Taormina is something of a tricky place to book accommodation for in winter. Did we want to stay up on the hill in the village and risk a few days shrouded in fog or rain, or was it better to stay at the bottom of the hill near the sea but then have a climb into the centre of things...

Our friend's wedding was at the hotel opposite so we were more concerned about location...but it turned out to be a great little place. We paid more for the large balcony, which meant we could sit out there and sun-bathe, play cards and drink wine. We thought it was really worth it as Taormina is generally v expensive it was...

Hotel Baia Azzura is a nice, modern hotel right across from the beach in Taormina. Great bar location overlooking the bustling main thoroughfare and bay, although the bartender's repertoire was somewhat limited. Clean well-appointed rooms, and very nice breakfast buffet. Would recommend the Hotel Baia Azzura when in Taormina.

This is a wonderful hotel! I have to admit after reading reviews , I was a bit unsure , well don't be! Housekeeping was amazing! Front desk didn't speak a lot of English but tried to help in any way they could and we're very friendly. The breakfast was wonderful , that cake!!! The views if you get an ocean...

Hotel Baia Azzurra can boast a wonderful location in Mazzaro, just down from Taormina, a few stairs away from the Baia Azzurra. The FuniVia (cablecars) to taormina are just around the corner. As the hotel was fully booked, we ended up in one of the smallest rooms. But it was clean, the bed was good. And it was compensated by...

We booked the room with sea views, and it was definitely worth it. The hotel location is great, close to the beach, and close to the gondola ride that takes you up into town. Hotel has parking available as well.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 10 nights, this is exactly what we wanted, it has amazing views, lovely decorations, clean functional rooms and a nice breakfast. The location is also great. It is situated on a coastal road, right next to the cable cart that goes to Taormina town (€3 each - one way) and within walking distance...

We took two rooms for three days. Rooms were good sized and both had sea views of the bay and across to the mainland. The staff were all courteous, helpful and friendly We took dinner in the restaurant on the terrace overlooking the sea. The food was excellent though the menu was somewhat limited. The cable car to Taormina is...

Well located hotel. Modern rooms and bathrooms. Hair dryer, wifi, safe, elevator, parking. The breakfast was abundant and well served in a nice setting. The hotel has a bar and restaurant with a fabulous view of the bay. Walking distance to the cable car (funivia, cost 6 euros roundtrip) that takes you to the center of town which offers a...
