This hotel is listed in the book " The Lonely Planet" as a palatial residence of the pasha. It does have extensive gardens. It has very disappointing rooms and bathrooms. The water worked infrequently and the light bulbs were burnt out. It had no amenities.

Sure, it's seen better days, but the staff are helpful, the beer is cold & although the restaurant menu is extremely restricted, our meal was pretty tasty. It must have been spectacular in it's hayday.
