Last minute booking due to our flights to Turkey being cancelled. We upgraded to 2 x superior rooms. These are closer to the beach and we paid for a sea view (if that’s what you call it) more of a tree view. Arrived late at night and the stench outside was just rancid! However the room was immaculately clean and food and drink left in the fridge for our arrival which was appreciated. Always somewhere to sit in the restaurant and food was plentiful for each meal. Could have maybe done with being a bit hotter at times but I tended to live off salads for the duration of our holiday so it didn’t affect me as much. There’s 3 pools. We went to the big pool where no slides. Must say I’m a water baby and so are my kids but the water was bloody freezing for the whole 9 days, there’s no way it’s heated! Lots of Sunbeds but kind of expected that as it was the last two weeks of the season. I think you’d struggle to get a subbed in the height of the season! Drinks were plentiful although to have to pay for cocktails! Only 1 pool bar open due to being end of season. All staff super friendly. This is my third visit to Kos, different areas each time, love the island and love the locals, so friendly. Only negatives are watch that horse at the mini zoo on-site as it bit my daughter on her tummy, so watch kiddies fingers. food could have done with being hotter and a bit smelly outside the rooms in a evening occasionally.…
Nice place, too much good beach, everything was good. We were there with baby and possibilities to have fun and nice time were excellent. Staff in hotel was very friendly.. Room was clean and good very tasty. Thank you :) !
Beyond disappointing. Definitely no 4 star hotel! 2 at best!! Scruffy, smelly, dirty, rude staff, dirty pools, broken furniture, run down in the middle of no where and basically in need of a refurb. Absolutely gutted when we arrived, not only was it dark, so struggled to see and find our feet but it STANK and I mean STANK. Then to spend another hour, with our 8 year old ADHDer who had spent the entire day travelling, was bored, restless and starving to try and find our room! This was his first holiday abroad and he’s already refused to go anywhere on a plane again! Couldn’t help feel restless myself once we found the room and got semi settled to worry what the rest of the week would bring in this dump! I hoped it was just a nightmare but unfortunately it wasn’t and the rest of the week wasn’t much crack either. The staff, in my opinion need sacking, or intense training, no one wanted to do anything, we felt a burden for asking for drinks and snacks like we shouldn’t!? All inclusive….. actually, what snacks… we spent far more on the site in the mini mart than anticipated purely because the food was so naff. Brekkie best meal of the day., all be it cold. Yes I was that parent that put leftovers in my bag for our son during the morning because the lack of snacks.. fruit in particular, allowed to or not I did. Non existent Wi-Fi, no reception for our television in our room even though we asked for it to looked at. No entertainment just techno style music every evening and a small disco for kids, 5 and under. Plastic cups served all day and night, even with all inclusive? And to have to PAY FOR COCKTAILS? And anything that wasn’t on the list basically. Had to pay extra for mini golf which we did for our son. Immediately irritated us. Staff feeding cats in the dining room behind curtains in napkins in view of guests?! WTAF! I wished I hadn’t of convinced my husband to go to Greece and just returned to turkey instead. Our son would of loved it there. The difference in hospitality is mad! We would have felt welcome and satisfied with our ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY! This place is also milesssss and I mean miles away from anything. bus to town which in fact we spent 4 days there to just get out of the dire park. Again we spent more on food because it wasn’t up to scratch and our son needed to eat more than boiled pasta… there must be an issue with theft here also as lots of people had lost iPhones and other things… make of that what you will.. And as sad as it sounds we spent the entire week counting down the days until we went home, which is no real pleasure for a holiday abroad. We were absolutely done! Reps also are a joke and overcharge massively, we cancelled our excursions because we found them cheaper in kos town. there’s plenty more to moan about with this hotel, but I won’t. JUST DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, ITS A DIVE AND DISGUSTING! it’s spoilt our impression of Greece which is a shame and we probably won’t return at all. The pictures on the website do not meet the expectations whatsoever!…
After reading all these negative reviews I was a bit in limbo. But when we get there the hotel was amazing. Our cleaner Anita was doing amazing job. Everything was nice and clean. Ladies from reception Maria and Katerina were very friendly and professional. To those who said the staff are "grumpy" well majority don't speak any English. They work about 70hrs a week . Of course they always won't smile if the tourist will complain and be rude!! I was an eye witness where just because the tourist had an all inclusive he thought he could abuse the staff by the bar. We personally had no issues with anyone. We smiled to everyone as knew they couldn't speak English and to those who could speak a little said hello. At the dinner service not many people said thank you to the staff. But they were ready to complain. The food was amazing. We and my son are very picky but never left hungry. There was always something. The place - mosquitos were not bad got bitten but not end of the world. All around you are trees of fruits , olives, herbs and much more so don't of course there will be bugs. Just buy a good repellent we had the jungle. We passed the mini zoo the smell you be smelled when you were actually near the animals. IMPROVEMENT - entertainment for adults. There was kids disco every night but nothing for adults. And as you are literally in middle of nowhere there is much to do. Definitely would go back had a lovely week . …
4 it is a lovely hotel on a beautiful beach . The staff are ok … not over friendly … the rooms are spotless. !! Not a bad size . The food is not brilliant but edible and plenty of it … while we we’re there a lot of mobile phones we’re going missing !!! My sister and a man on another table , saw an older thin waiter with a whiff pick it up .. my sister told the girl the waiter has it . She asked the waiter he denied seeing or having it ! But her and the other guest definitely knew he had it in his apron … The girls mum said very loudly so he could hear “ it’s ok il go get my phone ! It’s got find my device on it .” Within minutes the waiter disappeared and the phone was handed into reception !!! There were posters all over the place for missing iPhones !!! Lovely place … but don’t leave your iPhone unattended !!!…
Good: beach - large, sandy, with a pleasant entrance; territory - large, with a zoo, well-groomed, pleasant pools; cats roaming on their own. Not good: staff - not smiling and working under duress; cleaning - outside the rooms is absent, they generally send such a request by phone, in the rooms the dust on the tables and surfaces is not removed for days; the kitchen is not intricate, periodically tired (spoiled) dishes, the plates are now and then dirty inside and out; drinks: all sodas - bred Yuppi, coffee - only instant with instant milk, for lunch and that is absent, in the evening only in one place, near the store; Mosquitoes in the evening and ants around the clock; Lack of double beds - there are two beds in the family room, which are constantly moving in different directions; Finally, theft - Left the belt in the room. Sat in the lobby for about an hour waiting the bus. I remembered the belt and asked take me to the room. The cleaning lady had already taken the belt away. But no one could (or wanted to) find her. Although the bus bus was more than three hours away.…
One of the best hotels in kos! Plenty of choice for a place to relax as there’s 3 pools, the food was amazing and the staff were excellent! You can have a laugh with the reception staff, nothings too much for them. The chef was so friendly and he makes some of the best food we’ve had in kos. And the bar staff! Big shoutout to Ferat, he made the nights at the bar for us:) one of the friendliest places we’ve been ❤️ Thank you for an amazing holiday:)
We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. Our stay was enjoyable and for the price we paid we are happy with what we had. That being said I am aware we got a good deal and if we had paid more we would have been disappointed with the facilities and service. Here is our honest opinion. If your looking for a basic, quite, comfortable place to stay this is a good hotel for you. Our room was clean, comfortable and had air con, good shower, room cleaned daily and fresh towels everyday. No water, tea coffee facilities but there is a fridge if you want to keep water cool in your room. Room has a safe which we where not charged for during our stay. Restaurant is typical for an all inclusive- buffet style. Fair amount of choice of food daily if not a little reparative and at times bland. We found something everyday and I would say breakfast was the best meal of the day. This is fully self service, their are staff clearing up but they are not there for drinks etc Bar and pool bar serving drinks and limited snacks (sandwiches and muffins). Drinks are average and to be honest we did not like being served all drinks in cheap disposable plastic glasses. You only got glasses if you paid for premium drinks outside of the all inclusive offer Beach bar as stated at booking is at an extra charge - 8 euro for 4 beds, 1 euro for a soft drink, 2 for a beer. You get charged a small local tax on checkin and pay a deposit for pool towels of -10 euro per towel (returned on check out). We opted to pay for a late check out which made our last day more enjoyable at a cost of 55 euro What made this a 3 star for us after staying at numerous 4 and 5 star all inclusive a was the quality of the food and drinks and the lack of service. We did find ourselves going off to local restaurants (which there are few) to get a decent drink and some sense of atmosphere and a hot meal…
Really enjoyed our week at Gaia Royal. Staff were so nice; friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, so much choice even for a fussy vegetarian. Lovely site with 3 pools and right on the beach. Rooms were clean, spacious and cleaned with fresh towels every day. Not suitable for young “party animals” as bars/clubs too far away but for families or those wanting a quieter holiday it was perfect.
We are currently staying at the Gaia Royal and are really enjoying ourselves. There are some really horrible reviews on this hotel and to be honest we havent had a problem. All the staff are friendly, the hotel is spotlessly clean, pools clean and food really good. The only thing that could be improved on is the food being abit warmer but I guess that's very hard to do in such a big place. There is always a microwave if you like hot food. The deserts are fab.Enjoy your holiday
