Diar Lemdina Hotel stands out for its stellar location, beloved by guests for its easy access to beaches, shops, and entertainment. While opinions on value show some inconsistency, with concerns over service and extra costs, the hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, with travelers noting immaculately kept rooms. The amenities, including multiple pools and entertainment options, are often highlighted, as is the warm and efficient service provided by the staff.
Although the vibrant atmosphere is a hit, leading to a lively stay, it's worth noting that noise can be an issue for some. Rooms are generally spacious but may have occasional maintenance drawbacks.

The hotel gives you an experience of Tunisian culture, history, medina (bazar), hammam, entertainment and food.
We booked via easyjet holiday all in one package from Liverpool for 3 studio bedrooms. As the flight arrives quite late at the local time, by the time we reached the hotel the dinner time was over. There was bar open until mid-night at the reception to have drinks. They saved a plate for each person which was delivered to our room. It had one bread roll (Khobz Talian), salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomato), butter, boiled egg & salami roll which was not enough for the dinner. Even though we requested specifically for all rooms together at the time of booking more than a month in advance, we were given rooms in separate locations, stating that the hotel is fully booked, and this is the best they could provide. We were family of six and it was a quite difficult sleepless night.
Next morning we again approached the reception and expressed our concerns. The receptionist was Oumaima Mhodhbi who understood us, she had a calm sweet tone and speaks well English. She discussed with the front desk manager who apologised for our experience and upgraded us to a 3-bedroom family accommodation.
The hotel gives you experience of Sidi Bou Said city (white and blue buildings).
The food served is halal. The bar had non-alcoholic drinks option. Well enjoyed the Tunisian mint tea. There is a facility for prayers (masjid) on the first floor of the bazar section of the hotel.
Kids enjoyed the archery by the animation/entertainment team.
The beach is away from the hotel location, which is a 5min walk with a designated area for the Diar Lemdina guest. Need to pay a deposit of 20TD if you would like to have a beach towel.
During our stay the timings of the all-inclusive food served were as follows: Breakfast buffet 07:00-10:00, late breakfast (continental) 10:00-11:00, Lunch buffet 12:30-14:30, Tea & snacks 16:00-17:30, Dinner buffet 18:30-21:00. Lobby bar 10:00-00:00. Food had variety of options to choose from.
The Hammam was arranged by 3rd party. Had options of both male and female massagers. But, the full hammam experience was not to our level of expectation.
The other city tour and quad bike facilities were available via the 3rd party.
Overall stay was good, will we stay again – Yes!

This is a lovely family hotel. We went with our family (11 in total) the staff couldn't do enough for us, were very friendly and helpful the whole 10 days we were there. the hotel has 3 pools, one which is a sea water one. the biggest pool (not massive but big enough) is where the entertainment staff are always doing things, dancing, pool aerobics and lots of fun things, even handing out lovely ice creams most days and just very happy all the time. They work so very hard for very little money, we had a lot of admiration for them all. there is a pool bar beside this pool to, handy for water, soft drinks and alcohol, the sea water pool is above and the entertainment open air space and that is where you can get food all day, pizza, chips and burgers, and delicious chocolate cookies daily!. the phot beside this review is the 'quiet' pool, no only for adults but it is very nice, the rooms are really lovely and clean, however, if you do stay there avoid rooms 1624 (double) and 1322 (family room), in fact all rooms on that side of the hotel. this is because they overlook the medina where Albanian people congregate at night and from midnight until about 4 am they are entertaining themselves over coffee and music which is so loud, i defy anyone to be able to sleep, we put up with it for 2 nights but gave up and spoke to the reception staff. they were so helpful and moved us immediately without any quibble nor fuss. We were moved to a ground floor apartment type with kitchen area and fridge/freezer and it was absolutely lovely, overlooking the quiet pool and it was very peaceful and quiet. The cleaners made beautiful decorations on our bed with the towels and flowers every day and wee always friendly. It's recommended that you put 20 dinar (£5) on the pillow the first day and then 20 dinar at the end of your stay for the lady that cleans and they are so very grateful. (they get a pittance in pay and work very long hours, as to all the staff!) The food is really lovely, lots of choices and variety to suit anyone. there are two restaurants, one inside the hotel and one outside with indoor or outdoor dining. We tended to go to the outside one for evening meals and as we such a large group the waiters made up a gorgeous table which they kept for us every night, There was a young girl who was a celiac and they catered for her really well and made sure she didn't pick anything that would cause her problems. There is entertainment every night which was fine, our granddaughters (both 11) were up on the stage and on the floor dancing their hearts out every night. the Medina (indoor market) is immediately outside the hotel and there is a 'supermarket' Joys jut a few minutes walk from the main entrance to the hotel and the beach is 10 minutes away on foot and easy to get to, however, it's full of rubbish, lots of blue plastic bags and other stuff so not terribly pleasant. all in all, for a family with children, this is a lovely place to stay.

We arrived as a family and that family grew over the week. The staff are so friendly. Our cleaner Sameh was so kind and friendly and proficient in her role. We loved the little touches she left with the towels and flowers. The waiters (Steve from Leeds as he introduced himself, Dali and Hadim) at the reception and poolside bars looked after us very well. Always making sure we were topped up with drinks and having a chat. It was like seeing friends everyday with the staff and in the restaurant we were well looked after by a waiter, not sure of his name but he waited on the tables in the main area as you went in the door. Even had our table set up for us going in one night. The accommodation was very spacious and well furnished. We had a balcony room and this was a lovely little sun trap. 3 pools to use but we used the poolside pool with plenty of sun loungers available. No towel sneakers around early morning 😁 Poolside food was fresh with burgers, fries, and pizzas throughout the day. The entertainment team were very engaging and always smiling when conversing with people. Gaston, chicco and merik stood out and were like a comedy team together. They worked hard day and night with the other team to provide guests with an entertaining time. I the medina there are many shops, staff could be a bit pushy but if you said no thankyou, they left you alone. Most shops are fixed price which helps when buying. The Rovers Return in the medina is a little gem. Dawn and her husband run this restaurant. English and Tunisian food available from morning to night. Food was delicious and it was lovely to converse with a lovely Yorkshire lass (Dawn) which makes you feel at home that bit more. Overall we enjoyed our stay and felt very safe and looked after. Dira lemdina is a good hotel where you are guaranteed a good stay 👍

I arrived at the end of my stay at the Diar Lemdina hotel, I traveled with my husband and my children aged 4 and 6 and here are my impressions: the hotel is certainly very characteristic as it is located within the Medina of Yasmine Hammamet the common areas are not very large as are the 2 outdoor swimming pools which in my opinion during the high season would not be able to contain all the customers, the bar in the lobby is nice but is managed only by a barman and this causes queues endless to have a cocktail, as far as the restaurant is concerned, it is also very small, just think that at 8.00 pm it was already full and we had to wait more than half an hour to be able to sit at the table, which has never happened in other Tunisian hotels, some dishes were quite good but the dessert buffet was really "poor" as regards the rooms we stayed in the junior suite 1370 aesthetically very beautiful and spacious (70m2) with living room 2 bathrooms 2 bedrooms 1 veranda and a terrace all very nice and clean what I certainly didn't like was the 15 minute walk to get to the hall and swimming pools which were really too long and I also didn't appreciate the lack of minibar with drinks attached as we also had an all inclusive formula and no products in the bathrooms like shampoo and bars of soap but horrible dispensers with not even very good soap, the Wifi connection was present in the common areas while in the room it only worked well in the living room and in the bathroom however I feel I can recommend this because the staff was courteous and kind as was the 'entertainment team ps. just remember to book the pool view rooms which are the closest to the main hotel services!!

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon, we will list the pros and cons for the visit
Pros: Animation team were very friendly, not pushy at all when trying to get you to do activities There were three pools including a saltwater one, all very nice and good temperature, with plenty of chairs My husband very much enjoyed the archery provided! Rooms were cleaned well, cleaners left towel swans on one of the days for us Bar staff very friendly Beds were comfy, good sized pillows and just a sheet as a cover but fine because it’s so hot! Beach was quite nice
Cons: There are markets all through the middle of the hotel complex, not owned by the hotel so the people were very very pushy to get you to by things and tried to scam you (as you’d expect!) so quite annoying as we didn’t know this would be at the hotel
Our first room was meant to be really good as we said it was our honeymoon and the staff claimed it would be nice for us. However, we were placed in the square right by the markets, and every night from about 9pm until 1am or later, a man would play horrendously awful music on a keyboard and sing, SO SO loudly for hours and hours. The music was blasting through our walls and we couldn’t sleep for the first 4 nights. (Don’t know why we didn’t ask for a room change earlier!!) by night 4 we got so fed up we went to reception to ask them to ask him to turn it down or stop playing by 11 (which I think is reasonable for a hotel?) but as he wasn’t their employee it seemed they could only do so much. They said they would get him to turn it down, so we waited and no one went over to him. We went back to reception complaining again and getting more angry, then went back to our room. It seemed he turned it down briefly, then ten minutes later turned it back up again! The room is also near the main road and as it was a Saturday night people were being so loud outside. We heard fireworks and more music at 4am that went on for over an hour. The next day we demanded a room change and the reception staff were not very sympathetic and claimed they couldn’t get us a room till the next day. When we got our new room it was by the pool and very quiet, so all fine after that!! If you do come, just make sure you request a room by the pools and stay away from the markets unless you’re brave enough to face them.
The food: all meals were very limited, the same sort of things day after day. The cuts of meat were clearly very cheap and also chewy. Some things were undercooked! Breakfast was weird, basically you had three normal options of cereal, omelette or crepes, and the rest was random crap, even rice for some reason was out for breakfast?! There was pizza and chips by the pool which is what we had most days, but safe to say thats not great for your stomach, especially with the dodgy kitchen food.
Just a warning, there are people who lurk outside the hotel who claim they work there, make you trust them and then lure you to a “friend’s” shop and make you buy overpriced things again!! Don’t trust any locals here honestly

Dear Isabelle, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback from your honeymoon stay with us. We greatly appreciate your insights, both positive and constructive, as they help us improve our services. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay, including the friendly animation team, the pool facilities, archery, room cleanliness, and the comfortable beds. Your kind words about our staff and beach are heartwarming. However, we deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused by the markets within the hotel complex and the noise issue during your initial days. We understand how this affected your experience, and we appreciate your understanding of the limitations we had in addressing the situation. We're pleased that the room change resolved these issues for you. Your feedback about the food variety and quality has been noted, and we'll work on improving our culinary offerings. Additionally, we'll share your cautionary note about locals with our guests to ensure their safety and comfort. Once again, thank you for choosing us for your honeymoon, and we hope to welcome you back in the future with a more enjoyable experience. Warm regards,

My girlfriend and l were given a big apartment on the edge of the Medina. Which though a little worn was great for us with 2 bathrooms. Could be a bit noisy due to music and singing in the Medina, but generally we slept well and the beds were comfortable.
Pools were overpacked for first few days with no free sunbeds, apart from the saltwater pool. So we went to the private beach which is a 5 minute walk away.
The hotel pools had dark tiles inside which made the water appear murky. We had booked all inclusive. Food was quite good with a lot of choice, though as usual with all inclusive the meat wasn't the best quality and lots of bones. Was disappointed with the drinks. When ld stayed at another hotel in Tunisia in March all the cocktails were free, but here you had to pay for most of them and in the reception bar they often gave you plastic cups unless you insisted in having glass. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful.
Hotel is only 21 years old but has lots of traditional character.
Cleaners were great and helpful, always offering extra sheets and towels and keeping rooms clean
Overall a good enjoyable stay.

Having stayed here last July, we decided to return for a bit of sun and a relaxing break. We instantly felt like we were part of the family, it was lovely to be recogocnised by some of the team who were still there. We stayed in the Medina area last year and near the larger pool this year ( for us this was better ) The rooms are cleaned regularly, and ours was decorated daily with flowers and towel shapes, big rooms with lots of space. Every member of the team is friendly, always a hello as they go past. Jamil ( bar manager ) and his team were always happy to assist with any drinks and did so with a smile, asking how we were daily, also remembering what we had at certain times of day. Restaurant team are always happy, smiling and again took time to ask how we were, we ate inside and out in the Medina, both areas very clean, looked after and the food had plenty of variety, something for everyone. Plenty of beds around the pools, and the areas around them are well kept and clean. Moving the Snack bar to the entertainment area works much better, though the steps are slippy when wet. The beach area was clean and plenty of sunbeds, pizza from the beach bar was a hit with us. Yes people try to get you in the shops in the Medina but a polite no thank you normally works. We have loved both stays here, Sad to leave on both occasions but we will be back, hopefully next year and I have my fingers crossed for the same room. We met some lovely people and had a lot of laughs. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday.

Short but pleasant stay from 21/10/2024 to 25/10/2024, we left with family it was short but great. The food is varied very nice personal. We took advantage of the hamam offered 30 min then we got massaged good it was not a massage of any rest it shook us a lot 🫤 we visited Hammamet center go by bus 1 dinars per person return by taxi 15 dinars, we made the previous city and its souk... we visited Tunis and its souk worth the detour, the cathedral, the Avenue of the fields of their home, Carthage, Sidi bou Said with its coffee of delights to go there we took a private driver attention the rates vary enormously. Very sincerely we had a great stay. Staff very pleasant, smiling, kind always to help you, guide not to do this "have" the hotel has 4 swimming pools one with sea water and one covered and heated. The hotel is located in the medina in the souk but be careful modern souk with exorbitant prices even when negotiating... We are a blended family so we took 2 rooms, the hotel offered us a family suite with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a terrace without extra cost while the agency offers it for 60€ extra Attention on arrival you must pay tourist taxes so plan a minimum of cash (28€ for four nights 2 adults and 2 children 12 and 13 years) We will be happy to return.

We traveled with Apollo, which was less good. We were detained at passport control for over 5 hours. Apollo did not contact us, but left without us and did not check if we arrived at the hotel, but we had to fix everything ourselves. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Without the staff it would not have been a good trip. The food was quite ok, with variety. However, no allergy options and no signs on what the food contains. Neither is lactose-free ice cream. The surroundings around the hotel were like that. It was dirty, and smelled bad. The sea was also dirty, with days when there were diapers, ties and plastic bags floating in the sea. The beach was also very dirty. But it did not have to be so, the beach staff could have gone out in the morning and cleaned up the water and cleaned up the beach. You had to walk about 500 m to the beach on a dirty street that smelled like urine. The selection of restaurants in the area was scant, nothing at all compared to for example Turiket. It feels like Tunisia is about 5-10 years behind in terms of tourism. In a few years I think they can be great, but so far, according to us there is still a lot to do and learn about tourism, but now this is outside the hotel. The hotel was great. Taking a taxi was quite ok, as long as you get a fare before you get into the taxi, otherwise they can overcharge. But most gave a reasonable price, and they were kind when asked about what to see. Another thing to know is to save the receipt when withdrawing money from the machine, because if you do not have the receipt left, you can not exchange the money back before you go home. And you can't leave the country with your Tunisian money. Even at the airport, it is not possible to change back without a receipt for your withdrawal. And you can not use up your dinar inside the airport for example food or similar because after you turn in your bags they only take cards or dollars. We stayed for two weeks, in retrospective a week would have been enough, because the surroundings did not offer so much in the evenings so we spent a lot at the hotel and it quite quickly became a bit boring. We are a couple in our 30s not looking to "party" but still be able to sit on an outdoor terrace by the sea and be able to enjoy. But it wasn't like this, we were sitting in the hotel.

Upon arrival we were wowed by the exterior look of the hotel, and check in was great, very informative and really friendly, brought us some lovely refreshments whilst we were taken through the hotel map (which is huge). We were given a fab 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment complete with a kitchen, living room, balcony and second external area. The food was ok, though doesn’t seem to keep hot under the hot lights and the drinks are what you’d expect from an all inclusive. Great market area with plenty of shops for those shopaholics. The entertainment team were good, though there was one of the girls who needs to understand safety of children. There were a couple of groups of children playing one evening and she kept telling them to go and play outside (next to a pool) or ushering them out by the hand, I feel if they were creating a safety issue she should be just asking them to not run around/sit where they are sitting or just pick up with the parents, not be putting them in danger by making them play outside unsupervised by the pool (especially when it’s is heavily raining and the pool side is slippy - hence why they were playing inside in the first place as there are no covered areas to sit outside when it’s bouncing it down). The pool area in the daytime is great, not too manic which can be the case at family friendly resorts. The lifeguards are very friendly and happy to help. Overall this venue is good, it’s just the female entertainer’s lack of safety knowledge when it comes to children that is a cause for concern.

We went as a couple in May and had a wonderful holiday, the hotel is actually built into the walls of the medina so you can exit the hotel directly into the medina for a wander around and a mint tea. Hubby had a great wet shave a couple of times and we enjoyed some great meals in the evening. The hotel is a short walk from the beach but we mainly stayed by the quiet pool our room, a two bed duplex with kitchenette was lovely, cleaned daily with quality bedding. Food was good with tunisian and european choices, fresh fruit offered with every meal and the fresh made doughnuts for breakfast were very tempting. They also offer fresh squeezed orange juice with breakfast complete with bits...
