Although the hotel is getting renovated just now, the Golf Hotel is still offering a great meal, with excellent customer service at reasonable prices. The staff were very helpful and family friendly. There is a good choice of food and it really is excellent.

We had our two monthly stay at the Golf to deal locally with the affairs of a distant relatives. Once again treated with great care and friendliness by all the staff. Hotel under new ownership and essential maintenance being carried out. Look forward to seeing the renovations completed.

The hotel is extremely dated and shabby looking, the service on the other hand was good. They said they had bike storage but this meant dragging our bikes up and down stairs in and out of a cellar where the doors barely opened wide enough to get a bike through. Very basic bathrooms with temperamental showers and loo's that wouldn't... More

Thanks for your review. We are pleased you found our staff to be friendly & helpful & that your breakfast was good. Your cycles were, I'm sure you agree stored securely. Having just taken ownership of the hotel in April, as you could see the workmen on the outside to be followed by inside refurbishment. More

We ate in The Golf hotel several times during our stay in Silloth. We found it to have a good menu selection and reasonably priced. The quality of the food was exceptional, and the portions were a good size. We had the carvery on the Sunday, it was amazing, good selection of quality meats, Yorkshire puddings the size of a... Been here many times. It's really hit and miss for food. But it's now under new management so hopefully things will improve. Prices are reasonable. Never stayed overnight but reports are that some rooms ok others and not... much like the food!

Thank you for posting your review. Having purchased the hotel in April my team and I have been working hard to improve the menu & provide a uniform level of quality across all areas. As you mention there is a difference between our first floor executive and second floor standard bedrooms. The differences are explained at the time of booking... More

Stayed here on a business trip and the hotel is very dated and run down, a green bathroom suite from the 1960s, no shower, a crack in the window, peeling wallpaper. The place needs an injection of cash to bring it into the present day. The staff were friendly enough.

Thank you for posting your review. It's nice to hear that you found out team friendly. Having recently purchased the business i am indeed giving it 'an injection of cash'. Didnt stay here as we were staying in a caravan down the road, we wanted a meal out and this was within walking distance. From the outside we didnt really get a goosd impression but as soon as we went into the restaurant the staff were lovely! Stayed here for one night, and was not impressed. It looks very run down from the kerbside, and tired on the inside. I was give a one bed room, which also had the remnants of someone else's pubic hair around the sink! It is far from clean, and I would not recommend a stay here. To bring some balance to... More

Where to start?... A truly horrendous hotel! I'll start with the positives. The staff were friendly and the roof didn't leak. Unfortunately the rest of our stay was littered with issues. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever experienced, the shower swayed between freezing cold and BOILING hot, the decor was from circa 1960, damp down the walls... More

Stayed here on 18th May. I had stayed here previously and been given a good room. This time was told only an executive single available. Tiny room and not sure what the executive bit was. Only 18 ins between bed and wall. Very disappointing stay indeed for £65!
