Insh Hall is a nice place to stay and we are thinking of returning; however, I would make a couple of changes. On the main website it is labelled as a bunkhouse; however, I would say it is more than this. A bunkhouse (in my mind) is one below a hostel, with shared dorms, shared bathroom facilities, self-catering kitchen, and... More

I traveled to Kincraig with the intent of exploring the land of my forefathers. However, when I got there, most of the B&Bs were booked. One of the innkeepers recommended Loch Insh Hall, and I'm glad he did. Everything about this place was perfect. The setting was breathtaking with a view over Loch Insh (CRAZY sunsets and sunrises); the restaurant... More

Excellent location - it is right on the loch. Stayed in a room with 5 bunk beds in it. It is nice and comfortable for 5 people. Kept tidy. Do not expect much as this is essentially a hostel type accommodation. Free equipment for the water-sports was an added bonus! Only drawback was that it didnt have a kitchen. The... More

Great place for a family holiday. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom chalets. It was comfortable and clean. They had everything we needed for our stay. Spartan, but in the positive sense of the term. Nice trails to hike on (out the door and nearby). Boating equipment was available for our use (free before 10, after 4).

It reminds me of resort villages from the 70's, very home like feeling and you feel that the kids are safe to roam around. We stayed there with our teenegers, but due to rain and low temp. we could not take advantage of all the watersport activities. We stayed in two seperate rroms in the Lodge. rooms are small but... This is a great place for a family trip. There is lots for everyone to do, the instructors for all the sports are fantastic, the restaurant is great but has strange opening hours. The accommodation is very basic but very comfortable. The bedding and towels could do with an update! I counted 8 notices with rules and instructions in our... More

Hot tub meant the kids could do free early morning and late afternoon water activities, then warm up in the hot tub. wood burning stove was all set to go. Staff were really helpful and friendly. the loch provide your own osprey... More

Stayed 3 nights here with son on an end of season mission to Cairngorm Mountain. It had everything we were needing, good food, a place to rest and relax after a long day snowboarding, fantastic views across the loch and a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It is a family run place, was great to actually meet some of them,... More

We arrived here after day 4 walking the East Highland Way. My only gripe with this place wasn't that we weren't allowed to check in early (to a clean and ready to use) room, but the glee with which the brittle receptionist told us we couldn't. When we did check in, a friendly staff member showed us to our neat... More

The location was excellent with amazing views of the lake! It was also a perfect location to visit the wildlife park, which we absolutely loved. We had dinner in their restaurant as well which we enjoyed. Breakfast was really good with a full selection of warm food. For us, the room was cold. We are from a warm climate so... More
