We stayed in a cabin for a couple days, cabin was nicer than I expected. what I'd call glamping. Nice cabin even had AC. We all enjoyed ourselves, kids spent a lot of the time at the river swimming, panning for gold. Found a few flakes exciting. Plan on going back next year for a longer stay.
We spent the weekend enjoying the scenic rides and prospecting in the area. Great accommodation and folks. ATV trails abound, scenic views everywhere, riverside campground and sites to accommodate all.
The availability of the ATV trail going right through the campground was great. The closeness to great falls and water was fun and the campground was well kept. We will be going back. The only reason it wasn't 5 star, was when we asked about location of certain things the kids at the counter had no clue. They were nice and helpful, but young teens in a family run business. We found everything on our own so it didn't hurt anything, and we will be back.
Coos Canyon Campground is located right along the Swift River in the small village of Byron. It sits right on ATV and Snowmobile Trails and offers a variety of sites, both with hook ups and wilderness sites. The campground is under new management and the owners are doing a great job! They appear to be expanding the number of sites and facilities they have. The staff is very friendly and the campground is kept in great shape. We will definitely be returning next summer!
