Loved this hotel 12 years ago, this time total opposite. Hotel is very run down and horrible to say but dirty. Bathrooms in desperate need of refurbishment, everything needs re-painting, needs a total overall. 80% of staff have not time for you, worst of all were the hotel reception staff not interested in helping, it was always someone else's job, everything was just too much trouble for them. The staff at the coffee shop, concierge and beach were great always had a smile of their faces. This hotel was not cheap, been to a lot better hotels in Arube, Antigua etc for a lot less money. Took well over an hour to get booked in, definitely not what you want after such a long flight. Would not return.
Ok this place is incredible and yes there are turtles that come on the beach First of all respect to the beach staff keeping us all safe and much love to them they got your back in the sea felt totally safe and watched them even rescue the sandals guests too. Other that being super friendly the staff really look out for you and I really mean it. So much so I will be bringing more family back over with me as soon as restrictions are lifted. The food is excellent and I think ive found my Caribbean home Also special shout out to the bar staff keeping the drinks going
We stayed for a family celebration and it was everything we wanted. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Our ground floor location was perfect for the little one to access the pool. She also loved the kids club. Food and Beverage had a good variety of choices to meet all requirements. The team went above and beyond arranging meals for my little ones outside of hours. Rum punch is very strong but very recommended, Team members were helpful and always very polite. Massage treatment was highly skilled.
Just got home from a fantastic time at Turtle Beach hotel. This was our second visit and there will be a third visit. Staff all amazing, room, large and clean the bed huge and comfortable , yes the bathrooms need updating but was spotless. There was people moaning about things, but those people will always moan.
I agree with some reviews that the hotel is tired but that didn't spoil our stay at all. I expected this before arrival from reading reviews, I wasn't put off at all. We had spacious, interconnecting rooms with a lovely pool and sea view. Rooms were large and clean and the bed was huge and SO comfortable! The beach was lovely, sea was quite rough but still lovely and warm. The food was lovely that I ate. I'm fussy so am limited with food but I found something everyday at all times of day and what I ate was really nice. Drinks were plentiful, there was a coffee and cake shop and an ice cream shop that did a lovely banana milkshake 😋 Snacks were on through the day and you could grab crisps and bottled water whenever you pleased throughout. The hotel is very relaxed, I personally found most staff were lovely and polite. I found the people of Barbados to be very friendly. The hotel was also well located at one end of the gap. You can also use sister hotels. We used facilities at Crystal cove for a day which was lovely, though smaller than Turtle Beach. We would stay again.…
The hotel is is need of a bit of TLC. It looks tired in places. The hotel amenities are good. All inclusive means what it says, there are no hidden extras. It is made clear in advance that a room levy and tourist tax are payable when checking out. Food quality is good with plenty of choice. Water activities are included but subject to sea conditions, of course. We had a Junior Suite with Ocean View. A very comfortable room, plenty of space and well equipped with safe, fridge and hair dryer. I docked a point on the score because there were insufficient beach towels. This was despite the fact the hotel was less than half full. On one day there was no water. This meant toilet cisterns did not refill, showers didn't work etc. I don't believe this was the fault of the hotel but it was inconvenient. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Drinks are brought to your sun lounger if you really can't go to the bar yourself. The evening entertainment was good quality and enjoyable.…
We have returned from a week in Barbados staying at the Turtle Beach travelling as two famillies with two teenage boys and thus booking three rooms to accommodate our needs. All the rooms had impressive sea views and were kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay and the hotel did much to ensure the safety of guests was paramount with the current rules on Covid in Barbados being adhered to. The hotel has a relaxed, boutique feel with lovely gardens, two pool areas and beach access. Unfortunately the sea was quite choppy during our time there and hence was red flagged for a number of days: the lifeguards risk assessed this on a daily basis. In order to overcome issue this we booked transport to take us to a sister hotel where our boys were able to access watersports : kayaks, doughnuts, wake boarding etc at no cost and our all inclusive status was honoured. The hotel does offer a shuttle bus for a fee to Oistins fish fry on the Friday night which we were able to take advantage of. We tried all three restaurants at the hotel and found the food to be consistently good, all the staff were friendly and helpful and we appreciated the open bar in the centre of the hotel. The hotel is an easy stroll from Lawrence Gap with it's shops and bars. We used the hotels events guide to book our day trips: easily the best day out was boat trip with snorkeling and swimming with turtles.…
Going home today from turtle beach can not wait by far the worst hotel I have stayed in .im a scruffy arse builder so I'm not fussy at all .the hotel is nothing like the pictures at all the hotel is run down and dirty the choice of food is a joke and what there is is warm and runs out and stood waiting for them to replenish it the staff are miserable and rude not all them but 80 % of them every one we spoke to felt the same and very disappointed marriotts should be ashamed sending people here at that cost so I would avoid this hotel like the plague I will never stay in a marriotts hotel again just incase this is their standard very disappointed in the whole holiday because of hotel and for the cost of coming here save your money and disappointment and don't come to turtle beach spa and resort toilet broke 3 times fan in room didn't work reported it 3 times never fixed had water coming through lights and ceiling from 3 floors above twice bath tap falling of the list goes on and not just my room many others had the same 3 star at best and that's being kind save your money…
Arrived without luggage so mood was not good first impressions of this hotel is shabby and in need of a refurbishment through out from divining room to reception and bedrooms Evening meal buffet that night was Chinese but offered no plain alternative ended up having the child's buffet of chicken nuggets and chips!!! So thought I'd make up with breakfast how wrong the breakfast buffet food was cold and the selection is poor and bake beans are grey!and after witness what they did with the restock of hot food by mixing the one to be replaced bits in with the new not food hygiene and safety conscious so that ruled out any other days of having a hot option the buffet selection was poor and no plain alternatives available the children's buffet menu disappeared after the second day and one evening had to make do with a roll and some cheese It states 4pm sandwiches are made available like to know where from as wasn't as stated in the buffet area Need to seriously look at there food offerings as what food was available was disgusting and cold The staff cannot do enough for you that's the best bit of the hotel but unfortunately the staff is not just good enough…
We got married at this resort in 1998. We recently visited Barbados (to start a cruise). We visited the Turtle Beach Resort to re-create our wedding photographs 😉. Staff welcomed us & accommodated our wishes in every way possible. We were only there for a short time but the hotel is still a top-notch establishment. Having been married there, we can only recommend the high quality of service & attention to detail. We hope that we can return to for a longer stay at some point in the future.
