Ok so first question: Would I stay here again, well yes. The staff were extremely pleasant from reception to restaurant and bars and the amenities justify its rating but there are a few little things that let it down. Firstly we had a deluxe sea room which was very nice but we had to empty the coffee machine of waste and old water before we could use it. On the second day we had to wash our cups and glasses as they weren’t changed the previous day. On our last morning they knocked to ask if we wanted more coffee, but a little late for that now. Not so bad but those touches are necessary for a 5 star service. Secondly the main pool looked stunning but look behind the surface and you see the dirt on the tiles and foliage on the bottom from the garden. Lesser hotels we have visited have pools cleaned every day to avoid such dirt. Food was very good from breakfast to dinner and again service was great with very helpful and attentive staff. So a few things to sharpen up on to justify a 5 star resort.

We love the beautiful grounds in which the hotel is located. Everything is green, everything is very well maintained. The peninsula with its beautiful walking paths and many swimming opportunities is also great! The only criticism is that there should be a jetty or pontoons or something similar on the beach to make it easier to get into the water. You can't get into the water without bathing shoes, and I've seen a few people fall because the stones are not good for walking into the water. It would be great if this could be made easier in the future, because the beach is used primarily by older people or by people who can't climb ladders into the water. The hotel is very nice - although it's getting old. In our room, the shower was right next to the bed and didn't close properly - which meant that we had to "learn" how to shower without flooding half the bedroom. The large black stain on the parquet floor in front of the shower shows that the problem has been around for a long time. Putting a towel on the floor was not possible because the gap between the glass wall and the floor was far too narrow. Water was also available every day in the form of a free water bottle, which was very nice. The staff in general was also very nice, especially in the restaurant. After two days you were greeted like a good friend and some of the waiters even remembered our drink preferences. The food was also excellent, both at breakfast and at the evening buffet. The only flop was the barbecue evening, where a lot of the food was already cold or gone when we arrived. We also used one day as a spa day with massages and cosmetic treatments. Both were great - I can particularly recommend my facial treatment for stressed skin with aloe vera products. All in all, we love coming here on holiday once a year and can never get enough of the beautiful sunsets.

I stayed at this hotel during an organized trip to Croatia from Zadar to Dubrovnik. I was assigned a very large and bright room (an all-glass wall) with comfortable double bed and two sofas, equipped balcony, excellent soundproofing. Bathroom with 2 sinks, bath and shower, toilet and bidet. Everything perfectly clean and tidy even if at the end of the summer season. I can't say about conditionally as it's not used. Restaurant with very rich buffet appetizers, first and second courses a la carte choosing between two options, desserts and fruit buffet. Buffet breakfast: sweet and savoury very satisfying. Good food well packaged and presented, professional and kind waiting staff. Thank you Matija. Two swimming pools, one partially indoor, SPA not used. Large well-kept park equipped with sun loungers and very quiet despite numerous guests. In conclusion, at the end of the trip after staying in other 4 or 5 star hotels, in my opinion this is the best.

As long-time regulars, we are shocked by the development; the prices (especially in the off-season) almost outrageously raised and at the same time the performance drastically down. The rooms were refurbished, but this was already urgently needed. At dinner we were greeted (at a max 25% occupied hotel) with the words that almost all tables are occupied - no wonder if the tables are not cleared after leaving the guests; on our side table was not completely cleared (and certainly not covered) throughout our dinner. But that the service at dinner was not optimal we already knew from the past; for this the price was raised to 55 euros per person. The really negative surprise then at breakfast. It was omitted what was possible, no more freshly squeezed orange juice, instead of mineral water from the bottle there is shell water from the water dispenser, coffee instead of served to line up at the coffee machine, no more espesto cups, but standard cups for all hot drinks. And this motivated service employees who would rather stand around empty-handed than clear the tables.

The Falkensteiner Ladera hotel is located in Punta Skala near Zadar, in a private area where there are two other properties of the chain. It is a 5-star hotel with modern architecture, glass and steel, very bright with large internal and external spaces. Large gardens, two outdoor swimming pools and a lawn that slopes towards the pine forest and the pebbled and rocky beach. The possibility of positioning yourself with the sunbeds in the pine forest is beautiful, cool and shady, even if with a continuous concert of cicadas. The rooms, we had a Superior Sea Side, were nice and quite spacious, but with some flaws. Few drawers, there wasn't even one in the bedside table, to store clothes. Nowadays the 5 star guest usually travels with a lot of things in tow, so he wants to have more space One questionable thing is the open bathroom, divided from the bedroom only by light and transparent curtains. Beautiful but with no privacy, which is sometimes needed in the bathroom, not only for the view. The make-up mirror is missing, a serious lack for a woman, and as I always say, it's shameful that the bidet is missing!!! But how do people wash themselves after doing their business???? In the sink? In the tub? Or do you imagine everyone undressing to get into the shower?? Amazing in 2023 in a 5 star! The cuisine is just adequate and the quality is not excellent, on the contrary. How can it be that at dinner there is a choice between only two first courses and three second courses, one of which is geared towards vegans?? Among other things, first courses are poorly made or imaginative, such as Milanese risotto with peas and parsley! We save money with the appetizer and vegetable buffets, but they are repetitive and lacking in imagination. And then it's disappointing that in a seaside place, where the catch should be of a high standard, very little fish is served and the quality is poor and banal. Breakfast in line with what is expected, sweet and savory. Final gem: two themed evenings (Dalmatian and BB) really very subdued in terms of variety and quality of food, for example the desserts were 90% always the same, and with an aperitif which without being specified was charged to us at €18 ! I pointed this out at check out but they turned a deaf ear. Pilgrims. Prices are a bit pumped up anyway (mineral water 65cl at €6.50) especially for the wines, because let's remember, we are in Dalmatia not the Virgin Islands... Abundant and kind staff with some shortcomings and forgetfulness probably due to their young age. Not always fast, on the contrary. In short, synthetically promoted, but with just passing grades, certainly not with a high mark.

Very friendly at reception, but be careful, parking is charged extra and a deposit is required per day. The room was nice and spacious, the balcony was also very pleasant. The toilet in the closet took a bit of getting used to and the roll holder was not firmly attached. Nice big closet though, safe and minibar with price list available. Breakfast buffet was very good, especially the egg omelette was very lovingly and deliciously prepared. We had dinner twice as a buffet, which we really enjoyed, but Monday to Friday you had to choose between two starters and three main courses and we didn't like that so much. The portions were very, very small and you had to get a lot from the salad buffet to get enough. The service was not very friendly the first few days and you had to wait a long time even though there were few guests. At the end of the week there was a very polite and friendly middle-aged gentleman in service, who looked after all the guests equally in a very polite and attentive manner. The sauna area was very, very nice and the Haman treatment was also very well done. All in all, we expected a little more friendliness and for us the price-performance ratio was not there and it was definitely not 5 stars. But the location of the hotel is very nice!

Such a terrible terrible customer service experience!!!! Due to a medical emergency, we had to cancel our vacation, and we informed the hotel that we wanted to cancel our 4-night reservation. We even offered to show proof of our changed flight and pay for 1-2 nights. However, the hotel was completely unsympathetic, insisting that we pay for all the nights we couldn’t stay and refusing to allow any cancellation. This is absolutely unacceptable. Worst customer experience ever!!

We went for our anniversary and it was fantastic. The location is great, there is a private beach and you can see the mountains from your balcony window. We had advised that it was our anniversary in advance and they kindly upgraded us to a Junior Suite and put some towel Swans and rose petals in the room. The buffet, both breakfast and dinner, had a huge selection and catered for all tastes. We also ate at the on site a la carte restaurants and cannot fault the food or service. The hotel was mostly filled with tours so we were lucky to have the pools to ourselves most of the time and the weather was a lovely 23 degrees. We did use the indoor spa area for the pools and loungers- be mindful that the Black Spa with the Hammam, plunge pool and Saunas is a nude area only. Of particular note were Sime and Slawko (I hope I've spelt that correctly) who were warm and welcoming whenever we interacted with them. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others.

I went there with my parents,to catch some peace and quiet after hard working year. But everything we got was opposite. Hotel itself it’s smelly. Spa and pools are play grounds for children, which is not right. They are screaming and splashing water all around, parents teach them how to swim. Spa pools are not created for that. Spa is closing at 9pm,and we wanted to eat something around 6pm,but spa bar was closed, they are open just until 5pm,no sense. Dinner is serving just until 10pm,and no possibility to order room service after that. At 7pm hotel employee has entered into the room where my father was alone, and without any apologies, she just said:”wrong room”and walked out. Cosmopolitan cocktail l’ve ordered was everything but that. So, final summary ;it’s too bad and too expensive for five star hotel. My advice;avoiding this hole called five stars hotel.

Got stuck here once again thanks to my company dispatch.
Out in the middle of nowhere. No food choices. $65 mediocre buffet at night, breakfast is included and good 25 euro taxi into town, 45 minute wait for taxi Ridiculous room. I am sitting on a stupid little wooden chair to write this review. I bought my own hot water kettle in town to make tea and coffee, none provided. No store to buy any sodas or chips or amenities you may want for your stay. I walked a half a mile and jumped a fence to the only mini market around. Horrible gym. Garage quality machines and free weights in a small corner so it is one person at a time to work out. Spa is stupid, kiddie pool indoors and no hot tub or jacuzzi for general use. Wifi is absolutely the worst. you have to stand near your room door sometimes to get any kind of a signal. No ice machines on the floors, you have to call room service and ask for a bucket.
