We arrived in the late evening and left early morning the next day. The manager Sugar welcomed us right off the taxi and showed us to our bungalow. We had a couple of great drinks at the bar , also made by Sugar. The resort and the bungalow are very clean and pleasant. There is a back gate right on to the ferry terminal, which is about 250m of walk.
Hi Everyone, Phalarn inn hôtel is super well located in a peaceful and rural area by the seaside close to the pier. The beach behind the hotel is clean and the water as well. Sugar the owner is customer oriented and very personable. She always cares for the welfare of her customers. The cooks are amazing and the food is super fresh. The hotel is surrounded by a peaceful garden and is 30mns drive from the airport. I highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed 5 nights here and it was a good place to stay. Sugar is a good host and made sure that everything worked. The place consists of stand-alone bungalows, which have a double bedroom and bathroom. Everything worked pretty well in the room. They do a selection of stuff for breakfast, which was welcome. Not sure if they do food later on, but Sugar's brother has a restaurant right across the road. We were able to order one night and they carried it over to us, so we could eat in the bar. Laundry got done for 50B/kg (pretty standard rate for Thailand). We asked about getting to Surat Thani airport and Sugar arranged a ferry + bus combo. There are a few restaurants within 100m or so. It's about 500m off the main road that circles the island. For us, that separation was perfect, meaning you're away from the central tourist bits. Everything is still aimed at tourism - pretty much the whole of Ko Samui is in one way or another. There are a couple of nearby supermarkets within 100m. The night market is on the main road, and that's also the place where the songthaews go along if you want to get around. It's very close to a ferry terminal for boats to Koh Tao, and also right next to the beach. The bar was newly opened when we stayed. Fairly quiet. If you want more craziness, there are other bars in the centre of Mae Nam or out near the main road. We had a car, so not sure about taxis. I am sure Sugar would be able to arrange them if required. The only downside was that the wifi didn't reach as far as the room. We had to go and sit in the restaurant or by the pool to connect. Not a massive problem in the grand scheme of things, but nice if you have it. Overall, a nice budget place, and I'd stay again if we come back to Ko Samui.…
Stayed there one night, just to get the morning boat to koh tao. It's less than a minute walk to the pier. I booked the fan bungalow. Didn't expect much luxury, but the bed mattress was completely worn down and can really hurt your back. It should have been replaced some years ago already. Also, the sink tap wasn't working so I had to brush my teeth in the shower. Staff is very nice though, and place is clean.
Very unprofessional approach to running this hotel. When first shown our room it looked nothing like the photos. It was very small and dirty. My pillow stank of old sweat. Very little to do in the surrounding area. There is a nice looking very quiet beach nearby but the water is filthy. Pool was quite nice however. Tried to book a day trip through them which they advertised but the people working there spoke minimal English so when we wanted to ask them a question we had to walk to the local supermarket to get the lovely lady there to call the company for us and call back to the hotel for us. We were told on arrival that there was a 24 hour reception, yet numerous times there were no staff to be found anywhere. We had an issue in that we got locked out of out room at about 11pm. There was no one to assist us with this issue. Eventually we saw some local children that had been playing in the pool earlier in the day.We had to ask them to ask their parents help us. Turns out the hotel didn't even keep a spare key so we were completely locked out of our own room. We were given a key to a different hut to stay in. Equally as basic and dismal. We had originally booked 3 nights but left after the first. Terrible experience, would not recommend to anyone!! The food we ordered didn't arrive correctly on the evening and the eggs in the morning had to be sent back as only half of the white was cooked. The previous …
