We visited the Radisson Blue PL for 2 weeks between 10th - 25th June 2024. Prior to our holiday, I had emailed in advance to let the hotel know that I was planning to propose to my girlfriend. Upon arrival, we had been upgraded to a beautiful ocean view room, with beautiful fresh flowers on the bed, following the proposal, Girnesh and his amazing housekeeping team had decorated our room again with fresh flowers spelling out 'congratulations' and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, cake and fruit platter. The staff in this hotel are brilliant, they can't do enough for you and are always smiling, a huge shout out to Shan on the front of reception who goes above and beyond and is an absolute credit to the hotel, another shout out to Ooma our housekeeper who always ensured the room was spotless on a daily basis.

The location of the hotel is stunning, it is on the beach, the water can be a bit choppy on this side of the island, but tjis makes for amazing views and sounds of the waves.

The food is good, especially in the Aqua 180 restauraunt, this is a snack/lunch bar in the day which makes fresh to order pasta, pizza, curry, burgers, sandwiches and more, all included on the all inclusive package. The evening food is also good, lots to choose from and always something to eat, each evening is themed.

We had a very special trip to Mauritius and the Radisson Blu PL, we would happily return and again, are very thankful for the staff members here who made our trip extra special.

This hotel gets five stars from me because first of all I am also from the gastronomy chef and my wife is waitress . we see this with slightly different eyes i.e. the perfect service the friendliness always at the view to the guest no matter what area whether the kitchen reception the bar waiters or the extra restaurant down on the beach or the caretakers. very nice spa area fitness center big enough especially the cleanliness in the rooms it is constantly everything should need something at the latest the next day otherwise the problem is immediately eliminated by the culinary 7 day program every day what other local food very good there are oysters there are fresh sea urchin traditional food . At breakfast you get what your heart desires whether the omelette are scrambled eggs sweet stuff banana cake cereal it is very careful also on the allergens there is for breakfast at dinner . should there be problems with the food ,you are personally advised by the chef Carl.
Big thanks to our Shiva from the restaurant,Drish from the beach bar and to the chef receptionist.
The beach area clean clear water enough fish to look at while snorkeling or water turtles .
I.e. come back thank you very much💯🇲🇺

This resort, where I stayed during the Christmas week of 2023, amazed me with the perfect balance between quality service and respect for the island.
The hotel is new and perfectly maintained, the structure blends well with the surrounding landscape, the restaurant has a huge makuti roof and the vegetation is lush and well cared for. The common spaces are built using wood and local volcanic rock, they are always airy, never crowded and are surrounded by a variety of flowers with particular shapes and colorful birds. A second restaurant blends in perfectly with the vegetation close to the beach and the swimming pool is equipped with numerous canopied deckchairs.
The resort is located in an exclusive, little-frequented residential area and the horizon at sea is devoid of boats.
Unlike many of the most beautiful beaches on the island, which are often too crowded, the beach at the Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette is large, quiet, exclusive thanks to the reasonable size of the resort and the fact that they do not accept children. There are always wooden and palm leaf umbrellas available and hundreds of meters of deserted beach available.
Entering the water from the white sand beach allows for gradual cooling baths and then transforms into a reef suitable even for non-experts where you can touch down to the coral reef. I swam with the turtles 20 meters from the shore and I was breathless at the variety of fish and the colors of the coral seabed that I had only seen before in TV documentaries.
The real plus of the resort are the management and the staff of the structure in which I found authenticity, courtesy and attention to detail.
I don't want to mention any member in particular because all the staff, without exception, made this stay unforgettable. They always made sure of my satisfaction, with every contact I encountered kindness, genuine enthusiasm and professionalism. The staff speaks an infinite number of languages without losing the local authenticity. The lunch and dinner buffet has always been varied and of high quality, the Christmas gala buffet was incredible, crudités, international dishes and in the dessert part it seemed to be in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory due to the colors and shapes of sweets and cakes.
The excursion organized by the reception was also perfect, we visited the whole north with a very pleasant dedicated guide.
Thank you all.

Unfortunately, after a short time, our complaints from DERTOUR's contact person and the German contact person at the hotel were no longer responded to by Whatsapp or phone. We then turned to the English-speaking staff. The rooms are in need of renovation and the service and food would have to be adjusted according to the price level. For the most part, I agree with Gerhard's remarks in November 2024. Even reviews that have been negative for over a year show that unfortunately nothing has improved. Again, we would not book the hotel.
The bed was additionally on stilts and was therefore very high. The room was much too small for two people and the price called. The terrace was dirty and the loungers not usable. Cleaning had to be done again on arrival as much was very dirty. In addition, the daily cleaning was often done inadequately and the minibar was not always refilled. The towels occasionally had holes.
The food was unfortunately very one-sided and insufficiently cooled in the buffet restaurant. Most of the food was consistently served the entire two weeks. We then switched more often to the à la carte restaurant, where the quality was good.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly in most cases.

I have just arrived back from a 10 night stay. Overall the hotel was ok. Not the best place to stay & definitely would NOT stay there again.

My main issue with the hotel was the food!! . The hygiene of the food is very poor. There is no covers to cover the food so all the cheese, fruit, salad etc were in the open, there was often a lot of fruit flies on them!!
Every time I had a food from the buffet I was ill in the night vomiting & diarrhoea.
I spoke to many couples during our stay who also experienced the same thing. They have an another restaurant on the beach front which is slightly better but not much!!

I had an AL package but half of the stuff on the menu is not included on the packag and you had to pay an uplift. I paid enough for the holiday .. why wasn’t this made clear upon booking?

The hotel also advertises a “roof top bar”. I can assure you it is no where near a roof top bar. It’s a shack made out of wood with bottles of vodka. There is no sufficient seating area, its bean bags on the sand? It’s also not on the roof? It was extremely disappointed with this as this was one of the features that stood out. Despite being an all inclusive package, if you wanted to have tapas from the “roof top bar” you had to pay a premium that’s if the bar was open, it advertises every evening 4pm until 9pm. It was open twice when I was there. A couple we met also said that they waited up there for an hour one evening and no body showed so they went down to the buffet to say they were up there and they were told they needed to pay to be there. Very unpleasant, unprofessional and mis leading!

When I visited the sister hotel all their food was in fridges, when I ate there I had no stomach issues in the evening. If they can cover the food in the sister hotel, why can’t they do it in this one?

The pool was lovely, beach was good, plenty selection of sun beds.
The hotel advertised water sports however for the full 10 days there they said the weather was too dangerous to go into the sea .. so we went and brought our own snorkels and did it ourselves. I just think they can’t be bothered.

The other issue with this hotel is the lack of undercover seating. If it rains (which is did for 3 nights) there’s no where to go at all. I didn’t go on holiday to sit in my room?

Overall the hotel was ok, I still enjoyed my holiday however the hotel did drastically let it down. I would not return.

All-inclusive hotel with lovely views of the ocean, on the secluded East Coast. The hotel has a buffet restaurant serving decent food for breakfast and dinner - along with a breakfast chef and varied evening themes, like Indian night, which had tasty, freshly prepared dishes. The rooms have Nespresso machines, which is nice (capsules aren’t included but can be purchased at 3$/2.90 € a piece (= 140 MUR). There is a large pool with lounge chairs and there are more lounge chairs by the sea (most of which, however, seemed occupied from morning till night during high season, when I visited). There aren’t that many activities to do in this part of the island, but you can do a bit of snorkling and kayaking. The hotel also has an entertainment program with games and some other group activities. There is also a gym and a basic spa. Most sea front rooms do not have balconies, but can open the glass partition (a type French balcony). Between 6PM and 11 PM, the entertainment system and DJs dominate the resort (a loud pounding from the bass can be “enjoyed” in the sea front rooms in the main building), but if you’re an all-inclusive guest there to party, and with (some of the) drinks included, this hotel might be just your scene. Others might find the place touristy, noisy, and overpriced.

Just returned from an 11 night All Inclusive package at this hotel and sadly left feeling a little underwhelmed. Having previously stayed in Caribbean AI resorts we had high hopes for a similar experience with the dining but this was sadly not the case. The buffet restaurant was quite repetitive in choice and the quality of the dishes available was not the highest. The other restaurant on site had the same choice menu every night and there were some surcharges for some options, again, something that we weren’t expecting. Breakfasts were probably the best dining with some nice cooked options available.
The room was OK with a nice sea viewbut it needed some maintenance….. tiles in shower, exposed timbers around door and stains on the shower floor were some obvious issues together with some not so clean towels on some days.
However… staff tried hard to please and worked very hard. Shivam in the buffet restaurant was an exceptional staff member and looked after us by delivering ice cream to us to accompany some rather dry desert options.
Evening entertainment were mainly singers, and although OK it would be good to source something different a few nights a week.
This a nicely laid out resort with pool, bar, beach and rooms all close and the gardens are well kept. However, I think the small size of the hotel has obvious ramifications for the dining options which is a shame.
The beach needed a litter pick and wouldn’t take long to sort together with a seaweed trawl to make it pristine.
Stray dogs on site was a divided issue among guests but they should not be around dining areas.
We had a nice candlelight dinner one night and the food was nicely prepared for that.
The gym was fine and had enough for an average gym goer….
Overall we had a relaxing nice time at the hotel and the weather was perfect during our stay.

Dear widzee, First and above all, we would like to sincerely thank you for your recent stay among us at Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa, Mauritius ! I am glad that you appreciated mostly the attention of Shivam who exceeded your expectations with their service and care and they work really hard to provide you with their best service ever and your kind acknowledgement of their efforts is a real motivator for them to perform even better. We certainly pay attention to our guest feedback as it will help us to enhance the quality of service and pave our way towards excellence. I am obviously disappointed and please accept my sincere apologies for the inconveniences you were subjected to and regret that some elements of our establishment have not been to your entire expectations. I do sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity of welcoming you back at our resort in the future to give you a full satisfactory experience. Kind Regards, Ivan. C Cluster General Manager

Firstly I need to compliment the wonderful staff at Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette, we have stayed in multiple resorts across the island and the staff at Redisson is hands down the warmest, most helpful team we have encountered. From housekeeping, front desk, food and beverage - everyone was fantastic to deal with.

Rooms are very comfortable, good mattresses and bedding with decent water pressure in the showers and always plentiful hot water (which has been a problem at other places). Modern aircon units that work well is a plus.

Fair food selection with a noticeable effort being made to avoid food wastage. We spent Christmas here and there was an enjoyable festive feeling with a delicious spread of food for the evening. Take the time to make a booking to eat at Aqua at least one evening, the food on the dinner A La Carte menu is amazing!

Entertainment while well performed was a bit too mellow for the evenings, would have been nice to have some more upbeat pop songs being played or a DJ more evenings as it woul have been fun to have a chance to dance a bit.

The only complaint we had was the lack of fans/aircon in the main dining hall. Its very warm/humid and rather uncomfortable having meals which was a pity and the only thing that we struggled with.

As with everywhere on the island, expect a few stray dogs and cats around. The ones at Radisson were all sterilized (I'm a veterinarian, I checked 😁) and in fairly good condition. Dogs were a bit noisy but otherwise didn't actively bother guests and we always enjoy having the animals around so it never bothered us. If you're an animal lover, I recommend bringing some flea treatments with to donate to the organizations helping them.

Excellently located hotel right on a stunning beach. Well laid out hotel with pool and sun deck offering amazing views. There are 2 restaurants with good tasty food on offer. The drinks are a wide selection and generous in their supply. There is a variety of pool and beach side activities available. Plenty of sunbeds and areas to relax by the lower bar, with snacks and meals served there too.
Hotel rooms were immaculately cleaned and linens and towels changed whenever required. The WiFi could be a little slow at times, but with a few hundred guests it's not surprising.
The Spa , gym and upper lounge area was generous. If you get the chance have a massage, the ladies were very attentive and the massage was one of the best we have had on our travels
The hotel staff were very attentive and almost waited hand and foot on you, and nothing was ever any problem. Always they were wiling to help you with or get what you needed, from day to day wants to taxis and helping with excursions
The only thing we would change would be the evening entertainment. Wherever we travel to they always play all the English schools or have local artists who tailor to the English sounds. Would be nice to hear more of the local sounds and cultures. Other than that we would highly recommend a stay here in the beautiful hotel and location, with most attentive and helpfull of staff we have encountered on our travels
Will be seeing them again soon for another visit

Even though the hotel may not be very new in some places, it is still perfect for spending a wonderful holiday.

We had a double room in the "Superior Beach Front" category and were lucky enough to be on the ground floor. Here you have direct access to the beach from the terrace.

Since there is high humidity in Mauritius, you can sometimes feel this in the rooms. However, there is a setting on the air conditioning to reduce the humidity.

The chambermaids always tried very hard to conjure up great creations made of flowers on the bed and the minibar was also restocked every day.

The buffet restaurant had a different theme every evening during our 10 days there. The food was varied, well seasoned and, even if you arrived a little later, it was still warm.

You can't complain about breakfast and lunch either, even if the variety wasn't quite as great. You can always find something and the staff make a lot of effort to always replenish if a dish is almost finished.
There are even German-speaking staff at reception and at the beach bar. Even if we don't expect that, it's still nice.

One evening we decided to book the beach candlelight dinner. It costs extra, but it's worth every euro. We were served excellently and the food was delicious.

There is an entertainment program during the day. But it's so discreet that you almost don't notice it if you don't want to be there.

The pool area and the beach are well stocked with loungers, so you can almost always find a free spot.

However, as mentioned in some other posts, it should be pointed out again at this point that bathing shoes are absolutely recommended for going into the sea, as the reef begins just a few meters into the water.

However, this is an advantage for all enthusiastic snorkelers - we were able to marvel at a very large variety of sea creatures.

All in all, a fantastic vacation - we would love to come back.
