Mehari Hammamet is a hotel that receives polarized feedback from its guests. While the hotel's cleanliness and amenities are generally appreciated, with particularly clean pools noted, some guests have encountered issues with inconsistent cleaning and missing essential items. The rooms are a point of contention, with opinions divided between spaciousness and neglect.
The atmosphere is lively for some, yet others describe it as noisy with a lack of engagement. Guests commend the staff's friendliness but have also experienced service inconsistencies, and many feel the hotel's value does not align with the costs.

We have just returned from an all-inclusive stay at the Méhari hotel. The hotel is categorized as 5 stars but be careful it must correspond to the standards of Tunisia since in my opinion it is no better than a 3 star in Europe, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools are tiny compared to the size of the hotel. hotel, the water in the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi is very cold which is very unpleasant, the meals are very little varied and of fairly average quality, the all inclusive is a real scam, snacks are only available for 2 hours in the afternoon, the rooms, although spacious, are very old, the air conditioning does not work, the bathtub stopper is not airtight, the television is constantly skipping and the wifi works very poorly except in the entrance hall of The elevators are very slow and the top buttons don't work, there are stained carpets all over the floors and in the rooms. The animation team is a real disaster, the animator in charge of aquagym is more interested in his reflection in the windows than in the activity he is leading, another prefers to sit on the deckchairs with the girls sunbathing to make fun of the vacationers' physique, my 7 year old daughter was one of the only children in the hotel but she was not able to take advantage of dedicated activities, she wanted to do belly dancing with the host but she was put behind all the alcoholic adults and failed to attract his attention. I would end on a positive note which is worth my 3 star review, the hotel staff (excluding entertainers) whether it is the very smiling cleaning lady, the very professional and serious outdoor pool manager, the really charming receptionists and finally the managers and servers in the room and especially Walid who was adorable with our daughter and took great care of us. I really think that the notion of 5 stars does this hotel a disservice since vacationers really expect superior services. In short, I don't think I'll return to Méhari.

Cons The un-entertainment team, as they should be known were awful. If you consider having cold water poured on you when pool side, or ice put down your shorts, they may be you thing. Our 7 nights there, 2 of the shows were called Showtime, 2 Arabian Nights, and 2 attempts at Karaoke, which lasted 30 minutes as they couldn't get anyone to sing. The aqua aerobics was so lack luster, no music and again, samey. The worst thing they did was to insult the intelligence of my partner, and then didn't apologise and walked away laughing. The un-entertainment team would be playing table tennis on their own for hour(s). They were the worst I have experience. This review needs to be bought to their attention as a learning curve. The rooms seemed a little tired. They were clean and comfortable, but could do with some attention if they are going to continue with the 5 star tag. The food was very edible, but could get rather tiresome as there was little change day after day. It got to the point where we had to go out for a couple of nights for something different.
Pros The catering staff, waiters, bar tenders (mention here for Osama, keep him as he is a young star) were so friendly and helpful. The biggest asset any company has is it's people. Make the most of these people and invest in them. They are the face of the hotel, and make everyone's holiday better. Can I please also include the reception staff. Even with me being a bit of a pain in the butt, they were so helpful and friendly. The public spaces, the lobby is beautiful. You can see what the place use to be. Please get back and keep these standards up. Loads of places to be for rest and sunbathing. The 2 pools and the beach. We did try the beach, but it wasn't us. We preferred the pool, but the bars were always available to chill.
In general, the area needs tourism to return after so many negative issues. If they don't get the people coming back, it will never get better. A taxi to Nabeul Madina is worth a trip out. Give yourself a couple of hours to walk about. The cost of the taxi is about 35 - 40 Dina each way and Friday apparently is the day to go. A nice walk to the marina is worth it. And the Barberoussa restaurant is very nice, but lots of food. Be warned.

Let's just start by saying the bad reviews , they must be at a different place
Good points Hotel clean Food amazing you won't go hungry Maids amazing Beer good Service amazing
Bad points, Were going home
We arrived just after restaurant closed, reception gave us our wristband and sent us to the bar to get a drink why he checked us in, went to room and a nice big plate of food soon arrived very good, Pool area , they have 2 pool we went in the one next to the restaurant as it served beer the other didn't, you can get freshly made pizzas , panini's, burgers and chips, all yummy , you get a towel card and get a towel round the pool, pool man will get u a bed , so never without, even at 1pm still beds available The waiters are amazing coming round asking if you wanted drinks, we tipped the waiters as so friendly 10 Dina
Lobby bar Again amazing service we were looked after and waiters also come round if sat outside or in the huge lobby area, also tipped 10 Dina If you smoke you can smoke anywhere even at the bar, wife loved that.
Restaurant
Breakfast, don't expect a full English , boiled eggs, meat usual continental offerings, but the did make omlette and pancakes Tea and coffee, and smoothies
Lunch was quite basic with loads of cold offerings like salads, meats, etc Chefs cooking pizza, chips and another cooking fish and usually chicken
Evening meal More hot dishes like lamb, chicken, beef , selection of vegetables and the cold buffet items Cakes were good but very sweet. You won't go hungry unless your vegan lol
Night entertainment was outside by the other pool , wasn't brilliant wasn't awful but after a few beers it sounded good , beer after 8pm at the other pool
Rooms Clean had a bed, separate toilet, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, 2 single beds pushed together but were huge really, a fridge but nothing in but they put water in room , plenty of storage, carpet in room Maids were amazing, came everyday, fresh towels and even made fancy folding of clothes if left on bed
Security on both doors aswell Everyone very friendly and felt so safe So to all the moaners well I don't know
Good to tip don't forget poor wages, 10 Dina £3.80 it's nothing Can't wait to come back, defo 5 star with 10 star service. If you rely on WiFi you will struggle Perfect in lobby area hot and miss everywhere else. I'm on holiday not Facebook

I wish I took all the 1* reviews seriously and didn’t believe any of the fake 5* reviews! Book if you’re happy to stay with all the negatives mentioned in all the reviews. But don’t for a moment book believing it’s anything more than a 2-3* by any standards!
Our stay at Mehari Hammamet was extremely disappointing to say the least, a hotel falsely advertised as 5-star. Our stay was marked by numerous issues, both with the accommodation and the service.
Upon arrival, while we were provided with the connected rooms we requested, one of the rooms (Room 161) had an unbearable smell of open sewer, which worsened throughout our stay. Despite raising this with the reception, no solutions were offered, and the odour continued to resurface. The rooms were also in a state of disrepair, with a broken fridge, loose furniture, broken patio trims simply left at the side, and broke bed legs.
Our rooms were a fair distance walk through two long corridors which were very poorly lit during evenings/nights, and very dark during the day! The lights would be switched off most days despite there only being one window right at the end to light the entire corridor. The overall atmosphere of the whole resort was dull, gloomy, aged, and sad - every single part of the place from the outside to the inside, from the pool to the bedrooms!
Cleanliness was another major concern. Bugs and ants were found in both bathrooms on separate occasions, and we had to repeatedly request for the rooms to be cleaned adequately. It took several complaints before any consistent cleaning service was provided. Additionally, essential amenities such as kettles and tea/coffee were not included, and when requested, were simply advised to get it all ourselves from the restaurant during lunch/dinner – something I would not expect even from lower-rated hotels.
The restaurant service was subpar, with dirty plates and glasses, and a shortage of basic cutlery, particularly spoons. We frequently had to wait for plates and were often ignored when requesting drinks or water. The state of the swimming pools and children’s play areas was unsafe, with broken equipment and hazards that made the facilities unusable for our children. The children’s play ground is literally just a pile of cheap outdated and broken plastic climbing frames! The play/activity room was disgusting, with open trash bags and cigarette buds on the floor, outdated and worn out chairs/tables, and bits and pieces of toys that can’t even be played with.
When I attempted to raise my concerns with the hotel manager, I was repeatedly dismissed, and no one took responsibility for addressing the issues. The lack of basic customer service and accountability was shocking. Then again, it wasn’t a case of fixing one or two issues - then entire “resort” needed fixing!
Given the premium we paid, the overall experience was far below expectations, even for a 3-star hotel, let alone a 5-star. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel unless significant improvements are made to both the facilities and the service.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the standards of the hotel for future guests.

It is very far from a 5 star. I'd say a maximum 2 or 3.
The - Wifi absent in the rooms , there are only at the reception so everyone piles up or you have to stay outside the door of the room to get eaten by mosquitoes. Mosquitoes and cockroaches invaded the hotel , they could put plugs to decrease a little or even a little perfume or flowers to brighten up a little. It is a shame because the hotel is nice. Food = not good at all , repetitive , inedible frozen meat , not very clean , even the hotel restaurant that is outside is not good!! Cleanliness = dirty carpets Room= Air conditioning does not work , single beds when you need a double bed , uncomfortable mattress , not very friendly staff , obvious lack of training , animation to help!! The poor they do what they can but really almost non-existent!! The mini club don’t talk about it. No one puts their children , the games are dangerous and the staff not very motivated but at the same time considering their salary , it is normal!! The swimming pool or lifeguard on the first floor is infectious , he smells alcohol at miles . He thinks that hitting on little kids instead of doing his job! He starts picking up the deckchairs at 4pm!! And the pool closes at 6:00 p.m. Max so when we have kids taking a nap, we can't enjoy the pool, we kick you out if at 5:30 p.m. you're still on the deckchairs! We feel oppressed in this hotel , they monitor everything and do not hesitate to come and give you reflections . I’m used to traveling around the world and this is the second time I’ve seen this. Very disappointed and I think I will never return to Tunisia!! The pools are small and no atmosphere , no play air for children while they have the place . The sofas at the reception are not clean. It’s a shame but it’s sorely unprofessional! They did not fully understand the concept of holidays! The spa is not bad but not worthy of a 5-star spa and not conducive to relaxation or escape.
The +
Reception is old but pretty enough , the rooms are spacious with terrace , the location is ideal , the paintings are clean . He continues the renovation!! Hotel with potential, what a pity!

This hotel is unfortunately not 5 star. The positive points: the room is spacious and the bedding is comfortable. The food is varied and good except for pastries and pastries. The negative points: the staff is not welcoming or smiling. The wifi does not catch well in the room. The outdoor swimming pool is small and the indoor one is without a lifeguard. When you arrive in the room there is not even a bottle of water, no bath cap or kettle. The sink was clogged. Cleaning is brief between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. We found a cockroach in the hallway.

So as we were dropped off at the hotel we were pleasantly suprised by the initial look of the hotel, beautiful reception area. Check I'm was quick, we were given a welcome drink, I couldn't tell you what it was but I couldn't drink it. Our room was huge but very outdated, and a view of nothing. The food is the same everyday, everything tastes the same, the omelette at breakfast was OK but nothing special, no fresh juice, warm water dispenser. The 'snack bar' is pizza that they cook and its a race to get a slice. Every other hotel I've stayed in the have a menu that you can order from. No alcohol drinks served at the pool bar on the ground floor, no alcohol drinks served at the beach, just coke, fanta and water in the smallest disposable cups. All drinks are warm unless you get beer, no ice. In that heat all we wanted was a cold drink! The sea is full of floaters and rubbish that sticks all over you. Reception staff not approachable at all, rude. Dismissive. When we checked out they didn't even ask how our stay was or say goodbye just took the key card and carried on doing whatever they was doing. Same at the reception bar.
The only good part for us was the annimation team, absolutely brilliant bunch of people, always happy and friendly, welcoming to EVERYONE! They entertain the best they can with what they are given. The bar staff at the pool on the first floor are brilliant too, especially the waiter who brings all your drinks to you and doesn't let you wait. Couldn't do enough for everyone.
Absolutely not a 5* hotel at all, I'd say it was 2* at a push and were not even fussy people. We've stayed in 2* before and been happy but when you book 5* you at least expect a cold drink and a smile. Wouldn't return, it's put us off returning to tunisia again which is a shame.

Nice Inn well located near the medina of Yasmin Hammamet, we had a nice room (310) with a very large balcony. The Pension would still need a renovation. Beautiful swimming pool, private beach and quality food. At our check-in we would have liked to give explanations about the different Pension services (where is the pool, restaurant room, get the key to the room safe...) but nothing was done and we had to go back to reception each time to have this information, otherwise all the staff is rather helpful and friendly except the lifeguard, a horror! Every day he made us understand that we disturbed him when we wanted a deckchair or a towel

Came to mehari last year and it was great so decided to return, was very disappointed how dramatically it had changed, hardly any waiting staff in bar had to go and get your own drinks, the food was the same in the restaurant ended up eating out and not even bothering to go, never any towels at the pool, but pool man always put beds out with towels on first thing in the morning for certain people even if they didn’t even end up going to the pool, the food and the pool bar is absolutely awful, the burgers were stone cold as the panini press they put them on only warms the roll, burgers not covered up flys everywhere, I’d be very surprised if no one came down I’ll they should realise the amount of food people were leaving on plates and not eating, they were forever running out of cola and different spirits. The rooms were lovely and the maids did an excellent job, this years animation team shocking, I can’t beleive how the hotel has changed so much in 12 months, there were so many return guests saying exactly the same. Mehari what’s happened

We had a great stay at this hotel 3 weeks This is a luxurious hotel with plenty of well maintained space
the room was well arranged with lots of storage , space , very clean every day, thanks to mom and all the housekeeping staff, just lacks sockets that 2 to charge devices ..... and the TV the French channels did not work cut off all the time, TF1 non-existent you had to go down to the common lounge for the matches football Euro 2024 not cool
Catering , good food is quite varied well for 1 week for 3 weeks a little repetitive without originality too family for a 5*, we still ate especially breakfasts, fruit, ice cream and cakes, thanks to Ishein our waiter who made us have wonderful times
Beautiful beach not private, clean sea without seaweed, cleaned every day bravo for the courage of the very pleasant lifeguard The staff is very dedicated, at the very attentive central bar, throughout the establishment in general
The pool from 8am the seats occupied by beach towels put by the lifeguard himself? a little unpleasant besides, we never went there too bad for entertainment
Many times we spend our holidays in Tunisia, Jeba, Monastir, we are frequent travelers
Overall we had a great holiday , the staff pampered us we thank them all
If you leave the hotel through the parking lot, there is 300m to the right a small medina, Souks, with great cheap souvenir markets
