Terrible Experience- The entire staff is absolutely terrible at the basics to hospitality. The international staff here are very good but the Thai staff absolutely do not care about their profession. Expect a lot of small things, late responses, late pick ups , late everything to build up- wrong names on rooms - taking luggage to wrong room- and more - it will all add up to a boiling point. It’s a great small private island but unfortunately the majority of the Thai staff are not professional - it’s not training issue either- they simply do not care about their job and their tone/facial expressions will tell you that. But they will greet you 100 times a day, that’s not what I’m looking for Marriot!
We chose Naka island following recommendation from Trailfinders and we were not disappointed as the resort was designed to provide a peaceful retreat with enough things to do if you wanted. The resort had some lovely touches and made full use of it location and private beach. The management and staff were excellent and went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely stay. There was a choice of restaurants with the Tonsai providing a fantastic breakfast and then a Thai choice for lunch and dinner, although the choices were a bit safe. The MyGrill offered a a range of grilled meat and fish although was a bit limited when ordering from Half board menu. The Rum Chapel was a bit Tex-Mex but offered outside sitting and a bit less formal set up. All good quality but felt a bit like an introduction to Thai cuisine than a full experience. Beer and cocktails were reasonably priced but the wine was expensive and of varying quality. The beach and pool were excellent, but as the beach was tidal you needed to keep an eye on the tides for swimming in the sea. Fantastic sunsets, best seen either from sunbed or ZBar with Cocktail or two. Staff on the waterfront were fantastic and set up 'our' choice of sunbeds every morning complete with towels and water and the throughout day delivered free fruit kebab, ice creams and happy hour drinks. Took a free round the island trip and was a bit surprised to find out that we were not alone as around the other side of the island was a big public beach, which looked like it provided tourist boats from Phuket with a day trip. Very busy with some eating and drinking facilities. None of this had any effect on the Naka Island resort hotel. It actually made for a nice outing with a beautiful beach to walk along. Overall would highly recommend it and would thank all the management and staff for their attention to detail and service. …
Wonderful resort, with well maintained villas and good food at multiple restaurants. Perhaps the greatest asset of this Marriott resort is the staff. Very helpful and looking to make the guests stay better in many ways. The facilities/grounds are kept up nicely, with staff busy every morning cleaning the pools and grounds. The Concierge staff was very helpful as well, with perhaps the only stumble being a less than efficient checkout, where timing had been laid out a day prior. The Z Bar and sunset ceremonies are a nice touch; and a wonderful venue at any time they're open. Good location for venturing out on day activities into Phang Nga Bay and the Andaman Sea.
Stayed here in August 2022 and since then I’ve been longing to come back. The views are spectacular and the villa was amazing and spacious. The staff were very friendly and professional. Since we were celebrating our daughter’s 1st birthday, they were kind enough to offer us an upgrade and served us cake and more. This place is like heaven, especially after staying in crowded Phuket. We had best experience ever and will definitely stay here again.
The Naka Island is a wonderful idyllic place to stay for a relaxing and luxurious beach stay. We didn’t know where to stay in Phuket but knew it couldn’t be near all the partying. This ended up perfect! A short 5 minute speed boat ride from the Ao Po Marina to the private island. Arrival is started with a gong, welcome drink, cold towel, then a golf cart ride to the villa. The villas/rooms are spread out on the island, very rustic, romantic and private. The bathroom was separate from the bedroom but I ended up loving the indoor/outdoor feel! Very comfortable bed, slept so well under the romantic net and good AC. The food here was top notch! We did the “half board” package which added dinner to each night for us. 3 courses at each restaurant. A phenomenal deal because the portions were substantial. We were stuffed after every meal. Beautiful food presentation, delicious food, and the breakfast buffet was the best we had in Thailand. The main pool was big, had chairs in shallow areas and shaded throughout the day, wonderful to sit and enjoy the beautiful island views. Don’t sleep on Z Bar at the edge of the island. Worth the hike (or just ask for a buggy/golf cart ride) to enjoy drinks and the sunset views. Wonderful for late night drinks too. The spa massage experience was fantastic as well. Start with the sauna, steam and ice room experience! The ice room was clutch after our long sunny day on the boat tour. Never seen one at a hotel before! Every single staff member was kind, patient and prepared to assist you with anything you need. Shout out to Sopa who helped us arrange a private Phi Phi Islands tour and kept in constant contact to make sure it all went smoothly. This resort is on its own island. There are mosquitoes but they provide bug spray everywhere. It wasn’t terrible, just be prepared! As an FYI, once you take the 5-min speedboat back to the Marina, it’s about 35-45 drive to Phuket Old Town if you want to explore more of the city. Hotel will arrange a taxi for you. …
Honestly, I didn't expect much from the resort at it's a bit away from the noisy nightlife of Phuket. But the staff and the property exceeded my expectations. I recommend this place to all the families and couples who want to have a relaxed yet beautiful time. You will meet across amazing staff members such as Hong and Bank. The best out there is Danielle. He gave us a complete tour of Phuket in half an hour by his words and experience. Special thanks to the GM David who dropped us once to our villa in a buggy and we were truly delighted. Lovely people, lovely place.

We loved everything about this hotel and had a fantastic time. Apart from the beautiful decor and peaceful ambiance, the service was exceptional. The staffs were so friendly. The food was so delicious. All in all, we love the Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa Phuket
This is the second time we have been to Naka Island, and it won't be the last. It is exceptional in every way if you want a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings. There are activities if you want them during the day. Evenings are relaxing mainly around the restaurants. The outreach programme with the local school is a great thing for Marriott and guests to do. Most of all the staff are wonderful. We can't name them all but Sandeep, the Executive Chef, goes out of his way to ensure the food is delicious and guests have everything they need. Pom runs the restaurant very well. Also a big thank you to Mew, Daisy and Paku in the Z Bar. We loved talking to you. Service of this quality doesn't happen by accident - David the General Manager is ever present and very welcoming. We were sad to leave this morning but there is no doubt we will be back again and again. …
What a phenomenal stay on Naka Island! I have truly never slept at a better resort! Here are a few of my favourite things about our stay: Staff: The staff made our stay incredibly special! Bua, Chris, Bee, and Cookie are some of the most attentive people that we met. We are truly grateful to have met them and interacted with them, as they are the best team! Activities: You can never be bored here! Everyday they offer all kinds of different activities: yoga, pilates, cooking class, Crystal singing bowls meditation, mangrove kayaking, visiting the indigenous village near the hotel, sunset ceremony, jet ski, paddle board, and so much more. We did quite a lot of things and I feel like we could have done so much more if we stayed a few more days. I really enjoyed the variety of things to do! Villa: We stayed at a villa with a private pool and a beautiful view of the ocean. It was a dream come true, what a beautiful setting. I am in love with the design and the interior of the villas, we almost did not want to leave the villa. There are 4 sun beds in total so we were just switching between being in the sun and in the shade. There are a lot of sitting areas, which was really cool. I really enjoyed the floating breakfast that we did in our pool. It was such a cool experience. Beach and pool: I loved the pool at our private villa, but when we wanted to be surrounded by people, we were going to the main pool, it's absolutely beautiful. I loved watching the sunset on the beach everyday and going for a dip in the ocean, it was pure magic. The pink sky everyday was the perfect way to finish a long day. Food: I have never seen better breakfast at a hotel! There is absolutely everything that you can think of. My favorite was the banana muffin, and the crepes that they made in a heart shape for Valentine's Day. There is a happy hour for ice cream everyday for 2 hours, so I loved all of the flavours that I tried. We tried all of the restaurants for dinner and I loved the lamb chops and the tuna. There is also happy hour for cocktails and we enjoyed them a lot. Spa: Hands down the most beautiful spa I have seen at a hotel. I have never seen such an amazing design! I did the signature indigenous massage and loved it! Overall, I could not recommend Naka Island enough! As a couple, we both loved it very much and all of the guests that we spoked to said that they loved it too! If you are wondering whether you should visit the hotel, it is true luxury experience, peaceful and tranquil which you will leave with great memories!…
