We actually wanted to stay for 5 nights in this place but left after the first night. The good thing was, that the owner agreed to cancel our booking for the remaining 4 nights without charging them. This was because we agreed to stay in an upgrade room for 1.400 Baht per night. At first we booked a lower standard room. We arrived at around 12 am and where told, that our room will be ready one our later. The lady at the reception told us that we could go to a restaurant down the road to grab something to eat while waiting. There was absolutely no restaurant or bar in this “resort”! The lady at the reception also told us that we could rent a motorbike at a place down the road (no rental Service at the Wazzah Resort). But after a long trip we just wanted to wait for our room and get a shower - one hour waiting time was ok for us. After a while the lady at the reception mentioned, that there is another room available but without pool view. We didn’t care about the view and agreed to take this room. It was a nightmare... the door wasn’t closing properly (big gaps at door and windows), lots of mosquitos in the room, ants at the bathroom sink. The room was just dark and smelled moldy. No TV in the room, holes in the walls. I couldn’t imagine to stay just one night there. So we decided to wait for our actual room. To be fair I have to say that the lady let us shower in this first room and that was very nice. So we were sitting and waiting again. Then the other owner came to us and started to ask which room we had booked. That was a confusing conversation. After a while his wife came to us again and told us, that the shower in our pool view room was broken. They needed another 30 minutes for repairing it. We still said that we wanted to wait and not to take the first room that they showed us. Suddenly there was another available room, but it was more expansive that the one we booked. They showed it to us and it was really ok. Bright light and a really nice view to the seaside (also no ants in the bathroom and no mosquitos but also with gaps in the front door). So we arranged to stay for one night there and paid 1.400 Baht for the better room. In the evening there was I big fight between the owner and a really angry guest. We were sitting at the balcony and heard them screaming at each other. The guest was very upset about her room and wanted to cancel her booking and leave immediately and she didn‘t want to pay one bit. After about one our of screaming and arguing the guest left after paying a part of her booking. That was really awkward and we were very happy to leave this place on the next day. So the upstair rooms in the Bungalows are terrible, there is no restaurant or bar nearby and you have to walk down the hill to get to shops and restaurants and the beach.…
We stayed 6 nights at Wazzah Resort Bungalows and really enjoyed our stay. The room was big enough and clean. The staff was really friendly, helpfull and even gave us a free upgrade to a room with an amazing view to the sea. The pool was nice and clean. We rent a motorcycle at the hotel. With the motorcycle it took about 5 minutes to get to Maenam Beach and around 10 minutes to fishermans village. I would say that if you cannot ride a motorcycle it is difficult to get everywhere by foot. If we’ll come back to Koh Samui we would stay at Wazzah Resort again!
A nice budget quiet hotel with a nice swimming pool. The owner is extremely friendly. We come every year while in Samui. Own transport is recommended or hire a bike from the hotel as its up a slight hill.
In the middle of nowhere, no tv in rooms, no restaurant,no bar...i paid deposit on booking.com..after 2 nights, they said i had to pay in full for whole stay..immediately...they new i was not happy...anyway, i did pay it in full...but so bored i checked out 2 weeks early...no jeep / car hire...only old bikes...u have been warned...i advise extreme caution ...dont book if price too cheap...u will regret.
First of all you have to remember that comparing to other accommodation you didn't pay a lot. The resort is old but clean. The only thing that made us really furious was the breakfast - 140 bahts for three pieces of toast, jam, nutella and beverage? But I must say the lady at the front desk solved it to our satisfaction. Overall I think you would find a much better places but this one is good enough if you don't want anything special just something to spent a night at.
