Weeks holiday for 2 was spoilt by us both being very sick and confined to the room for 4 of the 7 days , first two nights were fine then following a nites in the club watching the entertainment the following day we were both extremely sick and required a visit from the doctor . The only thing we can put it down too would be the ice in the cocktails as that’s the only thing we had the same . It’s a shame because it’s a nice hotel , not 4 Star but a ok . Here are a list of the bad points Very noisy at night loud music till 2am Very dated decor needs a major refurb Bad coffee take your own No kettle in room had to ask Local beer is not the best but bottled becks available to purchase Don’t drink the orange juice it’s not fresh and made from tap water Don’t drink the water at breakfast it’s from a cooler which is not changed just topped up from the tap , YES I MARKED THE CONTAINER IT WAS THE SAME ONE Local area is very sparse not a lot to see or do Would I recommend this hotel , sorry it’s a no from me , reading through some other reviews looks like sickness is a common occurrence here , so please take note and don’t venture far from the loo if you go .

Dear Guest, Thank you for the review. First of all we are very sorry that your stay with us was subject to this incident that made your holiday less enjoyable. We empathize with you and of course we would have wished an excellent stay for you. We didn't have similar complaints from other guests during the same period as you but me mention that a viral virus was probably responsible for what happened. We have well noted all your remarks and be sure that we won't spare any effort to constantly improve things around. We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future for a much better stay. Warmest regards,

Just returned after a wonderful week here! I couldn’t have asked for a better week to spend with family and friends! There was constant activities and entertainment for all ages! The animation team were all so friendly and made us all feel very welcome! Kiko would always invite us to join in with the dancing in the evenings and made us all feel extra welcome! So a big shout out to kiko! We are looking at coming back as soon as possible as we just enjoyed ourselves so much! The weather was beautiful, the rooms were always cleaned and the service at the restaurant was second to none! An all round amazing week!!

Just finishing up a week long stay at this hotel. Was worried about coming due to some reviews stating a bug was going around, luckily we didn’t witness that. There’s constantly people cleaning here inside the hotel grounds, so that definitely put my mind at ease. We paid extra to upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment, glad we did, it was huge, set over two floors, downstairs consists of an outdoor terrace (which wasn’t much good as the walls were very high and it gets no direct sunlight so wasn’t good at all for drying anything off, maybe add some sort of clothes airer to this at least?), a sitting room with tv (has bein sports on it, which is awesome as they show premier league/champions league/europa matches), kitchenette (wasn’t the best but got what we needed out of it), a toilet/shower/sink room. Upstairs has two bedrooms, one with an en suite. Both bathrooms have toilet, sink, bath with shower over. The bedrooms were a good size. Only gripe we really had was the stairs, there’s no sort of protection for families with young children, we had to put our stroller at the bottom to try block them off, but nothing we could do about the few in the master bedroom unfortunately, and our 1 year old daughter did end up having a fall. We were room 1382, and this was far enough away to be quiet and relaxing, but still close enough to not feel excessively out of the way. Other guests walking past and talking was so loud throughout the whole apartment, but typical of large, tiled rooms! Not the hotels fault. The description of this hotel stated there were 3 pools, 2 outdoors and 1 indoors, this is incorrect, there’s actually a third outdoor salt water pool, which is stunning. There’s some building works going on next to it but wasn’t off putting and obviously won’t always be the case. The main pool where the pool bar is was excellent, nice chilled atmosphere and then the animation team livening things up every now and then. The snack bar was hit and miss, it made pizzas, but only ever once before lunch time. There seemed to be no set hours of whether anyone would turn up, so it wasn’t ideal. When someone did turn up, the pizzas were delicious and always a big hit. The pool bar at the salt water pool looks like it will be decent when it’s open, but it wasn’t during our stay. The animation team are great, really made a fuss of our little girl who loved the attention! We took part in archery on a few occasions too! The food in this hotel left a lot to be desired unfortunately. We did see reviews saying fussy eaters would struggle, but we found meal times pretty difficult, despite being pretty open with food choices. It was extremely repetitive, every breakfast time was just a random bunch of things that didn’t make sense, hotdogs with onions, ratatouille, scrambled watery eggs, porridge. There was options of fresh omelette, doughnut things, pancakes (with sugar, Nutella or honey), then cereals, pastries and other weird and wonderful things. Only two options on juice, freshly squeezed lemon or orange, or warm water from a machine, then your standard hot drinks dispenser machine. Wasn’t a fan of this at all. Lunch was always rice, beef, potatoes, vegetables, fish, pizza, pasta, chips, turkey nuggets, and then a fresh grill. Again, the drinks system here is strange, to start with, every drink we got was a warm bottle of something, water or fizzy pop bottles (1.5ltr), it did improve and they started being cold, but it was still strange. You could request wine, not sure about other drinks. Tea was pretty much the same again, not much variation unfortunately, just the beef swapped out for lamb. We struggled to enjoy the food. The table service itself was great, the waiters were lovely and we had one who put in a decent effort at every meal time we saw him. Puddings were ice cream and then pretty much your standard bite size pastries that you seem to get at every all inclusive. The meal times weren’t great either, 7am-10am breakfast, 10-11am late continental breakfast, lunch 12.30pm-2.30pm, dinner 7pm-9.30pm. There’s not really anything other than pizza available (but not guaranteed times) between lunch and dinner. The medina can be very irritating, with the constant harassment to try to get you to go into a shop. As others have mentioned, the two just outside the reception can get particularly annoying when you have to go past them multiple times a day to get to your room! When you’re in the mood for a haggle, it can be a good laugh though! We went to the 1001 nights dinner show, as it was included in our stay. Wasn’t much of a fan, the food set up wasn’t ideal, sharing a table sat opposite strangers who spoke a different language and sharing tapas dishes as a starter with them. Then the main came out, you had a choice of two things and both weren’t enjoyable, so we ended up leaving as we had some hungry kids! Carthage land was a bit of amusement, it’s not the greatest theme park, but with it being free, it’s definitely worth a visit. Nothing at all a toddler can go on though. Most rides have 1.1mtr height restrictions for a child to be accompanied, the bigger ones are just over 1.2mtrs. The King Kong rollercoaster is not in the park. Aqualand was shut, which was disappointing as it had been one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. The private beach was alright, although I wouldn’t say it was private. We were constantly being pestered by people selling things, even whilst in the sea. Pretty unbelievable! There is a bar down there and they have a pizza oven too, so was decent for spending some time out. My husband and the teenager went paragliding there, it only cost 90dt, which was very reasonable. The best shop if you want snacks/drinks etc is about 15 minutes walk, towards the marina. It’s on the corner! On the whole, wouldn’t rush back to this hotel, but wouldn’t say never again either. We enjoyed it as a family of 5, myself, husband, 1 teenager aged 15, 1 child aged 6 and 1 toddler aged 1.

We stopped here at the end of September and had a brilliant time. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Rooms are amazing and very clean and I was very excited to see the swans and flowers in our bed every day. The food was very nice and a good variety. You can chill by the pools or visit the Medina and there is lots of entertainment. We made some great friends and are returning in May next year.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff work really hard. We came as a family of 10, mixed ages from adults, teens to babies. We were upgraded when we arrived and where given 3, 2 bedroomed apartments. These rooms was absolutely huge and clean. Plenty of room. The food was OK, which is expected from an all inclusive. The staff in the restaurant really do look after you and a tips are always welcome. The animation team are amazing. They work so hard and try their best to get you involved. We did get free entrance to Cartageland but rhe aqua park was closed for the season. It looks great for ages 8 plus. Toddlers are restricted to ride due to height so it wasn't used by us as we had a 21 month old with us. The private beach is beautiful with plenty of reasonably priced water sports. The only downfall I would say is the lack of hand hygiene facilities. Is there a bug, Yes there is. We didn't catch it whilst there for the 7 days but we did develop symptoms on our way home and it remains now. So take plenty of hand gel and remain vigilant about what food you eat. This can happen anywhere. Especially if there is 30 degree heat. I would absolutely go back. Its a fantastic place. Thank you to you all

Just returned from 2 weeks staying at this lovely complex. Best bits: 1. The staff - they work so hard and always have a smile on their faces , especially the animation team and the waiters. These guys made our holiday so special. We were made to feel so welcome and they made an effort to remember our names. We had a 17 year old with us and without them I think he would have been bored! It was lovely how the animation team would come and sit with you at meal times - made you feel like family. The waiters were also so attentive and made us feel extremely comfortable and welcome- big shout out to our main waiter Dihibi Mohammed who was absolutely wonderful. When we left for our coach to the airport all the animation team came out to say goodbye and hug us - never have experienced that anywhere before- we are already missing you all. Also the cleaners who work tirelessly all day but still have a smile on their faces and often left nice touches like flowers in a vase and biscuits. We were in room 1114 and our cleaner was so sweet. Wish I could remember everyone’s name but see pictures. 2.Accommodation We were in a 2 floor 2 bedroom apartment which was huge and very comfortable and clean. 1 downstairs wc and 1 bedroom had on suite and there was also another bathroom. We were in room 1114 which was overlooking smaller pool and nice and quiet 3. Pool and grounds There is a large pool that has the activities music etc and the smaller pool that is quiet. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful 4. Food We went AI and there is so much choice and something for everyone. Was good to see temperature checks being carried out regularly. 5. Ham man/Turkish bath You get a free Turkish bath with your stay and for a small fee you can get a facial and massage- highly recommend this absolute bliss! The ladies who work there are lovely and friendly Some minor negatives: We were initially given an apartment where we had to pass through the medina to get anywhere and there were 2 persistent sellers that we eventually got fed up with even after buying from them they continued to hassle us. However when we asked to be moved the reception manager? was very helpful and immediately gave us the apartment where the smaller pool was which we really appreciated. It was also very noisy at night from clubs etc so if you want to avoid these issues and would request not to be put in the 3000’s. The medina was nice but again too pushy so stuck on the whole to fixed price shops. It’s a shame they don’t realise that they would get more business. The private beach is a short walk away but the surrounding area has become run down and dirty. The beach bar is nice and staff are lovely. Sand and sea beautiful but you get lots of hassle from sellers/ offering of camel rides etc unfortunately there is a lot of plastic washed up on the beach. Lots of flies which I discovered was due to it being pomegranate season. We all got traveller’s tummy for a few days and unfortunately I am still suffering after nearly 2 weeks but I didn’t hear of anyone else suffering so could have been from eating elsewhere? All in all a lovely holiday in a lovely hotel. It’s a shame that Tunisia is still suffering the effects of the attack in 2015 and Covid as you can imagine how lovely it would have been. I don’t blame the sellers for being so pushy but really think it would benefit them to change. I hope the management recognise how amazing the staff our especially the waiters and animation team - they should all get a pay rise! Thanks again from Sonya, Chris and Jason

We have just returned from here and had a great relaxing week. Staff are very attentive especially Mohammad in the restaurant. Although apparently a few are called Mohammad, this one couldn't do enough. I use a stick and staff always came to help me. Room was huge, actually a double suite so we had his and her bathroom. Plenty of storage space as well. The cleaning ladies left the room spotless every day with a lovely folded towel and flower on the bed. Reasonable amount of food to choose from so never a problem. Thank you also to Mohammad for ensuring we could get coffee and something to eat before we left before breakfast for the airport. The managers cocktail party was a nice touch on Tuesday evening before we had dinner. The staff at the beach bar were also very attentive. Sorry I can't remember the guy who was really helpful. As we wanted just a chill week we didnt see any entertainment although Animation guys were around quite a bit. Definitely be back.

Really authentic hotel, not too big, near shopping center "medina" with lots of stuff. Sellers are not so pushy, of course every time they see you, they call you, but it's cute. Its not s offensive like in Egipt or Turkey. Food was delicious, I'm not a huge fan of sweet breakfast, so I could order for example a fresh omlette. Lunch and dinner, you can choose from grilled meat, freshly made panini or wraps, pasta, traditional couscous with meat and vegetables.... 10/10 We traveled in bigger group - 8 ppl, and everyone had illnes - honestly i think that the cause of our disease wasn't a quality of food but different bacterial flora. It's often happens, especially if you are from Europe. There are plenty of pools, one near lobby, just for relax, another one with animations, and also pool with salt water and indoor pool - everyone should find something for themeselves. There are a lot's of things included in "all inclusive" concept - Cartaghe land, Aqualand, theme restaurants, two museums, hammam. The quality of the hotel and service is faultless. Waiters, bartenders, animation team, reception team - they are so professional and always in good mood. Especially housekeepers works so hard, so tip they well! However, leave a tip if you want to appreciate the work of the staff who cared about you on your vacay :) they all deserve that. :) I didn't meet other ppl from my country, usually guests french- and english-speeking, but staff tried to make us happy and say in our language "jak się masz" (how are you) etc... simple but cute. I'm really happy that I choose Diar Lemdina hotel, and sorry for my long reviev but they deserved for best opinions about them and the best guests in the hotel. :D

On the outside this hotel looks the business, with its all singing and dancing design and feel it looks amazing, BUT, behind all this is a shoddy hotel that I’m surprised TUI have put there name to. 1st our room, on arrival we were over hours to find out we had been upgraded, and at first look the room was fantastic a 2 story apartment with balcony overlooking the front of the Main Street. But at night it became a hell to be in the music from all the bars was blaring at over 80+ decibels until gone 1 or 2 in the morning, and the apartment was covered in floor tiles which look lovely but were a nightmare with little children, both of them falling down the stairs due to its slippery properties, luckily no injury’s sustained. There were regular leaks from the beday system which flooded the toilets and bathrooms. 2nd the restaurant Small and cramped for a hotel of this size, the food was a joke the menu was catered for an Arab diet which for 2 young toddlers was a nightmare, they lived off pizza and fries and chocolate pancakes for 2 weeks. I love to try new foods but this was a joke, the food was bland or greasy and no elegance to it. Not what I expect from an all inclusive 4 star hotel. 3rd entertainment We’ll where do I start, the shows put on were rubbish and no effort put into them, the kids disco was ok but majority of songs played were in either French or Arabic, the entertainment team seemed to think it was an 80/30’s resort, I could see half of 1 of the entertainers underwear most nights and the were constantly waking around smoking and drinking alcohol. The kids club was filled with French speaking activities and the 2 minders sit on their phones and don’t interact with the kids. The music levels were so loud you couldn’t hold a conversation at your own table and you could see people and children covering their ears due to it being so loud, yet when this was flagged up on a daily basis nothing was done about it. 4th medina This hotel has a purplish built medina in it with stores for your pleasure. We had to cross it daily due to our rooms location which was a good 10 min walk to the restaurant daily you had to walk through some of the medina and harassing doesn’t come close they bombard you with offers and scams to get you to part with cash and when your just trying to get to the restaurant or pool you don’t want to be hassled. On our last night we were offered 30,000Dhina for our 1 year old daughter and when we complained to reception they didn’t look bothered just said write everything about it on a piece of paper and they look into it. Over all this was a huge let down for us and we have complained to TUI who still haven’t replied to us. Looks amazing on the outside and has some beautiful artwork within and it’s style but underneath it’s not a family resort or very English friendly it’s more catered for the French community or Arab community. As a few of us that made friends likened it to, it’s the Tunisian version of Blackpool
