Overview: Overall I would say our holiday was quite good. It very much depends on the type of holiday you're looking for and the people you're going with. This is a fairly good resort for families but not so much for young groups of people who want things to do in the evenings as well. Travel: Getting to and from the hotel is a nightmare. I would recommend using public transport which cost us £25 each instead of the recommended taxi transfer of £250. Location: The views are amazing, but there is nothing to do in this location. No bars or restaurants apart from the hotel. Slopes: The slopes were quite minimal and we found ourselves on the same tracks several times throughout the week. The ski-hire place was good. They were helpful and polite. I recommend booking ski hire through the hotel as its cheaper than third party organisations. We were unfortunate with the weather and a lot of the slopes were closed when we got there due to lack of snow. You will also want to book a ski lesson (if you want them) prior to getting there as my friend left it until the day we got there and ended up with an instructor who didn't speak any English. The food in the cafeteria on the mountain was good and cheap. Hotel: The hotel was nice, rooms were clean and tidy. Pretty basic but did the job. Our shower head didn't stay up so it was quite annoying having to hold it whilst we showered by there you go. We had a pretty good view as well. Spa is quite nice, they have a gym and a children's area as well so facilities in this hotel are quite good. Food: Pretty bad. If you're a picky eater you wont want to eat here. Staff: The staff were always nice and helpful. I hurt my thumb and was holding ice against it during dinner and one of the waiters wrapped some ice up in a bag for me! Receptionist was always friendly and helpful.

This family owned and run hotel and ski resort is a hidden gem, which I am almost reluctant to share as it is just perfect in every respect. The hotel is modern, well appointed and maintained, with the warmest friendliest staff imaginable, nothing is too much trouble. From the moment you are welcomed at reception until it's time to say goodbye, its just an absolute delight. Excellent food, good choice of Italy wines all very reasonably priced. The ski resort is close by with a good shuttle service and a good range of slopes. Superb!! '

We booked with Secret escapes, and it was an all in package, we had a look on line and thought it all looked good, but it was so much better than the photos, they dont do it justice. It is a very clean and very pretty hotel. The staff were amazing as friends of ours decided to join us just two weeks before and I emailed the hotel to see if they had room and Sanja, was so helpful and gave them the same package as we had. The food was very tasty and the voucher for lunch was a real bonus, liked being able to have a jacuzzi, sauna and steam after a days skiing and then a glass of house wine 1.50 euro a glass!! Definately it was made by the excellent snow conditions and the blue skies, but for the two days skiing and the four day break it was fantastic!! Thank you.

Four middle aged and balding chaps selected this place off the back of a Wowcher Voucher. Based on the price our expectations were moderate at best. How wrong we were. Maniva is a hidden gem. In the days prior to arrival anxiety was high due to the little snow they’d received over recent weeks. We were concerned and looking at nearby resorts we could take a trip to in order to get the skis on. Miracles do happen. On arriving at the ski lifts we saw that the pistes were well covered and extremely well maintained. Yes some of the runs were closed but those that were open were superb. The resort staff had obviously worked tirelessly to prepare the pistes for the holiday makers. Bravo. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted with a warm welcome by the most polite and vivacious Receptionist you could wish for. Helpful to the max all throughout our stay, even joining in for a game of Uno one evening. Facilities were superb with the wellness centre a great way to unwind. All areas of the hotel exceptionally clean. Food was fantastic with a great range of locally sourced meals. On spending probably too much time in the bar each evening we were expecting a hefty bill but were pleasantly surprised by the bill we received. More than reasonable. All in all a wonderful Hotel, great staff, lovely facilities, superb food, awesome value. We look forwards to returning.

First thing I can say about this hotel is: incredible value for money. We bought a 3 night snowboarding trip from Weekender Breaks paying £179pp for everything other than transfers which worked out around £200 but we wouldn’t have driven it so we were happy to pay it! Others in the hotel hired cars from the airport and I’ve heard that was alot cheaper! The only thing we had to pay for while there was our drinks. Breakfast was simple with a few options of eggs and meat. Cereals, pastries, fruit and drinks. A big plus for us was soya milk available for all. At lunch time we got vouchers to use at Maniva Ski Resort (2 large slices of pizza or a panini, chips and drink! All delicious!) Evening meal was a set 3 course meal with a choice of 3 for each course, see image of menu for one night. We were worried as we are vegetarian (vegan where we can) but hadn’t mentioned to the hotel in advance. We were very happy to see that there was a lot of vegetarian options and where there was not, they adapted the meal for us which was greatly appreciated!! All staff were extremely friendly and although there was a language barrier with most, they were very eager to help. The receptionist’s (Sanja) English is perfect and she helped us a lot. We got a lift down to the resort by the manager and once by someone who worked at Manvia Ski (they seem to all help each other out) which was brilliant as there was not a lot of snow and it’s usually on piste down to the resort but it would have been a 20 min walk otherwise. We got a spa visit included in the price also, its only a small and simple spa but definitely helped after a day on the slopes and how can I complain when it is complimentary. It is definitely a hidden gem and probably more suitable for couples or a few close friends who just want to do a little bit of skiing and then relax as it is a very quiet resort, everything is closed up by 10pm. We would definitely go back and I hope this resort starts to get the custom it deserves as its really lovely! A side note... if you’re interested in boarding check out Fabio Ne.W Crew at Maniva Ski, brilliant instructor and really helped us!
