First time ever doing Detox in the hope of getting my health back on track and losing some weight. I was only at the resort for 4 full days but got what I was hoping for PLUS, PLUS!!! Despite the fact that I was the only guest due to tourist (COVID) travel restrictions, there were no shortcuts and I benefited from the total experience. I will begin with the TEAM. Khun Banana did an excellent job helping me keep in track with my schedule and generally looking out for me. He was my walking partner in the morning for a brisk 8 KM. From there he shepherded me through my daily schedule and made sure anything I needed was handled. Edit, Health/fitness Program Manager) gauged what I was looking for during our first visit and ensured that I pushed myself sufficiently. I was sore but in a really good way that didn’t make it impossible for me to function after our workouts. She was also very helpful in understanding the menu and supporting my plan and next steps to maintain my progress when I returned home with an eating and exercise plan. Khun MiMi, the nurse, supported my health consultation and results review letting me know what to expect during my stay and when I go home. She is friendly, patient and helpful always willing to visit or just let me have quiet time during IV treatment. The rest of the staff (including the cook) are there making everything run smoothly but are totally in the background maintaining the rooms and grounds in pristine condition. The PROGRAM STRUCTURE absolutely lent itself to delivering success in this beautiful environment. My schedule was clearly communicated on day one and the team stuck to it like glue. I knew exactly what to expect when and I really appreciated the fact that there was plenty to keep me busy and away from “real life distractions” which was exactly what I was looking for. The schedule started with your walk at 6:30 AM and the day ended around 6:30 after a DELICIOUS bowl of soup every evening. There were breaks during the day where I could grab a book and read by the pool for 30 or 45 minutes if I wanted. The FACILITY is very new and in excellent condition. It definitely felt very purpose built and the team uses it to it’s best benefit/purpose. Clean rooms, open area for meals, beautiful pool and clean new gym. All treatment rooms, sauna, steam, massage were spotless as were the grounds lending to the overall pleasant/comfortable experience. I will definitely be returning to New Leaf to continue my progress (hopefully quarterly) and take advantage of this great program. BTW, never felt hungry once and, as I said above, every single thing served (from the tea, to the juices, to the salad) was top notch. Even during my short stay, I lost a good amount of weight and my blood pressure improved. I highly recommend New Life if you want to dip your toe into the “Detox” experience. You will not be disappointed from the time the driver (Khun Nik) picks you up in his spotless Ford until he returns you to the airport safe and sound feeling ready to TAKE ON THE WORLD!!! 😃👍

I spent the day at New Leaf Detox Resort and was treated with such care, respect and as a special guest. I came to do colonic hydrotherapy and was greeted by Nurse Mimi, a warm, very experienced Thai wellness practitioner and nurse. Mimi’s English is excellent and she looked after my every need. They do an open system colonic here (similar to Angel of Water) if you’ve done it elsewhere but with 40+ Liters of water. First they do about 25 L of water then 20-25L of organic coffee. If you’ve never done colon cleaning before, this is the way to do it. Gentle and effective. Mimi supports with belly massage and her kind energy the whole way through. The facilities are gorgeous as well. You’re in a room with shower and bathroom on the beautiful grounds of New Leaf. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this TO ANYONE. Especially Nurse Mimi. I’ve had at least 10 colonics and I’ve never had someone with such great care and spirit as Mimi. She is a total gem.

I usually do a detox once a year. It's a great recharge and you meet some fascinating people. Trouble is, a lot of them are run by vegetarian/vegan zealots who are really preachy and think it's fine to lecture you on how you live your life after the detox. I caught one vegan Tai-Chi/Yoga teacher eating a chicken Kebab outside of the resort at one place. I'm also not into the whole 'spiritual' thing - and a lot of them ram that down your throat. So New Leaf - nothing is pushed at you, you don't have people lecturing you about stuff but there is yoga and meditation if you want it. I have found many of these resorts to be run down but New Leaf is new, it's modern. It's got a great pool, it's clean as a whistle and a decent gym too. The diet is not as minimalistic as other resorts. You have a choice of the fruit-based juices and then the "harder core veggie juices". The fruit juice-based diet is VERY cleverly designed - you simply won't get hungry. You get a breakfast and heartier lunch juice and soup in the evening. It's designed to go hand in hand with their program: - 6am walk - water aerobics - daily special activity like Muay Thai - daily yoga - daily massage I myself prefer to do my own thing. I did a 5k run in the morning and a 1-mile swim in the afternoon (I'm 50 years young). At no point during my 28-day stay did I feel that I lacked energy or that I really needed to eat. Only 1 time did I feel the need for an electrolyte drink (which they provide). I can't explain this - but it is a well-designed program. I got there at 82.5kg and left at 72.5kg - more than 10% of my bodyweight. The staff are also amazing. The guys who rotate being in charge - Lucky, Banana, Sky were all quite happy to sit and have a chat. I even spent the day with Lucky on his day off seeing the sites and driving round the island. Edit the Yoga/Areobics teacher is great, able to take on people at all levels and also able to help you with your goals and give advice on exercise etc. Mimi the nurse there is hilarious - and very good at her job. Like the others, she had perfect English skills and we spent lots of time chatting about life in general. The other staff, the cooks, cleaners were also great and many of those spoke English too - staff selection tops off what is a great way to relax, recharge and emerge a new you. Gardens are beautiful. You get Netflix in your room. Colema's are done in a dedicated building and Sauna and Steam room are effective. After being to over a dozen detox resorts, New Leaf is going to be my go-to for my annual fast/detox.

I can't say enough good things about my experience at New Leaf. I came in as what you'd call a 'high maintenance' client -- heavy drinker and smoker, overweight, high blood pressure, terrible diet and very little exercise for months. I won't sugar-coat it, the initial days were a difficult adjustment for me, but the staff were all very understanding and attentive. Mimi, the staff nurse, went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that I was able to cope with this drastic lifestyle change -- I can't thank her enough!. The Program Director, Edit, was absolutely incredible. On top of being an unbelievable physical coach, she was caring, empathetic, knowledgeable about everything under the sun, and approached every day with a smile. Make no mistake, she will work you hard as well! But she seems to have an instinct for exactly what everyone's limit is -- and then gradually pushed us to exceed those limits without us even realizing it. Daily walks with Sam (when I was capable of doing them) were always entertaining and he brought the same easygoing nature and humor that seems to be the norm at New Leaf. Banana, Lucky, and the rest of the hospitality staff were fast, efficient, and extremely flexible no matter what requests were put forward. Everyone from the cleaning staff, masseuses, gardeners, and security went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome at every opportunity. This is a testament to the owners Kris and Khun Air -- excellent communicators and they obviously know exactly how to hire an amazing group of people to operate the facility. I ended up losing over 10kg in my two-week stay, lowered my blood pressure significantly, and most importantly, came away with a new outlook and new strategies to deal with the stresses and obstacles that life can throw at me. I'm committed to making a visit to New Leaf a yearly excursion and can't wait to get back. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a physical and mental reset.

Where do I start? I was a little unsure of what to expect having never done a detox before. After a bit of research, New Leaf presented as the right option for me to achieve a few things I was after - breaking bad eating habits, losing weight, and improving my general health and well-being. It certainly hit the mark on all levels. The facilities are simply amazing - lovely swimming pool, excellent fitness centre with stunning views of the beach, modern steam rooms and sauna. The rooms were excellent - very comfortable, functional, private and with all you need for your stay. The staff were also amazing, and that includes the whole team. Special mention to Edit who lead our training sessions and was super motivating and willing to share her knowledge on nutrition and exercise. Also a big thanks to Sammy for leading the morning walks, along with KP. You really get the 5-star treatment in excellent facilities. Although the meals consisted of only juices, shakes and soups, the quality and taste of these was exceptional. There was an excellent range of options across the 10 days I stayed, and the flavours were incredible. The program itself was also structured brilliantly, with long morning walks, aqua aerobics, and afternoon sessions including Muay Thai, Pilates, strength conditioning, Thai Cooking classes, and daily Yoga sessions. There was enough downtime and plenty of opportunity to do your own thing. The beach by the resort is excellent for walking with lovely views across to Koh Phangnan. Lastly, the results of the program were excellent. Beyond shedding kg's and slimming down, my whole core strength has improved and I feel completely invigorated. I cannot thank all of the team at New Leaf for being so wonderful and supportive, and highly recommend the program for anyone looking to recharge and make positive changes for their health and well-being.
