Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Staying in a beach front hotel, with direct beach access, in Koh Samui has been on the bucket list for many years. This hotel ticked all the boxes, for this area of Koh Samui it’s a mid range price. However, the hotel is incredible. It’s so small that you’re never fighting for a sun bed, and if you’re in a ground floor room you’re literally steps from the beach. The sea water is so warm it’s like getting in a bath! The restaurant is outside, right next to the pool with a sea view. The breakfast choices cater for all nationalities and it’s gorgeous food. We found we didn’t need a full lunch, there’s a 7/11 about five mins walk away where you can get toasties etc heated for you for less than 50 baht.
The hotel is exceptionally clean and you’re provided with shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/beach towels and drinking water which are all replenished daily. The hotel will also arrange laundry for you, there are cheaper places nearby but 70 baht per kilo (including the service charge) is still cheap and there’s no effort needed!
The hotel will organise an airport transfer 500 baht from the airport and 300 baht return (the driver doesn’t need to wait on the return journey). Grab is a bit hit and miss so it was with paying. Within 60 minutes of landing were were in our hotel room, they will let you check in early if they room is available.
Across from the hotel is a camper van that turns into Captain Tao’s bar, serving 90 baht cocktails which we can highly recommend. Turn left out of the hotel and further down the road is The Hut, a very cheap but gorgeous Thai restaurant 1000 baht for a two course meal for three with alcohol/soft drinks. Turn right out of the hotel and you hit the hustle and bustle of Fisherman’s Village. It’s very commercialised and ridiculously expensive. At the other end of the street is coco tams - you can watch the fire show on the beach if you don’t want to drink at the bar.
On a Monday, Wednesday and Friday opposite coco tams is the night market. Once you walk past the clothes etc there is the food section which is brilliant and much better food choices than the Chaweng market (near the tourism school). You can feed a family with drinks for 500 baht and there are singers/etc. So you could make a night off it.

Fabulous boutique hotel located in the Fisherman’s Village area of Bophut. The hotel had access to a pretty beach with Koh Phangan visible in the distance. The room we were allocated was a loft room which was large, clean and had a balcony with spectacular sea viewing. A perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring Samui. Outside of the hotel there are a selection of small bars and moped rental agencies. One particular moped rental is located approximately 50 metres from the hotel. It is also a laundry combined with two bikes to rent. The rental charge is expensive and sadly we incurred very minor scratches on the bike which upon our return we were told no passport return unless we pay nearly 8000 Baht. It’s worth mentioning this place as it’s likely if you’re staying at the hotel, you may be tempted to use this motorbike rental agency. After nearly 20 more or less trouble free years renting mopeds around Asia. I’ve never experienced such blatant extortion. Hopefully the wonderful hotel will advise their guests to avoid the laundry/moped rental shop close by to avoid the experience my partner and me had.

We stayed at the Baan Bophut Beach Hotel for 9 nights and had a GLORIOUS stay!
This hotel is simply wonderful!
We had a Premier Loft Suite with magnificent views over the beach from the balcony.
The room was large and spacious with King sized bed. There was a comfortable sitting area with two couches and a huge flat screen TV. There was also a sound system with speakers even in the bathroom, but we didn’t want to ‘wake the neighbours’ ☺️ The suite had a fridge/mini bar and a kettle with tea/coffee provided also.
The bathroom was ‘wet room’ style with a great shower, and quality toiletries provided.
There was plenty of wardrobe/drawer space too (often lacking in some hotels.)
There was a cute infinity pool with views over the beach right next to the restaurant/bar which served a variety of food/drinks from Panini’s to Duck Red Curry and from alcohol to fruit smoothies all at very reasonable prices. We didn’t eat there, but the menu looked really good.
Plenty of sun beds on the beach in front of the hotel too and beach towels changed daily.
The staff were ALL very friendly and helpful.
We had a couple of issues in our room which were dealt with quickly and efficiently by the owner, Dan, who was very pleasant and helpful.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel! It’s in the quieter end of the Fisherman’s Village but within a 2 minute stroll to all the restaurants/bars/shops, so ideally situated!
We will definitely book again and this holiday was one of our very favourite!

This hotel is truly comfortable. The room is spacious, well equipped with a fridge, safe, very comfortable beds, electric kettle, tea etc. and a clean and efficient bathroom. Aircon works perfect, not blowing on your bed. The view is stunning, the sea is right at your doorstep. Comfortable chairs on the balcony/terrace. In these Covid times, breakfast was an option but very limited so we chose to have breakfast out. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is perfect and since it is very quiet all over Thailand, this usually crowded area was definitely perfect for us now. After we checked out, I left one drawer unpacked. I called the hotel later in the day and they arranged for the content of that drawer to be send to me immediately at no extra charge at all but the covering of the postal fee. Such a fabulous service!! Thank you Baan Bophut for a wonderful stay.

We stayed for 10 days in this lovely small hotel right on the beach in room No 4. Room and bathroom fitted out to a good standard for a three star hotel. breakfast very good. Staff always very friendly and helpful. Small pool but rooms right on the beach. Fisherman's village is a lovely location to stay, very many good restaurants and bars within mins of walking out of the hotel and not too busy. Lots of repeated clients. Unfortunately had to check out early due to a few issues with Room 4. Plus this time the hotel had a few young children staying which is fine but the hotel is small and children make a lot of noise. Thks to the hotel team.

Stayed here four years ago and it's now worth an excellent rating. Why? Because from the owner downwards, if you have any concerns, they all go that extra mile to make sure that they are addressed. This attention to service ensures that you are in safe hands in a great hotel, in the best location, in the best resort on Koh Samui. To illustrate my point, a leak from the room above was resolved within an hour of reporting it. An issue with the beach was mentioned to the duty manager and again was sorted satisfactorily shortly afterwards. This is a small and friendly hotel with great staff. The beachfront rooms offer unbeatable views and offer perfectly adequate facilities. The breakfast choices have improved considerably and are served with a ready smile. The restaurant offers some excellent food at unbeatable prices and the management will go out of their way to help make sure you get the most from your stay. What more could you want?

This is our second visit to this hotel. It's a great option for Fisherman's Village. The price is good and the views across the beach are really special. We booked room 12 and 3 for our family. This gave us the best of both worlds: a room with direct beach access directly next to the pool and a large room with sofas to sit and play vatds and panoramic views. Good air conditioning and very large comfy beds for a great nights sleep. Staff were kind and very responsive to messages. My daughter left her favourite top behind and staff were quick to find it. There is some building work near by but it really didn't detract from our enjoyment. Next time we will book a longer stay as this really is a very good option.

This is a great little hotel - it’s got it just right in terms of location, grounds and pricing. The pool and beachfront rooms provide lovely views of the bay and the beach and the staff are friendly and super-helpful. Location to the little bustle of Fisherman’s village is perfect. In this complicated travel-time, the manager, Ray, was incredibly helpful with information and advice, making the whole thing much easier. I will continue to come back again.

My husband and I stayed here for a week, and had a lovely time. We stayed on the top (2nd) floor and had a great view overlooking the beach. There is no elevator but I was expecting this when I booked as there were only top floor rooms available and I wanted to stay in this area near Fisherman's Village overlooking the beach. It's not a large hotel, but it's lovely in a good location, near restaurants too.

Even during the current pandemic restrictions everything was good. View from the room was great, location is perfect being walking distance to everywhere but not so central that noise would be an issue. Airport transfers and trips booked and went to plan. Tip - there's a reliable taxi directly outside the hotel if you want to sight see.

Greetings from Baan Bophut Beach Hotel. We are an award-winning beachfront SHA Extra Plus hotel, approved to provide the required stay and testing packages for Samui Test & Go and Sandbox entries. Day 1 Test & Go package prices always include both the RT-PCR test and the required SHA+ private airport transfer. You can see all the information about our Test & Go packages on our website's dedicated Test & Go information page.
Meet & Greet private transfers from Samui Airport to our hotel are available for a fee of 500 THB per one-way trip (up to 4 passengers total). This is the same price that a regular taxi at the airport charges to come to our hotel. It is also possible to use the airport's shared hotel minivan shuttle service, which costs 130 THB per person to our hotel. Just go to the airport's transportation counter when you arrive if you wish to use the shared shuttle service.
If you would like to have us schedule a private transfer from the airport, please email us privately with your reservation information, your flight number, arrival time, and the city your flight is coming from. You can find our contact information on our website. Tripadvisor does not allow us to post email addresses or website links in responses to questions.
If you need to book the return transfer back to the airport or to a pier, please let us know your desired pickup time from the hotel for your check-out date, and where you need to be dropped off at (airport or which pier), so that we can schedule this with the driver.
