The Secret spot lodge is located in the small village of Azur, mins from Messanges and Moliets beach, in the pine forest of Landes. A recently renovated 100 year old Landes farmhouse, we offer four big comfortable bedrooms and put on a large continental buffet each morning. Guests are invited to freely use all of the amenities such as free heated pool , free parking , free WiFi , free boards etc. We are moments away from restaurants, bars , and shops, and centrally located for all the beaches in the area. Getting here is easy by car , train or plane.

Stumbled upon this gem when googling for surf-holidays. Had a perfect week at Nelly and Troy’s place in July 2023. Short drive to the beach and the younger part of the family (two teenagers + 20-year old) had surf-lessons with Troy. An excellent surf-instructor; they had never surfed before but made it up on the boards and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere at the lodge is welcoming, relaxed and really «chill» thanks to Nelly, Troy and their charming children. Rooms and common areas are clean and tidy, and the breakfast is very, very good. Fridge, outdoor kitchen and barbecue at disposal. Perfect for a relaxed family-holiday. Only regret is we had not planned to stay for more than a week. Next time we will!

We had a great stay at Nelly&Troy's place. The location is perfect, quiet and 15min from the ocean. They have a nice swimming pool you can relax, and you can ask Troy for surf lessons or any advice related to surfing. The breakfast is amazing and very generous, just perfect to start the day. You have an outdoor kitchen with everything you need to cook for your meal and a private fridge to store your food. Everything is perfect to make you feel welcome and make your stay easy and relaxing. Thank you for that great Time.

Nelly, Troy and the kids are wonderful hosts and have a great place to stay! We stayed for 5 nights and had a super time. The living space is perfect: the big terasse by the pool has an outdoor kitchen complete with a bbq, plancha as well as a dining area makes for a cosy dinner, which you can follow up with a ping pong or darts game. You get your own fridge and plenty of dry storage for food. The room is super comfy and has everything you need! The breakfast is really good: there’s plenty to choose from and Nelly makes amazing scrambled eggs! The (delicious) homemade muffins which are part of breakfast are there to take throughout the day if you get a bit hungry. :) Nelly and Troy know the area really well. Troy is a great surf teacher and the wetsuit and board are included during your stay: both for a lesson, as well as if you go and have a surf by yourself! The beach and places to buy food or go out to eat are close by and easy to get to. Will definitely come back, and highly recommend :) …

Your search for the perfect surf lodge on the French coast can stop right here! We highly recommend staying here with Nelly, Troy and family who are warm, generous and welcoming hosts to their beautiful lodge just a few minutes drive from the running French surf beaches. Fabulous accommodation, wonderful breakfasts, amazing pool and outside kitchen. Our whole family (of 5) had the best time. Nelly and Troy really go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need and are always on hand to advise on things to do, places to go, beaches to visit. Excellent surf lessons from Troy as well!

We have been coming here for years as we always enjoy the stay so much! This family-run lodge is a true secret jewel, led with love. The breakfast includes homemade crêpes and muffins! :) You can truely relax here - knowing that you can go surfing or check out those fantastic climbing parks nearby whenever you feel like it. Enjoy!

We spend two weeks at Secret Spot Lodge in July 23. We‘ve been here many times before and can‘t wait to come back again. Relaxed atmosphere, cool outdoor kitchen, chill zones by the pool, cozy rooms with ensuite bathroom, comfortable beds, yummy breakfast and the best hosts you can imagine (Many thanks Nelly, Troy and kids!). The area (Landes) is just great, first thing to do obviously is surfing (Thanks Troy for deep expert advice and training!), also cycling is highly recommended (very nice bike paths through the woods). Day trips to Basque country are a must. Big thumbs up!

We stayed at this wonderful Lodge for a week and absolutely loved it. Nelly&Troy with family were welcoming and friendly hosts with lots if advice and tips for the area, and we also had some good surf lessons with Troy. The lodge itself has a good vibe with the chill pool area and the outdoor kitchen area where we loved to hang out in the evenings playing ping pong, dart and basket ball😊. Breakfast was lovely and fresh.

We spent the weekend there with our family and we really enjoyed it. Nelly and Troy made everything easy so you feel confortable and at home. Breakfast is fantastic, organic, fresh and home-made. The house is perfectly located, just a 15min drive from the ocean. The pool area with kitchenette and BBQ is very nice, with a comfty wooden floor. There are game gadgets in the garden (basket, ping pong, small volley net..) great for the kids. The rooms are very clean. The large one in the 1st floor is large and fits a family of 4 perfectly. We enjoyed a lot our stay (les Landes are a lovely place) and we highly recomend it !

Main thing about the Secret Spot is Nelly, Troy and the kids, which makes your experience great. Delicious breakfast by Nelly followed up by perfect surfing lessons with Troy ( even with a broken toe) was just enough for us to enjoy our stay. Its clean cozy

The environment at "The secret spot" is magical, the kindness of the owners brings positivity to the vacation and allows you to have a special time. Nelly meticulously cleans the house and prepares fantastic breakfasts, and Troy is a real surfing expert and can give you the right tips for your surfing vacation.
