This is our third time in Barbados and the first stay at turtle beach and we cant understand the negative reviews. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you need for a relaxing Caribbean holiday. We had a seaview room that was big and beautifully decorated. The bathroom could of done with a bit of updating but was clean and had a lovely shower, all the restaurants had great food and all the staff we encountered were lovely and friendly. I think that you are happy and friendly with the staff you will get the same back. The beach was amazing and a lot of fun. This was our first stay in st Lawrence gap at the bottom of the island so the sea was a bit rougher than when we stayed further up the coast in hometown but we expected that and it wasn't a problem. If we can fault anything about the hotel it would be that everything shuts up a bit to early for us and after the entertainment finishes there is nowhere to go unless you go offsite and up the gap. But there are kids at the hotel so I suppose they have to think of them. We had a great time at turtle beach and will definitely be returning as soon as possible. …
The hotel overpriced. Staff not too friendly . Some of them looks like they come for punishment . Coffee shop very good but if you lucky who is working that day and know how to make coffee . 3* just for the guys working in front helping with luggage and tax and working at the bar other wise will be 1*
We paid 460 Barbados dollars, or £186, for two day passes at Turtle Beach. What did that get us? Well, as many beach towels as you can use, but nowhere to shower or even change, just one damp and sandyladies loo cubicle near the pool bar. Not at all what we needed. After I complained, I was told that if I had wanted to shower or change I could have booked a courtesy room for 30 minutes for an extra charge. Someone should possibly explain the usual meaning of “courtesy” to them. If only they had explained this when we arrived, I would have paid the extra through gritted teeth, but instead I left grumpy and sweaty and far from relaxed. The food was ok, the white wine was unpleasant to the point of undrinkable. There were enough loungers at the pool, but not enough umbrellas. The ones they had were too heavy to move and there was no one to move them for you. If you wanted shade, you had to move inside. Finally, when the time came to leave there was no one to fetch our bags from the store and we had to find them ourselves. Do yourself a favour and choose somewhere else to relax.…
My wife and I have just returned from a 10 night holiday at Turtle Beach. This was our first stay for 3 years due to Covid, having stayed there many times previously. Although the hotel requires some refurbishment, the staff easily make up for this. My wife and I were treated like long lost family and they couldn’t do enough for us. Special thanks must go to Nigel and Herm, Nicole (Shorty), Joy, Lasonta, the two Donnas, Jacqueline, Winston and Maradonna. Truthfully all of the staff were wonderful and on a positive note, the food seemed even better than previously due to the new chef.
Relaxing break. All inclusive bands not used which is a nice touch. This hotel is fairly small and one can navigate around it easily. Beautiful rooms, really powerful shower, but as a woman I’d prefer a shower to have a hose and not be fixed onto the wall. Hairdryer, iron & iron board, beach towels & Umbrella included in the room. The beach was stunning. Powdery, white soft sand which is shared with Sandals & Sandals Royal hotels right next door. Fabulous canopy sun beds on the beach. I would say they’re we’re not enough sun beds around the pool area which was also beautiful. A variety of water sports included except those that are motorised. A fantastically stocked beach bar serving a variety of cocktails, local beer, wines and cold water. All meals and drinks included with 2 additional separate pre-bookable inclusive restaurants. They have a coffee shop and an ice-cream parlour. There is a kids club but as we didn’t have children with us it wasn’t used. Nightly entertainment during and after dinner but once this has ended around 10pm there really isn’t much else to do in the hotel. All in all, we’d go back in a heartbeat.…
Fabulous living the dream right on the beach our room has fabulous sea view staff so friendly and helpful rooms cleaned every day we have just had our 1st week here and looking forward to the next week ☀️☀️☀️
Hotel good, food good, entertainment ok so on the whole it was a good holiday. The beach was amazing but for swimmers and snorklers its a no go as the sea is rought most of the time. there for a week and red flag flying all week.
Beautiful room although bathroom a little dated. Food and drinks very good always found something we really enjoyed. Only negative point was that the hotel allowed people to put towels on the sun beds from 6:30 in the mornings. I think if beds are not used for an hour the towels should be removed. Entertainment was a little weak. The staff were lovely and very helpful.
It is in a good location with a nice beach front. The water was a little rough while we were there and so watersports were limited and swimming was also limited to near the water's edge especially for children. I note Sandals, Barbados is next door. Sandals seemed quite crowded when we were there but both hotels share a very deep and wide beach front. Great for surfboarders on the better days. Life guards were very vigilant however. There were issues with tons of seaweed washing up on the beach for a couple of days but I noted that Sandals brought in heavy equipment to remove it from their beach front which was close to Turtle beach's property. The pools are nice although on the smaller side. Nice looking kids club with new equipment and also a very nice well eqipped gym. The rooms are a little worn but adequate and we loved our beach front accommodation with a lovely patio. The bathroom however was a problem with a worn out bath tub with what appeared to be a jerry rigged 1/2 immobile shower stall in front of the faucets with very little space to actually get in because the entrance was at the other end very close to the toilet. I don't know what genius added the shower stall at this end. Needless to say a recipe for disaster ! This should be addressed before someone gets hurt. The food was average with occasional high points but there were a number of choices. Desserts were generally disappointing with a clear attempt at cutting costs. Cocktails were good. There is an ice cream parlor open most of the day but the quality of the ice cream was not great. However I am sure the kids did not mind. The staff were generally friendly but I found tipping went a long way in getting better and quicker service. (human nature) I think for the price it was fair value. …
When our coach pulled up outside this hotel we were immediately very impressed. The porters were super friendly and took care of our luggage and the reception staff were very welcoming. We were shown to our room and were absolutely delighted with the space and also location, right next to the smaller swimming pool and close to the bars and restaurant too. Room was huge with a huge bed and also very large tv with plenty of channels. The shower was a little temperamental in that it took a while for the water to heat up but that wasn’t an issue. The food in the main restaurant at breakfast and evening meal was very nice. Plenty to choose from. Also nice food to be had at the pool/beach bar restaurant. The beach is beautiful, amazing! The water tends to get quite choppy if there’s a breeze but it was still lovely to lie there listening to the waves. We never once had an issue with sun beds, unlike the Sandals resorts next door, most beds there were taken by 7.30 am according to one of their guests. Most of the staff during our stay were great, friendly and happy to help. In particular Maradonna from the pool bar, he was amazing and so happy and cheerful all the time, he couldn’t do enough for you! Also thanks to Win ( Winston ) at the same bar who we had a few chats with. Josh was also great! Unfortunately, the only negative we have about this hotel was the rest of the pool bar staff, hence the 4 star review. They were quite rude and unfriendly and clearly were not interested in serving quickly or with a smile. We actually sometimes felt like we were a nuisance. Many other guests noticed the same problem and it was a constant during our stay. It’s a shame about this as otherwise the hotel is perfect. Would definitely return 👍…
