Hansar, Koh Samui is a 5-star beachfront resort with exceptional service minded staff, great food, boho-lux architectural design elements and an outstanding luxury spa. Service – The phrase that comes to mind when thinking back at the staff of Hansar is ‘super friendly’. From check-in to check-out every encounter with the staff members (namely Bob, Leo, Angel, and Ing) was so warm and friendly. Special thanks to Khun Ford who was truly exceptional. Our interactions evoked a feeling of nostalgia like visiting relatives after a long time away. They served a refreshing bottle of butterfly pea flower upon check-in which was lovely. The check-in process was fuss-free, smooth and efficient. Service at breakfast was also highly commendable. One particular staff noticed that a fly had sat on a slice of bread from the egg menu item just as she was about to serve the dish. She then looks at me and says, “Sorry I’m unable to service this because it doesn’t meet the standards.” This attention to detail was quite remarkable. Location – Being in the center of Bophut, we thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of being able to step-out of the resort and explore the unassuming streets of the Fisherman’s Village. Luckily, we were there on the weekend and could visit café’s, awesome nightlife vibes, and some shopping of local designers in unique boutique outlets along the quaint streets. We were literally located in the heart of town while returning to the calmness of our dreamy bohemian-themed abode. Accommodation – We stayed in their luxurious 75 sqm Seaview XL suite which featured a four-poster bed with romantic muslin drapes, a large stone bathtub, a dreamy king-sized bed and a large outdoor balcony. Our room number was #1302 on the third floor with unparalleled views of the main pool and sea. The highlight of the room was definitely the massive panoramic balcony with a very comfortable outdoor sofa bed. We enjoyed the airy breeze while listening to waves caressing the shoreline the mornings and evenings. This was also a perfect spot for some morning mediations to start the day. Other room features included a large LCD TV, high speed wifi, double sinks in the bathroom and a rain shower with consistent water temperature. Throughout the stay, the wifi signal was strong and stable. We were able to connect our android stick and enjoyed some Netflix shows with no issues. Spa – The “Luxsa” spa is a sanctuary for the senses. As we seated ourselves, they presented us with the various massage oil options which included 4 elements: earth, water, air and fire. They all had a unique scent which evoked various healing properties. Our 60-minute massage flew by. The masseuses were extremely professional and applied the right amount of pressure which made for an excellent treatment. It was so relaxing, I fell asleep even though I tried my level best to stay awake throughout the treatment. Prior to leaving, I noticed various certificates and accolades the Award-Wining Spa has won and wasn’t surprised. We were relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for our next adventure. Private Dining by the Beach – We opted for their private dining experience by the beach. The hotel staff decorated a wonderful table which was a perfect setting for a romantic, dreamy sunset celebratory dinner. Some of the food options included a pumpkin soup, tuna tartar, grilled seabass and mango sticky rice for dessert. Each dish was very well made and tasty. We especially enjoyed their grilled sea bass which was very fresh and the mango sticky rice! When in Thailand, the mango sticky rice is not to be missed. Breakfast – The H-Bistro Restaurant features large open doors (and windows) facing the beachfront making this venue a perfect spot to start the day. The buffet breakfast had a great variety of both international and local dishes. We appreciated their egg menu which shows some level of invention especially their Florentina eggs featuring perfectly poached eggs, a hollandaise sauce, brown bread, crab stick, avocado and prawn. Yum! Other facilities – A lot of our time was spent chilling by their large infinity saltwater pool which is located a few steps from the beach. We enjoyed a chilled coconut while relaxing on the sun day beds. The swimming pool also featured a sitting area and jacuzzi jets which was a perfect spot to unwind and relax. Moving between the pool and sea waters every few ours was a luxury given the close proximity to the beach. We also noticed that they had both table tennis and a pool table although we didn’t get to it because we were too busy relaxing. It was easy to lose track of time here. The Hansar Samui was able to combine both luxury and superior service within a beachfront setting in the heart of Bophut. The resort also masterfully balances its natural architectural design elements with a modern flair. This option presents good value for money and we cannot commend the team here more than enough for their genuine Thai hospitality. Thank you Khun Tee for truly making this a memorable stay and we will be back in the near future!…
I stayed here twice because of the location. The 1st time was in Feb 2022. Some of the lights in the room was not working so it made the room kinda dark. And the wall was not clean. The 2nd time was in March 2022. This time the room smells musty so we had to request the air fresher. The sheet also was not clean enough. There was a spot. I was not sure if it was a blood or not. We requested a bucket of ice. The hotel wanna charge 50 baht. I was surprised for the hotel that charges 4,000 baht per night still wanna charge customers 50 baht for a bucket of ice. I was not impressed at all.
We just finished 6 nights at this gorgeous hotel. We booked 2 beachfront rooms which were wonderful. The view from our balcony was amazing, the room was huge, bright and airy and with the best bed and pillows ever. Staff everywhere were great, with the restaurant staff particularly so. They remembered our coffee orders and likes and dislikes from day 1. The breakfast buffet is small but it has everything you need and if there was something you wanted they were happy to cook it. We loved the cook to order egg and coffee menu that personalized what you needed. The pool was spectacular and the gym small but had everything you needed. Pool bar staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel was busy which pleased me as all around Samui I saw many closed businesses because of Covid especially in Chaweng but Bophut was livelier and Fisherman’s Village busy in the evenings. We were so happy with the hotel I looked to change our Songkran reservations to stay there but unfortunately the rooms we wanted are sold out.…

The fairly big resort is directly on the beach front, with just a small road to cross. This is the end of the road that runs through the Fisherman’s Village, a nice road to walk with restaurants and bars. It is built around a large and mostly quiet pool. Not much natural shade, but many umbrellas. There are three floors, no elevator. The room is standard good with a large balcony. It has all the necessities and a fridge with some drinks. Beware of the water in the fridge, it is not free (on the contrary!). There is also complimentary water. The place is getting a bit aged, for instance the mattress seems to be approaching its expiration date. Furniture around the pool and in the restaurant are screaming for some paintwork. The TV is an older model without the modern features. There are not many outlets for chargers. Those beside the bed are shared with a light, so when you turn off the light with the central switch the charger also goes without power. Breakfast is good, continental and service throughout is very friendly. In the evening you may hear some noise coming from the entertainment a bit farther away on the beach road. On the beach and at the pool you will sometimes be disturbed by jet-ski’s, noisy and smelly, but at present, maybe thanks to Covid, not that many. All in all we found it a nice place to stay and would not hesitate to come back. It is certainly good value for money.…
Hansar Samui (in Bo Phut area of Samui Island) represents a highly affordable option compared to the much more expensive alternatives nearby, while being on par or nearly on par with these alternative choices in many respects (food/services/accomodation). The experience during our 5-day stay was truly great value for money. Pros: a beachfront 4 or 5-star resort; a clean & spacious room (Seaview XL room type); friendly & well-trained staff; proximity to the Fisherman's Village (where there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and other shops); a large swimmming pool which overlooks the seashore; a close partnership with Oceana Samui Charters, which has a dedicated front desk in the hotel's reception area and made day trips to the surrounding islands a fairly smooth process; an in-room bath tub in addition to a shower; great Southern Thai cusiine (especially the lunch set); Covid precautions visibly in place (staff consistently wearing masks, with gloves provided at breakfast buffet). Most importantly, the hotel seems to attract the kind of guests who don't make excessive noise during daytime or at night. This was exactly what we hoped for - peace & tranquillity at a beachfront resort in Samui. --------------------------------- Cons: Limited menu (for Western cuisine) at the hotel's restaurant (i.e. only about 5 main course dishes for Western food + 4 pasta dishes + starters/dessert/salad dishes). There is room for expanding the menu a bit, especially for an award-winning French Mediterranean restaurant. In addition, the special seafood set on Christmas Eve did not feel very fresh to us - a minor disappointment given that we had to order at least a day in advance. Breakfast buffet was okay, but again could benefit from more choices. There should also be better separation between smokers and non-smokers in the restaurant's outdoor area; the hotel's policy was merely to put smokers outdoors. Hence, non-smokers sitting outdoors had to inhale tobacco smoke if they were seated downwind of smokers. We were non-smokers.…
This was the 3rd time we stayed at Hansar so our expectations were high, however this time we were disappointed. The hotel is looking very tired, walls need painting, towels on sun beds are very worn and level of cleanliness was poor. Breakfast was one of our favourite things at Hansar but this time it was one of the worst. The restaurant was always busy so the team needed to turn round the tables quickly however there was no Covid standards; the cloth they were using to “clean” the tables was dirty. I asked if they had any disinfectant/cleaning spray for the tables but they said no. No hand sanitizer on the tables. Nothing wiped down before the next guests sat down. Sanitizer and gloves were available at the buffet but hardly anyone used them. The team were very friendly, especially round the pool. Otto in particular made us feel very welcome every day. Breakfast team were understaffed and didn’t have time to service the guests properly. Sorry Hansar, we wont be back :(…
Great service actually, spacious rooms and clean. Beds are a bit too soft but great amenities and fabulous seaview. Pool has a jet function which is nice and has a good infinity pool edge which connects to the ocean view. Staff is courteous came and fixed things very quickly. Granite bath in the middle of the room can be slippery watch out but very cute looking. There are bathrobes, slippers, bags, umbrellas and beach towels available. Balcony is spacious and worth a slurge here. No elevators tho so for older folk stick to the lower floors.
It was my 1st time staying here but it was far beyond my expectation. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The beachfront was very spacious and cozy with spectacular view of the sunrise in the morning. The location is very convenient as it is near by the fisherman village where I could find a local restaurant to dine in. The beach was peacefully beautiful. The breakfast was so-so with a limited choices due to the low occupancy but still acceptable. The overall stay experience was nice and I would come back here again to try the spa next time.
one of the best hotel in Koh Samui. Room is clean, spacious and comfortable. it is located right beside the beach and restaurants are just a short walk away. a large swimming pool and very quiet place. breakfast is good. I think all rooms are facing the swimming pool and beach. a very great place to relax. walking distance to the wharf samui. unfortunately due to the pandemic, all the shops are closed.
