We have stayed at Dar Hal Houssoun for 3 nights and could not have asked for a better experience. The rooms are immersed in a fantastic garden designed by two famous architects with more than 900 species of plants. The swimming pool is simply fantastic. Rooms are spacious, well decorated and clean. Staff is extremely helpful and nice. The chef is a super star! Each dish we have tried was simply excellent. We highly recommend Dar Al Hossoun for anyone who wants to live a very special and memorable experience
I came here in need of rest and recuperation. I cannot recommend it enough. The peace and beauty of this place is breath-taking. The food is marvellous and the staff are lovely. I shall definitely return.
Do not miss this amazing place while travelling to southern Morocco. The history of the property and how it became the place it is today is part of the charm of the Dar. The desert garden is a delight, the staff incredibly helpful and it feels like to be home. Choose a room in one of the back courtyards: more quite and intimate.
This place is stunning - the gardens and outside sitting areas are lovely. The restaurant is also great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you to Florence, the owner, for the guided tour and introduction to the hotel. Definitely visit this oasis
I am passionately enthusiastic about this amazing property. The gardens are simply OUT OF THIS WORLD. With the lovely lodging structures and common spaces integrated into this garden paradise, it is a visual feast wherever you look. There is an actual sunken garden more than one story deep. The staff is attentive but not intrusive. What can i say, even the breezes feel as if your skin is getting kissed! I have been all over the world and this place beats everywhere. sidebar: we had a small plumbing issue and as the hotel was not fully booked we were upgraded and moved at no charge to a palatial suite. But that's not why I love it so much. it was my third visit and I will go every year!
Possiibly one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed in, and unquestionably THE place to stay if you're visiting Taroudant (I saw a few other hotels as well, and this one is outstanding). The extensive and botanically important gardens make for a little Eden, and the architecture is delightful. There is evidence of much thoughtful and sensitive restoration, and the room interiors reflect the authenticity of the buildings. There were 4 of us spread out over 4 rooms, so we all wandered round each other's rooms, and all were of a very high standard. Large and high-ceilinged, with huge, comfortable beds and useful stuff like coffee machines, they all opened on to lovely terraces where you could lounge around and have decadently late breakfasts whilst watching the peacocks and listening to the birdsong. The swimming pool is also beautiful, btw. Meals were fab, even with a Covid-restricted menu. Staff were very careful to ask us daily about our dietary preferences, but we didn't have any, and ended up saying, "whatever you suggest!" - every single thing we ate was delicious, and they had a great selection of local and French wines, and many cocktails. There's also a grand piano btw. But what really makes this place is the kindness and helpfulness of management and staff alike. We were a pain to deal with, as we kept asking for last-minute help. They sorted us out with last-minute horse riding at a local stable - very good value and amazing thoroughbred btw. They booked us the dreaded pre-flight Covid tests at a very efficient Taroudant pharmacy, and arranged a dawn taxi ride to Agadir airport for one of us. It's also a great base for exploring the local area, either by car to the coast or into the glorious mountains nearby, or just to wander round on foot. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from an extraordinarily beautiful wadi, or dry river bed, a bit like a mini version of the grand canyon. You can walk down and around this and through local farmland on easy paths, and it's all beautiful anad fascinating. Can't wait to go back.…
The place is very nice, and the staff are very polite and friendly. Unfortunately, after we get back home, my family and I suffered from food intoxication, we ate the Tanjiya. We feel very disappointed! Especially that the price is very expensive! Please make sure the food is fresh and healthy.
How about a December surrounded by orange and lemon trees? I think it sounds magical and it actually was. Dar al Hossoun is one of those places that tries to keep the Moroccan traditions alive and I have really enjoyed my experience on their property. From the gate you see how special this place is when you are greeted by a huge bougainvillea and the most gorgeous peacocks. It is a truly amazing place where you can recharge and relax, but also enjoy the Moroccan cuisine and do some traditional shopping at their little store. The rooms are also super nice and lovely decorated with vintage pieces. Loved the bathrooms, super relaxing and again old and traditional, but completely functional. Their garden is one of the most amazing I have ever seen and they have managed to grow palm trees, bananas and a lot of cactai in about 8 years. We saw a picture of the place from 2011 and couldn’t believe the garden was almost empty, just few trees were planted here and there and now they have plants that can make shade for hundreds of people. Loved the place and definitely coming back soon to this amazing oasis!…
