Great food, service and location. Wide and varied food menu, and even nice wine. Service was excellent and attentive, but not rushed. Perfect location over looking the sea I would very highly recommend this restaurant.
I first visited The Lodge in 2009 on the recommendation of some Thai Army Generals who've vacation their previously. Had a great stay in 2009 and was glad to see it was just as great when I went back in 2020. Since my first visit they've renovated their kitchens and expanded their service to provide high quality thai and foreign food at reasonable prices. The beachfront is still awesome with two great trees giving you shade (if you want) and the water is always warm and feet from your door.
I had a quick meal here, tried the burger and French fries. A really good price for the area, and the burger was really tasty… Chips fried to perfection! This is one of the restaurants that also serves all of the Standard European style condiments, Which you appreciate when most of the other restaurants hardly even offer ketchup at the table. A nice break from Thai food, but they offer Thai dishes if you fancy them. Restaurant was very clean and the service very attentive. My server spoke very good English and attention to detail was on point. Nice view of the beach when you sit outside. Also tried the rosé wine which was delicious. A lovely French Provence at a great price! Highly recommended and will be back!
Had a delicious lunch at the Lodge. Tiger prawns and salad. Sea bass and salad, green papaya salad. You must have the fish and ask for the tamarind sauce. This family owned inn and restaurant should not be missed going to the Fisherman’s village.
The Lodge is a perfect getaway spot for couples looking for a simple but clean, small, family-run establishment. We had one of the “Pent Huts” on the second floor with a gorgeous sea view and plenty of space. The whole hotel only has eight rooms, so doesn’t feel crowded at all. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is situated right in the middle of the Fisherman’s village, so you have a wide range of restaurants and bars on your doorstep, plus it’s super easy to get to other parts of the island by taxi or if you hire a scooter. What sets The Lodge apart is the friendliness of the staff, who had memorised our drinks order within a couple of days and were always happy to go the extra mile. They do an excellent Mojito! The Lodge also serves food which I found to be of excellent quality. Try the chicken and cashew nuts stir fry - it’s delicious. The only negative points I could think of would be: - Some noise is inevitable because it’s right in the middle of the Fisherman’s Village and it directly overlooks the beach. If you need absolute silence to sleep, this place isn’t for you. - We caught the tail end of the wet season, so pretty much every morning there was a big storm. As a result the balcony gets very wet and sometimes if the winds are high, some water comes through the doors. This isn’t really something over which the hotel has any control but just worth noting. On the flip side, this means you have a ringside view for the incredible lightning storms coming in off the sea. If we return to Koh Samui we will definitely stay here again. It was amazing value for money and an overall great experience, in no small part due to the lovely people who run the place. Thank you!…
