Welcome by the owners with a smile. Selling wood and all you need for your stay. Nice swimming pool. 4x4 for the more experienced . Camping sites was neat and clean. The owners were keen to share information of the surroundings.
My husband and I travelled from SA, through Botswana and Caprivi strip to Namibia. The Tsauchab River Camp was definitely the very best camp site on our trip. I don't know where to start really. Each of the camp sites is HUGE and you are completely alone. No neighbours whatsoever. All you hear is the birds and the silence. Each camp site has its own 'en suite' shower/toilet which is so clean and spacious and .... just for you. There is a braai area and a washing up sink and tap. Sadly no electricity to each site but we plugged our freezer in to the power in an area near to reception so just popped up each day and collected whatever we needed. Every evening Abraham came down to light candles around the site which just added to the overall night time experience. We were told that often the camp sites get visits from kudu. We did not see any but there are lots of beautiful birds all around the camp site. Don't miss this place. There is a beautiful swimming pool set in the greenest, lushest, area you could imagine with sun loungers and a beautiful view all round. We didn't utilise the restaurant or bar but that is equally magnificent. The attention to detail in every aspect of this resort is incredible. Everything is spotlessly clean and the decor is so imaginative and unique. I can't put into words what this place offers. Don't miss this if you are in the ara.…
The staff has been amazing, Thanks for your kindness and helpfulness during our stay. The lodge is about 45minutes drive away from Sossusvlei entrance. The rooms/chalets are in a distance to the lodge, which gives you lot's of privacy, and have only 12 Volt power (meaning no charging of any equipment and no aircon). I'm the aircon girl but at night it cooled down nicely with a breeze going through the chalet. Charging was done at the main house, so no problem at all. The food eas lekker and the sourroundings stunning. Nice pathways to explore the area. The collection and artefacts at this place is stunning, better than any museum. The camp sites looked also nice.
This lodge with chalets and campsite is beautifully located between the Naukluft and Tsaris Mountains, in an empty, deserted landscape. It is a perfect place to rest and relax, and about a 1.5 hours drive to Sesriem. Staff was friendly, meals were really excellent. Our chalet was pleasant, clean and comfortable but our bed was relatively small. Most chalets are located near the Tsauchab Riverbed, implying that the view from these chalets is limited and not enabling to enjoy the stunning surrounding mountainous landscape. This is probably the closest lodge to the Namib Naukluft Park, where for those who like to hike the Olive Trail and the Waterkloof trial can be found. It is about 40 km from the lodge to the Olive trail, so according to local standards nearby! Please note that the D854 is not the most comfortable road in the country, but this adds to the charm of this place.…
They are situated in the "Naukluft", which offers superb landscapes and opportunities to hike on the lodge- or surrounding nature reserves. The camp offers chalets (all private) as well as camping grounds. If you decide to eat in-house, the food is of very good quality. Owners and staff are accomodating, helpful. definitely a recommendable establishment in the vicinity, though not the run-of-the-mill 4-star b&b....
