Nestled in a picturesque setting, Klein-Aus Vista - Desert Horse Inn receives accolades for its scenic atmosphere and proximity to the wild horses of Luderitz. Guests commend the comfortable rooms and highlight the immaculate cleanliness of the campsites. The abundance of activities and well-liked amenities, such as the beautiful pool, enhance the visitor experience. While the staff is generally celebrated for their friendliness, there have been sporadic mentions of service delays. Although most find the pricing reasonable, a few guests have encountered unexpected additional costs.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at Klein-Aus Vista. Beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable room, good service and delicious food. We found all the written explanations (hikes, aircon, shower water etc.) to be very practical. Also, your information folder with the history of Aus and the lodge, local wildlife and plants, Lüderitz, etc. to be of particular interest (a small side note is that some of the information needs updating and editing). A suggestion for your lodge is to have shading for cars next to the rooms and also at the main parking. Perhaps local material like wood or thatch could be used for this. Also to let guests know that there are wild horses on the property which drink from the reservoir - we made this pleasant discovery by accident.

A very beautiful main house made of wood. Great atmosphere. Restaurant, bar and pool. Nice staff. The campsite is a little away from the main house. From the campsite you have to walk about 100m to the shared washhouse. It is very clean and well maintained. The campsite has a barbecue area, a water tap and a camping table. At night the campsite is guarded by security because there are jackals and baboons there. But we didn't see or hear any of the animals. Highly recommended as a stopover or as a starting point for Lüderitz. We would come back.

We stayed 1 night at the Desert Horse Inn, 25 minutes from the Pension you can watch the wild horses drinking at the watering hole. The Pension is nice with a nice horseshoe-shaped pool, the rooms are simple but pretty. We had a great dinner. The staff was not very pleasant except during the meal.
I recommend.

The property is clean and well maintained, and the campsites are well laid out. Overall a pleasant experience but be aware that this is a fairly busy venue (even in the off season) and the camping feel is not one of being in the wilderness or secluded. Be aware that there are many bees which congregate around the camp taps and climb up into the pipes, I was stung multiple times. Not a huge issue, but it could be dangerous for those with allergies. There are also mice and baboons which makes leaving anything outside of the car risky. An excellent choice for trailer or rooftop camping, but regular campers should be aware that they will have to keep most of their gear in the car. The hiking trail requires a permit which comes at an additional cost, even to overnight guests. The reception area has a well-stocked gift shop, bar, and lovely swimming pool. Braai packs (including roosterbrood, salad, and veggies) can be ordered from the kitchen. An overall pleasant stay, with friendly and helpful staff.

The room is in a double bungalow with a small veranda/terrace. The rooms are simple and functional, with AC, kettle/coffee/tea, fridge, safe, fly screen and hairdryer. Don't forget to plug in an adapter! WiFi works perfectly in the room.
The evening meal consists of a 3-course menu, a large selection of dishes, a culinary highlight of our Namibia trip. Beautifully and appetisingly presented, very large portions, 3 courses are impossible to finish, and it was always delicious and very tasty, simply wonderful and of good quality. A big compliment to the kitchen! Breakfast in buffet form, also excellent and plentiful.
Pool available, but we didn't use it.
There is a beautiful view from the main house.
We stayed here for 2 nights and felt very comfortable. Absolutely recommendable.

We stopped at this hotel at the beginning of June. We were supposed to be camping but that day it was raining and it was 4C outside. a cold feeling. Although we had already paid for our location, we requested a room ($1600). The heating was not working. We went to report it to reception, they noticed that the heating was faulty and gave us a little extra heating while we waited for someone to come and do the repairs. 3 hours later, it was only 12C in the room and no one had come. We returned to reception. They thought that the auxiliary heating would be enough... The manager came to see us. He was incredibly condescending. He didn't understand why we were complaining, he had lived in this house for 15 years without complaining about the cold and that if we weren't happy we could just go back to the campsite. We asked to change rooms but as we had already started to "dirty" this one, we would have to pay for another room! We were finally given a second auxiliary heater, which was not sufficient. It was 10 in the room at night...
When checking out, someone apologized (the manager?) and gave us a discount on the room (the price of the campsite was deducted from the price of the room).

Stayed here 1 night camping, the main restaurant/bar area was beautiful. Lots of hiking & mountain biking trails. The sunset viewpoint hike was beautiful (take a torch/light for coming back just in case). No problems with the campsite or ablutions. Decided to eat at the restaurant rather than cook, and food was truly delicious and reasonably priced. They also have a nice little gift shop. Would recommend!

Quietly located lodge - slightly larger (estimated about 25 houses) so slightly busier, especially in the restaurant (which, by the way, offers excellent cuisine) and friendly service. The houses themselves are spacious and neat, but the furniture may need some updating. Good base to visit the Wild Horses of Namibia (15 minutes' drive) or Ghost Town Kolmanskop (1 hour's drive).

The campsite had a tap, electricity, a windbreak and a nice big tree for shade. A huge social weaver nest also gave us a lot of entertainment. The ablutions were nice and clean. The shower was warm, and the little extra space where you could put your change of clothes and hang your towel was greatly appreciated. It was the best ablution facility of all the other campsites we stayed at - where there was nowhere to put your things, and you end up putting on wet clothes and shoes. There were not many campers the first night we were there, but the following 2 nights there were lots of campers, and I would suggest another ablution facility, as the current one only has two toilets and two showers, which can be a problem when the camp is full. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I highly recommend the campsite. The breakfast was a bit too pricey - as campers we had to pay for it, while it is included in the chalets.

Thank you very much for the message. Each of the ten sites is equipped with a tap, table, grill and windbreak. Neat shower and toilet facilities are within easy reach of each site. Barbecue packs are available at the reception of Desert Horse Inn (1.5 km); those who like to skip cooking for a change are more than welcome at the Inn's restaurant (subject to space available, please enquire upon arrival). Several hiking trails run through the valley; the Sundowner Trail leads to a lookout point where you can watch the sun disappear behind the distant horizon at the far end of vast desert plains. The Desert Horse Campsite is just 20 km away from the habitat of the Wild Horses. Best regards, Koney
