all week you can swim at Sandals further along which is pretty good except when rougher a bit more difficult. Lunches are buffet in the both restaurants although on the first day, apparently due to a little rain, the beach restaurant was shut so it was back to the hell of the main restaurant with a massive queue for tables and delay for food to be put out. Absolute chaos and for the price of the holiday not at all acceptable. The other lunches were slightly better on the beach but food is limited in choice and the salad bar is very basic which is very disappointing. We booked a la carte every night after first night. These are both very good and a redeeming feature of the hotel. The staff are much more friendly and attentive and the food is well presented with the menus changing daily. The swimming pools looked murky with scum so we never entered. Had a day trip to Crystal and Tamarind which were a bit better but again service is really poor and the staff seem quite moody. Pool at Crystal clean and Tamarind beach better served with clean and newer sunbeds. Beware sunbed rage at Turtle - all reserved by 7am, the beds are ropey and falling apart. Overall we probably wouldn’t return. Elegant hotels have lost their elegance. We have been to Crystal for years and they are not the same. Marriott you need to wake up.

It is a great place that combines all together. We want to thank Shodia for her help with arranging business meetings and for looking after us during this trip. She was checking on the business everywhere and was visible everywhere throughout the week and we are all very grateful to her for her support.

Really lovely place. Food was great. Beach beautiful. Kids club was amazing! The only down side was the sun lounger situation. Every single sun bed has been reserved by 7am. And the annoying part was people were also reserving them for little kids. I realise this isn’t the hotels fault but was a bit shocked by other families reserving them for little kids when there clearly were not enough to go around. The few times we did get one, we just shared one or two with our little kids. I wonder if the hotel could put in a policy where you can only reserve them for kids 12 or over. Or get more sun beds…?

We arrived at Turtle Beach for 10days. Location : 15 mins or less from the airport so great if you have young kids and don’t t want to travel so far. As we arrived at night, we checked in and were given our room keys and said dinner was being served. However no information was given that night about any special times etc for kids buffet etc which would have been nice to know as we found out 6th day in that kids buffet is on from 5:30. As main diner would only be served at 7pm. I feel they should relate this to the guests. Rooms: They are quite outdated , most of the balcony doors are rusted, showers are ok but the design of the bathroom isn’t great. Definitely needs a new revamp of the whole place as it’s quite outdated. We had to move rooms as there was issues and couldn’t be sorted. Food: Good but would have liked more options for Veg. ( Breakfast was good but would have liked abit more healthier options) You can ask the chef to make via special requests. However quite limited options for vegans. Unless something was specially made. We dined at the Italian a la carte once but it’s too hot in there so didn’t enjoy it as well. Some staff would go above and beyond esp Jaquie. She was lovely, always tended to us in a nice manner and very happy. Poolside: Sunbeds! Omg! Def not enough compared to the guests in the hotel. You’d have to wake up before 6 to ‘reserve’ your beds! Kids club: they were great! So accommodating and just a lovely bunch. Great activities for the kids. I don’t think

We’ve just returned from a wonderful Easter week on holiday spent with family at Turtle Beach. Please don’t believe all the negative reviews written on here as we have had the best holiday ever. Our room, 104, was on the ground floor and it was always well kept and cleaned each day. Nice comfortable beds, clean bedding and towels each day. Bath robes and toiletries provided. Great air con and a ceiling fan on 24/7 (much needed as it was 31* each day) It was more efficient than we’ve experienced in other hotels we’ve stayed in over the years. Pool service, food, snacks and drinks were all plentiful and nice around the Sand Trap bar and restaurant. We ate here for lunches and then at the Chelonia restaurant for evening dinners and breakfasts. We couldn’t complain about anything. Really good service, delicious food, different themed evening menu each evening. We and our two boys thought it was great. The Flying Fish Kids Club was brilliant. My sons were very well cared for and they enjoyed all the various activities including the PS5, Nintendo Switch, pool, table tennis, tye-dye tee-shirt making, baking cookies, making Easter baskets and going on an adventure egg hunt! There was even an Easter bunny. Plus it gave them a break from the hot sunshine by going indoors and making friends! My only two gripes were that smoking was allowed in all open areas. Now with this being a kids friendly hotel I don’t think that this should be allowed. On a few occasions, whilst eating lunch at the Sand Trap, cigarette smoke would blow and drift inside (it is an open air beach/pool side restaurant) My second slight complaint was that there weren’t enough sun beds, on the beach and around the pools. As a family of four, we soon learned and copied off others that we had to rise early and get out there at 6am! We were always against this idea but it had to be done in order to get four beds together! It did mean that we enjoyed long days outside in the beautiful weather, walks on the beach and lots of swimming in the pools. We also enjoyed an all inclusive visit back to Crystal Cove after almost 13 years. This hotel is on the West Coast and therefore a more exclusive. We met Lisa and Celeste again which was wonderful. Crystal Cove is definitely a must and I can highly recommend it. We got the local air conditioning bus (3:50 Barbados dollars each) there and back. There are a few people at Turtle Beach that I’d like to mention for their kindness, friendliness and helpful approach towards us: Sherry (at the kids club) Mario (around the pool/Sand Trap) Maradona (drinks waiter around the pool) Raquel (waitress at Chelonia) Rachina (at the Chelonia) Tracess (regional manager) They were all very much appreciated. All in all we had a brilliant holiday and we can’t wait to return in the not too distant future!

This is our second trip to Turtle Beach Resort. Our first was exactly 10 years ago when our children were much smaller. We had a great time 10 years ago, and an even a better time this month. Our children's ages are 13, 16, 18, and 19. They met many friends, the same ages, and have made lifelong memories with them. You cannot beat the beach, the ocean view, or the friendliness of the staff. We especially appreciated Ronaldo and Kai who ran the water activities. Their rooms are definitely clean, but could use a few upgrades. They're very spacious, and for a family of six we found that we had a lot of room.

This was our first cruise and stay in Barbados my wife and I choose the Tui, ‘Cocktails and Coconut’ Cruise and were this involved a 7 day cruise on the Mirella Discovery, (great cruise and crew) followed by a 7 day stay at the Turtle beach hotel. My wife and I totally enjoyed both the cruise and the stay at the Turtle Beach Hotel. The rooms were dated and in need of some TLC, but clean and tidy with the staff in the main helpful and friendly, there were a few exceptions but these did not distract from our overall enjoyment of our stay at this hotel. I would add this was an ideal location for a holiday stay, and the local people of Barbados brilliant.

We are currently here. First the positives Really friendly staff Good food (except what I’m about to write) Clean beach Lots of free sunbeds Well run But here is the negative and why we would not come back.!! The restaurants are infested with birds, freely dining off your plate when you turn your back or into all the buffet food! Poop everywhere, no sign of any hotel member caring. It’s as if they have given up. The rafters in the open restaurants are nothing but perches. There are no bird spikes. It’s really not a hard issue to resolve. We travel a lot and many open concept restaurants, but this is a huge issue. We are always looking for a repeat stay location and this easily could be it. Let down from lack of care, left to fight your plate with the birds. Very sad really to see when everything else is great. We are here for another 5 days. Now bringing clothes to cover our food if we leave the table.
