The Royal Blue Resort garners praise for its attentive service and stunning location, where beautiful sunsets are a highlight, despite its somewhat remote setting. Guests appreciate the hotel's cleanliness and luxurious atmosphere, complete with tranquil entertainment and a stylish Greek design. While the spacious, modern rooms with sea views are a hit, and amenities like various pools and fresh food options receive commendations, some visitors point out that the dining and additional services can be costly, and there is room for improvement in amenities and room servicing.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and 15 year old daughter. I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in around the world. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with a cold drink and checking was fast as you don't stand in queue. Then we were taken for a quick tour of the resort by golf buggy before being taken to our room. We stayed in Superior Ocean View room and it was very comfortable and spotless with great view of ocean. The entire resort is spotless and extremely covid safe. The resort offers everything you need from a large salt water pool, private beach, fresh water pool for adults only, water sports from parasailing, jet ski , speed boat and water ski. The hotel has two ala carte restaurants and various bars where you can enjoy a drink or lunch by the pool or the beach. We use the spa which was absolutely brilliant. The hotel also offers Antigen and PCR tests for guests returning daily from 10 to 11 am. Breakfast was great with wide choice for everyone.
We never had problem finding a sunbed by the pool or at the beach no matter what time of the day it was.
The hotel is very peaceful even when it's full.
I would like to say our outmost thank you to the following staff:
Maria and Leylazovatich(apologies if I spelt this wrong) in guest relations who were so welcoming and made sure our stay was as comfortable as it could be. Nothing was too much to ask from them, they always provided the best service throughout with a smile.
Sofia who always welcomed us with a great warm and friendly smile each breakfast.
Peter who served us evening drinks at the bar , he was such a nice friendly person with great service.
Manos, Fatini, Ioanna and Zafirena at the spa
All the above made our stay that much more special.
I have stayed in many luxury hotels from Burj Al Arab in dubai to Bannyon Tree and North Island in Seychelles and I can honestly say the service and friendliness of staff is in par with all of them.
I one hundred percent recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back again.
Thank you for making our stay so wonderful and we had a perfect holiday at this resort .

We booked a 5 night stay in a Luxury Suite with private pool and loved every second of our holiday.

The hotel itself has a really nice contemporary finish and our room was really spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The quality of the hotel is really high throughout and whilst there are a few small signs of wear and tear (odd mosaic tile missing from our pool for example), there was nothing that actually diminished our stay or stopped us enjoying the hotel.

We spent most of our time at the hotel beach and thought it was absolutely excellent. The mostly enclosed bay meant that everyone could enjoy the water without there ever being strong waves to be wary off, while you can venture out into the open sea if you want. There seemed to be so many sun beds on the beach that even if the hotel were completely full I still think there would be plenty of room for everyone, although we spent each day in one of the many beach cabana's to give us extra shade from the 35 degree sun! The beach service was also great and we usually found the staff appeared after only a minute or two at our cabana to happily take our order, which is impressive given they have to run up and down a number of ramps to get back and forth from the bar.

Although we didn't use the main pool it looked really great from the poolside restaurant (highly recommend the octopus starter) and like the beach never felt crowded with plenty of loungers to choose from. We loved the fact that our private pool (and the main pool) were actually salt water, meaning none of that lovely chlorine smell, whilst the salt water in our pool seemed really mild.

For a buffet breakfast and dinner we thought the food was really good and offered a really wide selection that should cater for most. Whilst the majority is kept the same each day there are also a number of variations meaning you shouldn't get board. The lamb one evening was particularly delicious. We also booked the seafood restaurant Asterias one evening and have to say the food was excellent, so would recommend that as a must-do. The only slight thing of note, and likely due to having reduced staff because of Covid, was that once you have been seated and then offered drinks in any of the restaurants, getting the staff's attention again is quite difficult, so ordering additional drinks can take some time.

We found the staff to always be incredibly friendly and happy to help, and in particular Ernest who waited on us during a private dinner overlooking the beach one night.

Overall we loved our stay and thought the hotel was exactly what we would expect of a 5 star, basically allowing us to completely relax in a beautiful setting whilst everything is taken care of for you. Would definitely recommend, especially because of the amazing sunsets experienced perfectly from the restaurants.

The beginning of our stay did not was very nice: poor reception, no porter (we had to take care of our luggages ourselves), parking lot full, and no advice or help on where to leave the car. Then arrival at the buffet, lukewarm food and dirty children chair.

We were very surprised because the review of this hotel were laudatory.

We shared our disappointment with the manager who took our comments into consideration and did his best to make the rest of our stay as good as possible.

Our room was very beautiful and comfortable, the sea view is a real plus. If you can afford a rooms with the pool do not hesitate, they are stunning.

The hotel has created a sandy beach, which is very clean and pleasant. They provide clean towels everyday and offer some fruits directly on the beach.

Personally we found the food of the buffet a bit too basic, not always hot and not super tasty. Maybe because of COVID the staff was a little bit more stressed than the habit.

We recently spent 11 days at the Royal blue. We had a great time on the whole but I’d say there is room for improvement to make it a true 5 star hotel.
The room was modern comfortable and clean, no need to pack your hair dryer as they have one which has several power and heat settings. One morning after returning from breakfast house keeping asked if they could clean our room. We said give us 10 minutes to grab our beach things and we’ll be out from under your feet. 3 times within those 10 minutes the maid banged on our door, which I found quite rude and unnecessary
The buffet was good but a little monotonous after a week , lots of the food had the wrong food descriptions by them which could be a disaster for anyone with allergies.
The dine around was disappointing . We were half board and could dine in the other restaurants and we had €12 credit which was a bit skinny especially as on most menus that wouldn’t even buy a starter . I think there should be a set menu for half board guests to dine from at the a la carte restaurants or a credit of at least €25 each.
There were always plenty of sun beds by the pool and on the beach and they were comfortable padded sun loungers. Finding a beach towel wasn’t an easy job. I’d suggest having one location that is manned all day is the best way to improve this .
The hotel is on a hill and although there’s ramps I’d say it’s not really for anyone with walking difficulties.
There’s a shop a short walk from the hotel that sells drinks and ice creams cheaper than the hotel. A taxi to panormos cost €8 each way were you’ll find a handful of shops bars and restaurants.
There’s not much going on in the hotel which suited us but if you want entertainment you will have to make your own or go elsewhere.
The gym was decent and the spa looked amazing although. The hotel is very instagramable but there’s a just few things they could do to improve it. Andy from the buffet restaurant really is very good at his job. He remembered our drinks order from the previous day each morning , anticipating customer needs and exceeding expectations that what makes great staff working in a customer environment so hats off to him.
Like I said we had a great time, there were just a few things that could make this hotel better. We got a private transfer to and from Heraklion airport which took just over an hour which was well worth it to avoid a 2 hour coach transfer .

My parents and me booked the Royal Blue Resort only 2 weeks before our trip started due to COVID and it was the very right choice to go there!

The hotel is modern, very beautiful and directly at the Beach. It has a lot of pools, bars and restaurants and you can choose in which you will have dinner or you can choose the buffet.
Breakfast was buffet and we had a big choice between different kind of food.

Our rooms have been very clean and big, they had good air conditioning and a nice balcony as well!

We also used the Spa which has a lot of different types of massage, manicure and even a hairdresser. Our choice was a massage and it was wonderful relaxing.

For dinner we mostly chose the ‚A la carte restaurants‘ Elia, which had typical Greek food, and Asterias, which offered you fresh fish and an amazing view of the ocean.
The team of these two restaurants is very friendly and professional and they always recommended delicious food and drinks! You never have to wait too long until you get your meal or drink and sometimes you also can enjoy some live music.

We enjoyed our stay so much and we want to thank the whole Royal Blue Team for their friendly and professional service! Special greetings to Miltos - alias Lewandowski ;) - and his team from the Asterias :)

We hopefully come back soon!

We had a wonderful week at The Royal Blue Hotel in Panormo. The hotel area is beautiful and clean, with soft sunbeds at the pool as well as at the hotel's private beach. With an half board arrangement, you are regularly having dinner at the buffet main restaurant. Anytime you like there is also the option to use the hotel's á la carte restaurants with a discount on the dishes in exchange for skipping the buffet. The selection of food was creative and of high quality, ranging from fresh fish to typical Cretan dishes. In the á la carte restaurants the dishes were prepared a littlebit more beautiful than in the buffet restaurant of course. Remarkable was the friendly staff. Here we have Maria from the á la carte restaurants, who was able to create a warm and individual atmosphere. Manilo from the buffet restaurant managed to bring his good mood to the guests even in the early morning. Restaurant supervisor Miltos was very attentive to all needs. Restaurant manager Stavros always kept a watchful eye to make sure that everything works well. Don't hesitate to ask Stavros for a wine recommendation. He will definitely tell you his opinion!

Photos and words don’t do this hotel justice. I stayed for 5 nights on my own and loved every second. From the moment you walk in the door you are made to feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

The food was delicious and a huge selection at breakfast and the main dinner option in the evening. The room was as it looked on the pictures and even the Garden view rooms as the cheaper option are beautiful, clean and spacious. Each day the cleaning team would come and make up the room, even mopping the floor and wiping down. The pool and private beach were always quiet and you could always get a lounger.

I took a day trip to Rethymno which was a short bus ride and the hotel staff had so many options for days out they would help facilitate. Rethymno is worth a visit, very beautiful old town.

Overall a well run hotel, so many lovely personal touches. If you are thinking of booking, do it!

Thank you to all the staff who make this place so special.

It is easy to see why this hotel is popular as it caters to everyone and boasts a huge variety of facilities, including an excellent Spa. The hotel actively solicit guests to review their experiences during their stay and in doing so, are inviting feedback that may not all be positive. I will rate the hotel, in terms of facilities, a definitive excellent, as their can be no disputing the fact that it caters to so many and that is a great USP. Unlike Mykonos, Crete is altogether more beautiful and what it lacks, comparatively, in terms of food quality, it more than makes up for in terms of things to do. I found that Housekeeping and in room Maintenance, were both poor during my stay, despite reporting the Housekeeping failures on the second day of my 10 day stay. Failing to empty the bins, failure to remove tea stains on the floor and replace used towels and both bathroom amenities and milk and sugar jiggers, are very basic issues, but both persisted for the duration of my stay. Cracking and blistering plaster on the walls is both unsightly and unwanted and detracts from the rest of the room. Front facing staff throughout were friendly and helpful and poolside / beachside service was faultless. The hotel is situated somewhat remotely in Panormos, so unless you rent a car or book some other excursion, independent of the hotel, it is easily possible to spend the entire trip in the Resort. The views and sunrise and sunsets are as gorgeous as you will find anywhere in the Mediterranean or anywhere else for that matter.

A perfect cloudless in every way week at the Royal Blue. The lovely welcome at reception with the sparkling extra was replicated all week by all of the staff who were so polite and helpful which all made a special week for us.
The resort was so beautifully maintained with vivid flowers adding to the overall perfect feel. The bars were chilled with excellent service and the cocktails especially the Greek Siesta were perfect ways to end an evening. Pools that were not overcrowded with well spaced loungers just complimented everything else.
Our villa was more than we expected from the photos so cool and chic. We were so lucky to have our own pool with an amazing view of the azure sea and watch sunrise and sunset. The maids were so lovely and ensured rooms were spotless and that our stay was perfect the little extras of fruit, chocolates just added to the feel good factor.
The restaurant service was amazing everyone was just so focused on providing a perfect experience and although the hotel was full it did not feel that you were rushed or that anything was too much trouble. Both breakfast and dinner were fantastic with so much choice and the food was excellent (a special mention to the omelette chef).
Thankyou for making this a special chilled relaxing cloudless week for us.

We stayed at this resort in September and were very impressed with the facilities. The resort is very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. Due to Covid, the buffet breakfast is obviously different and although this had some challenges, they certainly made every effort to provide a great experience while still enabling everyone to enjoy their time. The resort was also probably not as busy as usual due to Covid which meant there was no overcrowding at the beach or the swimming pools. Overall this was an excellent resort, with friendly and helpful staff, especially in the restaurant.
