Situated in a small riverine forest, Caprivi Mutoya Lodge & Campsite lies on the banks of a tranquil backwater of the Zambezi River, approximately 24km east of Katima Mulilo. A variety of accommodation is available, which includes en-suite self-catering tents, self-catering chalets, and a campsite. For those not wishing to cater, delicious meals are available in the restaurant. Facilities on offer includes a bar and restaurant, small seating area with books & games; and access to WIFI. Surrounding the restaurant is a large wooden deck, with a fire pit, offering stunning lake views. There is also a small swimming pool for those wishing to cool off on sweltering hot days. On offer are a variety of water activities. Bicycles are available for guests wishing to explore the surrounding bush and forest areas. Guests can row out on canoes to view crocodiles, hippos and the myriad of birds the lake has to offer. For the more adventurous we can arrange a traditional Makoro (African canoe) ride for a bit of cultural experience. Boat outings are also on offer for fishing, sundowners and bird viewing. Fishing is done from either our boats on the lagoon, or organised for on the main Zambezi River through other lodges. The arrays of fish that can be caught include tiger fish, barbel, pike, a variety of bream and other lesser-known species. Caprivi Mutoya supports catch and release. For those only wanting to relax, nature watching can be done from the restaurant deck overlooking the water. Nature walks can also be taken around the lodge and within the surrounding forests. Trips to view Southern Africa’s largest Carmine Bee Eater’s colony can also be arranged. Day tours can be organised to either Bwabwata National Park in Namibia, Chobe National Park in Botswana or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

We really were not expecting such luxury, it was really a very nice surprise. Our hosts were chatty and charming. The accomodation was perfect. Just simple and clean, fully functional. Beds, plumbing everything. Mischievous monkeys on site , so be careful.

Excellent place. The owners and staff were very friendly, especially Zayne and Fidelis. Great service. We stayed in the Luxury Tents for five days and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Nice relaxing atmosphere and some activities like canoeing, swimming and fishing.

I spent 2 nights here in one of the chalets as self-catering guest. Very clean, everything you need, including aircondition for the hot temperatures. Beautiful gardens, abundant birdlife. Never got to the canoeing but will stay here again for sure.

Our stay at Caprivi Mutoya lodge were magnificent. We arrived on the 22nd Oct 2021. We felt that we are at home away from home. The host Nonna was an amazing hostess. We were treated as if we were old friends. Her hospitality was amazing. She immediately arranged my Zambezi river fishing and sundowner cruise. I managed two barbels, the tiger fish still missing from my bucket list. The food, drinks and hospitality and rooms were of high standard, Thanks Nonna for your personal touch to our amazing stay. We spent three nights at Caprivi Mutoya enjoying the lush green site under bog shady trees. We did two sunset paddling tours with the Canon. Wonderful! They are free for guests. You can but fresh fish at the village nearby There are nice bungalows which guarantee more comfort. The owners are very friendly and we had a warm welcome! Come and see!

We spent 2 nights in a cottage on the bank of the Zambezi at the Caprivi Mutoya. The staff and facilities were great and this made our time there birding very pleasant. We did a late afternoon boat trip through the back channels and the river proper seeing lots of interesting birds and scenery. The patio where meals are served is under a huge Jackalberry tree. A spectacular setting for watching sunrise or sunset while sipping a cool drink.

Prime purpose of visit was to fish for Tiger and spend time on the Zambezi. It didn’t disappoint, caught a 3.5 kg fish. Fidelis, our guide again was great. Such a nice man and very experienced. The location is lovely on a lake. Chalets well equipped and very clean. Good clean pool, lovely setting and well maintained environment.

We only stayed for one night as we were on our way back from our trip. However would not have minded staying another night. We had a lovely swim in the pool which was very clean. Staff was friendly and food was good.

The entire campsite is covered with grass, but there are no partitions between campsites. The ablution is clean and tidy, but there is only a problem with water supply. If you shower and someone opens the tap at the sinks, your shower dries up ... The service at the Lodge itself was very good. We also enjoyed the outside pool.
