Our rooms are modernly furnished with all the necessary amenities like any 5 * hotels but we only charge you 3*. There is a supermarket next door, a pharmacy across the street, bank and ATM is 100 meters to walk, the Fisherman Village with 100 local restaurants are 300 meters to walk on the beach. Internet As others have mentioned the Internet really sucks by the pool area. Even though we’ve made mention to it to the management several times they just say they will reset the router but it’s terrible. In the room it worked well. Food Breakfast is OK to good. It’s basically all buffet except that you can have eggs or omelettes made. They will make a batch of Patay early in the morning but not really a re/supply it throughout the morning. The fruit selection is excellent. For the most part it’s the same breakfast every day. I believe the hours are 7 - 10 am. The challenge is some adventures that you want to participate here on the island or away from island will pick you up around 6:30 am, meaning that you don’t get breakfast that morning. In the pool area-no one will come and ask you if you want to drink or order food, you have to go to them to order. We never had a lunch or dinner here at the restaurant. Beach area The beach area is very nice and well maintained every morning. This is a great highlight of the resort. Transportation As others have mentioned is very expensive on the island. To get a taxi to Fishermans Village or Central Festival mall is going to run between 400 and 800 Baht one way. The hotel will charge you 700 Baht one-way to/from the airport. A suggestion is to download the app, GRAB, which is cheaper than the hotel taxi services. Very similar to Uber and you can pay them cash. Laundry, convenience store, getting around the island. *We had our laundry done about every other day at a little “Mom and Pop” just on the north side of the hotel, just next to entrance and exit road. *There is a Family Mart some 50 meters on the north side of the hotel, just past the reception area. They also have an ATM. *You can rent a motor scooter for 200 Baht a day or 1000 Baht for a whole week. We toured the island a couple of times exploring. If you feel comfortable riding a scooter. Location It’s a beautiful place on the north part of the island and you’re only about a 10 minute walk to fisherman’s Village. Most travel guides have not updated information that fisherman’s Village has a night market on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday’s Rooms It honestly is going to depend upon your personal view. It is by far not a five star room, as the management will say, “We are five star resort on a three star budget”. We stayed in the garden view bungalow, room 133. The room is very rustic in appearance. One queen size bed, located on a step/ledge that takes up half of the room. Meaning that you have to walk on the step/ledge to get out of one side of the bed. The room also consisted of a bunkbed of which we actually used for storing items. The room also had a small refrigerator. The hotel will replenish two bottles of water a day only if you display two empty bottles of water each day. Our room had a small patio which was viewable by anyone that walked by. The plants that surround the hotel and inside the hotel are absolutely beautiful. As others have mentioned, the mattress is very, very hard. We did ask them to put a topper on it which helped a little bit. Staff Others have mentioned that the staff are not very service friendly. No one seems to go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. There are even times you may have to argue with them to get another towel, or for them to understand getting an additional breakfast item cooked properly. Management & Staff Provided Christmas cupcakes to all rooms. Then on New Years Day two small souvenirs were left in our room. They did promote a special Christmas dinner but we did not receive any information on the New Years Eve dinner. We stayed at the resort for 12 days and by the end of our stay, the staff seemed to be warming up to us a bit better. They offered to get us more towels or even made a good suggestion for a cheaper taxi ride to the airport.

We sincerely appreciate all your comments and will take due actions to improve the areas that you have mentioned.. We are a 3 star resort and this is a hidden handicap that we lose our well trained staff and also those who have reasonable English to the more attractive 5 star resorts. We have to make do with staff of lower ability of English who may try to look the other way when guests seem to be in need of services. We will have to train them more to just talk to the guests with any English they could. The internet in the pool area does not seem strong enough and we are unable to work out why because at the restaurant and the rooms and the lobby seems to do well. We are aware of this hitch and we will discuss it with different providers to see who could offer the best signal. I hope you will return to see the improvements along your comments. We are a family 6 adults and 3 children. We have lived at Lawana hotel 3 times and have been very satisfied. Last time we met the owner and had a very pleasent evening with him, dinning on the beach. The staff are very helpfull and very kind to the kids. The rooms are cosy and the garden full of plants.

We spent 6 nights in a run down, worn bungalow. There was a disused pool by our bathroom which was a lovely breeding ground for mosquitos. The accommodation was musty and aged. The staff were the biggest disappointment. The reception was strained and the staff were not interested in helping in many situations. We asked if someone could help us with a taxi and the lady at reception sent us on to the road to flag our own down. We asked if there were any mosquito coils, the staff told us we should buy our own. The man in the restaurant was hard to approach as he made me feel like I was annoying him, just asking for a menu. The restaurant food was average quality, we didn't eat there at all. The first night we arrived, our daughter had a fever and the security guard noticed this and he came to me and told me if we had ANY problems in the middle of the night, ANYTHING, he said, that we should call him and he would help. This was super nice and so reassuring. The breakfast was fine and the breakfast staff were much more helpful. The location is excellent. A walk along the beach or road to the village and close by to a Family Mart. The accommodation was not value for money. I would not recommend this accommodation but I would recommend Bophut.

We stayed here for 9 nights in August this year. Bungalows were good enough, air con was amazing and needed! - although our bathroom wasn’t air conned. Breakfast good and service friendly and dedicated. Sunbeds and parasols around pool and on beach were good although not always quite enough for the amount of people who stay here. We went next door on one occasion and used there’s - not a problem as long as you buy a drink or two! Quite a lot of bed reserving was going on as well...We were the only Brits who stayed here during our 9 days, seemingly mostly Dutch, French and German. On the whole, we had a good time here and would recommend it. Lovely location and a stroll along the beach every evening to fisherman’s village was fabulous.

I’ve stayed here with three teenagers for three days. Beautiful resort, lovely sea view from the pool. Directly situated at the beach. Good service, especially Jeevan, Sow and Palm (reception staff) are very hospitable, thnx guys! In short, a must-be location when visiting Thailand/ Koh Samui!
