Insh Hall is great value - a sort of midway between a hostel and B&B. You get continental breakfast in the boat house restaurant a short walk from the hall. I had a room with one bunkbed in, plus wash basin, and shared use of shower and loos. Access never an issue. Thick curtains kept the light out. Heating on... More

I was sort of expecting B&B/guesthouse and so was disappointed. It is pretty basic. We had room 17, a tiny single room, and room 20, a twin/sometimes double. On entering room 17 it was freezing and uninviting, but at least with it being so small it didn't take long to heat up once I turned on the radiator. The rooms... More

Stayed here whilst on the East Highland Way and can safely say it was comfy, secluded and the views were stunning. We staying in Room 3 at Insh Hall and it was very practical for us being walkers aswell. The guys running the accomodation got us quickly settled and with a little orienteering we figured the place out. It has... More

I stayed here before and after a Canoeing expedition in October 2015. comfy beds/dorms, nice hot showers, good community/TV room, good drying room, friendly staff. pleasant looking and i felt rather comfortable here. There wasnt many of us here, easy to park, some cabins have hottubs. Would look to stop here again for another scotland trip. Didn't have trouble finding... More

We stopped here for the night before heading up the cairngorm mountain to go skiing. Price was fantastic for the two of us to stay and rooms had what we needed. The bar was welcoming and open late so we could enjoy a drink and had breakfast there in the morning which was delicious. Will definitely be back

Fantastic spot for active kids, a real adventure holiday where they will never be bored!!! Highly recommend this spot. They have a few playgrounds and lots of water sports to get involved with. Some of the chalets also have hot tubs which is great after skiing.

Came easter weekend for some snowboarding which fell through thanks to the wind. Luckily this hotel was in a great location and we made the most of the weekend by visiting Loch Ness, the wildlife reserve and Chanonry Point (unfortunately no dolphin). The room was located in the main hall and was spacious and warm with good amenities such as... More

We stopped here for an overnight stay in November last year and it was disappointing. I have previously stayed in one of the cabins and that was great but the hall which is hostel type accommodation was poor. Over the last 13 years or so we have often stayed in hostels and all you expect is a good drying room,... More
