Very cozy place, really a village of its Won. Plenty of space around the houses, well enough equipped from the inside. All in all a good reccomendation! Due to the distance to the next village Mastichari and its stand-alone character it is more suitable for families, couples or also training camps who are looking for less people around them.

The Small Village is an Apartment hotel offside from the touristic area and very close to the airport. Regularly departing aircraft can be heard. To reach the place or the beach from there, a car is required. The apartments are a bit rundown and an update of the premises would really upgrade the experience. WiFi was only available at the pool and bar area, with very little internet speed (<1 Mbps). No WiFi in the apartment. The cellular connection at the Small Village is as well very weak, which eliminates almost any internet possibility. The pool area was acceptable and as well as the pool bar, however featured an amazing sunset view. The apartments have a kitchen, bathroom, basic living room and a bedroom. The air-conditioning has been mounted on top of the bed which ensures a slightly unpleasant constant breeze at your head whilst in operation. The staff has been very friendly and was always interested in addressing every guest’s request. The experience staying at the Small Village has been, not good but okay. The charges for the days stayed is, however, certainly highly overpriced and should be half at maximum, even in high season. Value for money did heavily lower the herein given rating.

This hotel property provides everything you need on a Greek island. Surely you need a car to get around and it’s not located next to a hip beach. It’s a small hotel not one of the faceless all inclusive hotels where you are a number. Some people are bothered by the electricity plant in the vicinity, but at the end of the day nothing is perfect. So if you look for something authentic greek with magnificent views to the Aegean sea that’s the right choice. If you look for party than find yourself another place.

I've been the last two weeks of August at the resort with with my wide and two children and mini- apartments with all amenities. The village is quiet and silent all day and sleeping is excellent. Linen are changed every three days and cleaning everyday. Staff are polite and ready to help guests. The place is close to the airport but 30 minutes away from main locations so you need to rent a car and we did it from the hotel reception. Overall a nice and relaxing holiday and I suggest the resort as it provides a high quality at an affordable price.

Lovely hotel in a very beautiful location. Gardens and pools very clear. We enjoyed our time in the gym, reading in the library or simply having a drink by the pool listening to pleasant music. Breakfast was very nice with a lot of choices. The hotel staff made us feel like at home. They were so kind and helpful. We will come back again!

Taxi drivers hate the roads leading into Small Village, they aren't just pot holes they are crators!!!! This seriously needs addressed from the hotel and URGENTLY...take note Small Village. The staff were friendly, especially the hard-working French students, the pool and views pool were nice, the pool restaurant though you will find is way over priced for food and drinks.....the music play list is a lot to be desired with offensive music for younger kids!!!! The apartment was nice, BUT no hot water for a shower in the morning as the water is heated by solar panels.........although in the evening the water was hot enough for a shower. A massive disadvantage to Small Village is you need to get a taxi or hired car to go anywhere, even for a small supermarket. The shuttle bus provided was at 10am in the morning picking you up at 6pm......I think this should be widely increased by the owners to offer far more of a service. Don't get me wrong, the actual complex was nice despite being fairly close to the Power Station, I would go back but only if the above were addressed. Gordon Mitchell - Formerly Room 213

So the Taxi picked us up... said the Small village? really? okay! The village is around 4km from Mastichari, with the last 1km of (own) road so appallingly maintained the Taxi drove under 5kmh! First impressions...Nice staff, Nice pool, nice apartment, nice bed... BUT we had no 'resort' info, so for our short stay the loo bin although very full wasn't emptied! no hot water... not even tepid, no plug on the bath so was unusable! the menu was only around half available with the waiter saying its a daily special so not available (potato salad or pasta!) and is very over priced for the quality of food & size of portion. My 12e pizza was packet smoked turkey and a mushroom covered in cheese with a crust to hard to bite or cut! The pool was nice but the bar staff insisted on playing 'rap' which if you have kids they would learn 3 or 4 times a day about black chaps, nasty white women, hoes & 'mo gang steeling cash! (if you get my drift!).. note also when asking for coffee the staff couldn't understand what I asked for, or pointed too... and when the 3e coffee arrived it was nearly cold. The rooms are self catering but with no shop on site you'll need a car to use the facilities, intact you'll need a car to do anything! You can't use the beach as its about 1km away, on a dust track and down a cliff... with no path!.... although nice it has no facilities on it and is next to Kos power station... which is also SO loud, even from the rooms it sounds like you are stood next to your plane on take off.... which your room is also under (the flight path)... so little sleep. Note that the Taxi also doesn't want to pick up fares from the village.... its the roads again!

Me and my mum resided in this beautiful village for 6 days. The apartments are all very well equipped (while some of them are a little outdated). The view is literally stunning and therefore I would really recommend having dinner at the hotel restaurant during sunset; the view will amaze you. Also, the food here (breakfast and dinner) is pretty good. The staff is amazing: they will do anything (literally anything) to make your stay as comfortable as possible and they are all very kind. The only disadvantage is that the nearest town isn’t walkable nor easily accessible by bike, so you have to rely on the free shuttle (10 o’clock each morning) to get to Mastichari. Also, the “beach” in the description on their website isn’t really what you would expect. There is no bar/ sunbeds. To get to a real beach you have to go to Mastichari which is a 10 minute drive. In short, I would really recommend “The Small Village” but if you like to visit other places or whatsoever, I would strongly recommend you to rent a car/quad.

Me and my husband stayed at the small village in June. What we wanted was complete peace and relaxation and we got it. We stayed in a garden view apartment...it was much bigger than expected. It was very simply furnished but had everything you would need and importantly it was extremely clean. With a cleaner coming in every day to tidy up,give us fresh towels and she even washed and put our dishes away! The restaurant was lovely..the food we ate there was delicious. The pool is amazing and like other reviews- plenty of sunbed space. The service was very friendly and attentive. The staff helped us however they could. The shuttle to mastercheri provided by them was ideal. And the town itself has an abundance of restaurants and the beach is very lovely. Prices were very reasonable. My only concerns (And they are small) are the tv in the rooms could either do with freeview or a DVD player as all channels are in Greek. The restaurant food whilst it was lovely could do with more touristy meal options..and more of a snack option at the pool bar and perhaps non alcoholic cocktails and ice lollies? They would ve made a lot of money from us if this was the case :) besides these points this was the best holiday we have had and we thoroughly enjoyed it. So thank you all who work at the small village!

I can't speak highly enough for the small village, we were here last September and booked up almost straight away on our return. This visit lived up to all expectations, lovely accommodation, friendly helpfull staff that make you feel like one of the family, quiet relaxing atmosphere, looks like we're gonna have to book up again! Don't let the 3* rating put you off, it's certainly 5* treatment. Highly recommended.
