Absolutely incredible visit as always. This was my second visit to this picturesque lodge on the banks of the Kunene River and although Pete Morgan is no longer around, the new management and staff are equally superb and friendly and the warm hospitality hasn’t changed one bit.

We spent three lovely days at Kunene River Lodge. The staff were friendly and attentive, the meals delicious. It is worth the trek to reach the lodge. Our room was spacious and we were happy to have air conditioning.

Hi. I can't remember the price but it included a short transfer to visit a local family unit. We had a guide/interpreter and sat in a hut with family members learning about the himba culture. We also saw their kitchen hut. We asked lots of questions and this wasn't a problem. It's clearly a culture and way of life that's under pressure. I think we were there for about an hour and a half. I'm sure you can get the price from the lodge.

when last was Cinderella Waxbill seen in the area
Was the trip to see the cave chat a hard, rough one?
The drive to see the Cave Chat takes about 2 hours as it is located in the Zebra mountains. It is over some fairly rough terrain in a remote and beautiful area. Once at the Zebra mountains it is possible to see the Chat from the ground but it may be necessary to climb up on some of the rocks to locate it. Obviously the guide does his best to find the bird for you. We usually leave at around 5am and return about 1pm.
