Fabulous setting and stunning rooms. Huge bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers and very comfy, cosy bedroom suite. Great attention to detail. Meals in Ixma were delicious and the staff wonderful and welcoming. We had fun playing golf on the micro ‘wellness’ golf course which was in impeccable condition. Spa was out of this world! Superb swimming pool.

Our stay here was so wonderful. The property grounds are amazing, over 70 acres of lush jungle, with lovely gardens tended to. The rooms are some of the best we've ever stayed in, beautiful patio with private, heated pool, large sliding wooden doors that open to your luxurious casita, double indoor & out door showers, double sinks, vanity area, huge closet area ,etc. Morning coffee, tea, fresh pastries delivered to your patio daily.
Pool area is incredible, with the lovely presence of Alejandra making sure you're taken care of. The Xiim restaurant is beyond beautiful to just walk through nd admire their tequila collection of some 3500 bottles.
The food is prepared with great pride by Executive Chef, Luis Ronzon. The Spa has some very unique offerings and the setting is incredible, also you can take you Yoga class on the deck overlooking the Cenote. If you are looking for luxury, and peacefulness ,this has it all. Gracias para todo Chable Yucatan.

Leaving the highway as you drive through the local town of Chacola and through the construction site of the new Maya Trainline, it’s hard to believe that you are about to enter such a magnificent sanctuary and oasis of peaceful tranquility. As you drive through the entrance gateway into the manicured parkland and gardens, with roaming deer, tropical bird life in ancient woodland, welcomed by starched white shirted reception staff, you realise this is in another league. Sadly it’s so expensive that few can afford more than the cursory one night stay which our own limited budget could manage, but it was well worth it.
After being shown to our opulent modern villa #38 we cycled to the cigar club TV lounge to catch up with the English team playing their World Cup soccer game, before spending a relaxing afternoon touring the grounds on the bikes provided free of charge by the hotel, getting to know the property and its extensive spa and treatment menu before relaxing in our private pool. After a calm siesta we enjoyed a superb gastronomic dinner in the restaurant Ixxo, famous for its collection of over 1,000 varieties of Tequila dating back over the past century. The wine list is also extensive and reasonably priced.
My wife enjoyed a session of yoga next to the tranquil Cenote before Breakfast which is served poolside, a large proportion of the food served is grown locally.
One striking feature of this hacienda property, is the super positive attitude and efficiency of the staff. Whatever your requirement, it seems to be met with a positive and motivated response. They communicate well in English and demonstrate a great attitude and capability, features that sadly have become often lacking in todays world.
Other than a suggestion that the bicycles should be better maintained or upgraded, I couldn’t find any further fault with this establishment, Chable Yucatan is clearly exceptionally well managed, and if you can afford it, not to be missed

Tough review to write. Let me state that the grounds and facilities are top notch at this resort and you will fall under its romantic spell. The spa staff and services are second to none and the dining is great. Where the resort falls short is it’s guest services/communications and housekeeping. Housekeeping will clean your room, but it’s bare minimum here. Don’t expect any special touches. Dirty glasses will be left behind and our private cabana pool was filthy and full of leaves the entire stay. Room service meals will linger and turn down services feel like they are going through the motions. Other 5 star resorts you return to the room excited to see what they did. Not here. There’s supposed to be a daily activity schedule, but it’s never delivered to your room. We were told because of a storm that all activities were cancelled one day only to find out from the spa that they held all group fitness classes, but nobody showed up. The reason is that they never communicated to guests that they were on. We were also celebrating a birthday and noted it on our reservation, but there was nothing done special in any way to acknowledge it. Would I come back? YES! Is it a five star resort? Sadly not until they fix some issues.

Good afternoon Craig10023, thank you for your constructive feedback which we will definetely take into account. I regret to hear that part of your experience was not up to your expectations and we will review each and every point with the team to see where the service flow failed. However, I am sure you were aware that during your stay we were affected by a hurricane and to protect the health & safety of our guests, we were obliged to close some of the services offered. This was informed at the time of check in as well daily with a letter which I personally prepared to be sent to each room with updates on how the hurricane was moving towards our hotel. Thankfully we were not so badly affected and everyone was safe. During the day when the hurricane was at his peak, we explained to our guests that only basic service would be provided and only on request by calling our concierge service. Also the SPA and the Ixi'im restaurant were closed during that day. As the weather improved, we actually decided to open Ki'ol for lunch and dinner. The following day all of our services resumed to normal activity. Once again we regret you could not fully enjoy our resort and hope you will be able to return back again in the future and experience what we can offer. I can be reached at rocco.bova@chableresort.com to discuss further about your experience as I don't like to keep it to a simple reply to a post on this platform. I wish you a great week end ahead and look forward to hear from you. Sincerely Rocco Bova General Manager

There's a reason this hotel was voted best in the world.
From arrival to departure, you will be left wanting for nothing. My husband and I originally booked 2 nights at Chable before heading into Merida. However, after only 1 night, we were back at Chable. It was just too hard to go from this amazing resort to do anything else.

Staff:
The staff are top notch. Every person we encountered was friendly and appeared eager to make our stay memorable. When we asked for anything, we were given it 10 fold. For example, I asked for a side of bacon with breakfast, expecting 1-2slices, and was given 15!! When I asked to take home a bottle of conditioner, I was prompting delivered 5 bottles.

Casitas:
The Casitas are second to none. You truly feel like you are in your own private jungle oasis. The plunge pool and outdoor shower were to die for.

Spa:
We did a prenatal massage and deep tissue massage at the spa. Both were wonderful treatments and the welcome ritual was a nice surprise.

Common areas:
The entire property is beautiful. It's a great mix of old and new. We loved taking long walks in the mornings before it was too hot. Probably 95% of the paths are shaded and made for a great experience. We saw plenty of deer, birds, and fireflys.
During our stay, there was a big event and about 30 of the Casitas were booked. The resort never felt crowded and we never had to wait for anything.

Food:
The food was outstanding. We booked the "journey of taste" package, which I highly recommend. It included breakfast and a 3 course meal for both lunch and dinner for 2 people. I've never eaten so much food in my life.

Experiences:
We noted that we were celebrating both a birthday and a baby at the resort. The staff provided small gifts, cakes, and cards for both occasions.
One thing that stood apart from the rest was the tequila tasting. We're not big tequila drinkers but the experience was 10/10.

Final thoughts:
It was pricey, yes, but worth every penny. We will be back!

Recently spent 6 days at this stunning property and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, we experienced a smiling, helpful, attentive staff who were a huge part of our experience. The property itself is so peaceful, and it feels like you are transported to another world. Our rooms were amazing with an outdoor shower that allowed us to bath in the jungle every day. Each casa has its own private pool, and the Royal Villa is INSANE! They also give you bikes to take around the property that is very helpful.

The food and drinks were very good. They have vegetable gardens that they use in their food. Finally, tomatoes that taste like real tomatoes! Make sure you get the avocado toast!

I had some clothing laundered as we were continuing to travel and needed fresh clothing. The process was extremely easy and the clothing returned wrapped in tissue paper with a ribbon! They even allow for a couple pieces of clothing to be ironed each day, which is helpful when you have those wrinkled outfits for a nice dinner.

An amazing experience and an absolute must if you want to get away and unwind and reboot!

I have already stayed at Chablé Yucatán before and I was very happy with the resort so I was looking forward to staying there again. Unfortunately I was disappointed as the quality has decreased significantly. Some time before I arrived the general manager had left the property and currently there is no general manager there. This is the main reason for the quality drop. Unfortunately I only knew this once there.

The resort is still very beautiful, the grounds are very well maintained and there are many beautiful corners, gardens etc. I love to walk in the resort or take a bike to get around and enjoy the nature.

Also the casita is very nice, large room with lots of space for your belongings, large bathroom and a nice terrace with a plunge pool. You can enjoy the tranquility of your casita, it is very quiet and private.

The spa is very nice with different whirlpools, sauna etc.

The fine dining restaurant Ixiim is still very good, the chef is really talented. The staff there is very efficient and attentive and also very friendly.

But unfortunately there were too many hiccups in the service overall. At the time of reservation, I had already some issues, for example I asked about reservations for Ixiim, but it took me several emails until the reservation was done. Nobody mentioned the fact I was a repeat guest, which should not happen in such place. The room was not ready at 14.00, despite they had several rooms available. The room was not very clean, in particular the garden was very messy when we arrived. The flip flops and slippers were the wrong size despite they knew our sizes before arrival. The name of my partner was written wrongly. All of these points are absolutely not a big issue, but when you claim to be one of the best hotels in the world (everywhere they post the fact they have been nominated by Pellegrino), and also being a leading hotel of the world.

The Kiol restaurant was also not convincing this time. The quality of the food has dropped and the service was mich less attentive and efficient. One morning I had to wait one hour to get my cereal, almost half an hour to get my coffee, this is way too long, in particular when you are the only guest in the restaurant.

As I had to leave early in the morning, they gave me a breakfast box. I must say I have never ever received such a bad breakfast in any cheap hotel, even breakfast at mc Donald is better than what I received. There was a greasy tasteless tomato and cheese sandwich and greasy chips, really disgusting , I had to throw it away.

I mentioned these points to the staff at the reception and they were apologetic and tried to fix it, but without a manager around this was not really successful.

I hope they can find soon a manager and hope they find again their level they had before. For the time being it is definitely not one of the best hotels in the world and also not on the level a member of the leading hotels of the world should have.

There are a few places in the world that are so unique because of the location, it is hard to compare to other hotels in their category...Amangiri, Belmond Hotels des Cataratas, One and Only Wolgan Valley, Oberoi Agra...well Chable Yucatan fits into that category. While I had been to Merida before, I had not visited this slice of heaven 40 minutes outside the city. This jungle chic Hacienda is a great blend of old and new with world class dining and spa. My only regret of our stay is we didn’t stay longer.

We've stayed at some pretty serious hotels throughout the world, mostly Europe, Asia, Mexico and the USA....This was the best one we've ever been to. It's literally an oasis, there's 40 rooms so probably about 140 gusts at a time max and I think the property is close to 700 acres. The Spa is incredible, the food is incredible, the service was amazing and they have a fantastic gym overlooking the cenote, one of a kind! We can't wait to go back.

How far is it from the Merida airport and how much is transportation? Thanks!

Hello Wildernikki, Chable Yucatan is 40 minutes away from Merida airport. Private transportation has a price of 2500 mxn (120 USD) each way.
Marianne G asked a question Jan 2020
Long Island City, New York74 contributions35 helpful votes
What is best way for a group of six to get to resort from Merida airport?
Los Angeles, California57 contributions39 helpful votes
We traveled there via the hotel's car, which I believe was $200 USD round trip. Since there are 6 of you, I think this is very worthwhile. We enjoyed the conversation very much with our driver as well. If all six of you don't fit in one car, I would still recommend arranging two cars. While it's not far from the airport, we had a lot of peace of mind knowing the driver was from the hotel. If you opt to choose outside transportation, as a heads up, you'll exit the highway and go through some very small towns/villages before arriving to the property. We loved it and hope you do too!

Hi Laura, it depends on the website and location you are looking for the prices. Mostly you will find them in USD. You’ll find it around $850 USD per night per room in double occupancy, but it varies per season.

Hi Domenica. Private Pools are heated to around 28° - 29° Celsius (83° Fahrenheit), but most guests ask to turn off the heat and keep pools colder. They prefer a refreshing feeling as weather in Chablé tends to be hot and humid.
