Nice place to stay, good room size and features. Bed could be more sturdier as one broke over our time here. If you plan to use this as a base, then look else where.. we didn’t do the bbq or have been down for many drinks in the bar and we don’t get even a hello anymore, just get looked up and down when we go past.. But other tat that a good hotel and close to the main town centre and big supermarkets

As a family of 11, we stayed for 2 weeks and found the hotel really nice and friendly. Can't believe it's listed only as 2 star as it is a very clean modern hotel - one of the best studio apartments we have stayed at in Greece. Elena the cleaner is lovely and provided us with a toaster for our stay. The BBQ was good with some greek dancing, they do like you to be involved so be warned if its not your cup of tea. We would have a few drinks in the evening and I can highly recommend the cranberry cooler. My other half loved the hibiscus flowers. Shame there is no pool but some of our party used the Luis Pool and the Half Way pool which was closer to the hotel. neither pool is far from the hotel. Myself and my partner went to the beach every day which is about 10 min walk - perfectly easy walk if you are of good mobility. However, my father in law is not so good on his feet and the walk back is uphill so he did struggle a bit. Light Blue Restaurant (nice food) was great as the owner George drove him home after eating there. And also Top Gear motorcycle hire, we hired a moped for a couple of days and they also drove my father in law back to the apartment on occasion. Mastichari beach is nice and not very busy at all. We used the sunbeds at Akrogiali and Saloon bar which were free if you ate at them. We didn't use our hotel sunbeds which were 6 euros. We did the 3 island boat trip and my advice is don't bother. I felt like we were just tourist cattle. you are dumped at Kalymnos for an hour and then Pserimos - nothing at this island. the best bit was swimming off Plati. the boat bbq was poor. All in all, Mastichari is a nice low key resort. the trips aren't brilliant so are you best off hiring a car and doing your own exploring. Big thanks to Pepe, Costa, Festina and Elena for making our stay so enjoyable.

We have just returned from a 2 weeks holiday at the the Christina apartments, location excellent also the apartments were spotless. We have been coming to Greece for 20 years stopping at different places, so we only really use the apts as a base, we did find these apartments very clicky as there are people who go year after year which is fine, On our arrival we were met by Pepe and the cleaner, lovely apartment we could not fault. Pepe was very friendly but as our holiday progressed and didn't spend much time at the apartments he became less friendly as we didn't attend bbq or use his sunbeds and maybe only had a couple of drinks. We did find this very uncomfortable on returning when been put, so as I say if you only want to use has a base would consider booking elsewhere.

One of the best places we have stayed in Greece. Very tidy and clean slot of work made on the gardens and it looks like a little oasis. I would recommend here very quiet but only a 5 min walk to all amenities.

Great little place, rooms are fine, storage is good, standard kitchen like everywhere else in Greece and its islands. New modern bathrooms. Staff are keen to help and sociable. The whole site is very clean and tidy. Breakfast were satisfactory with a reasonable choice. Gardens and area are well kept. Bar prices at the Christina are a standard for the whole village. The BBQ night is a nice affair and the food served is very good, do attend it is worth it. Potential issue: Walking along the unkempt street/track towards the main road could be problematic for people with walking issues especially at night as it is very dark as there are no street lights. Most people have phones nowadays, so use of your phones torch maybe necessary. Take a torch if you don't have a phone Would i stay again? Well yes. It's only a five to ten minute walk to the village or the beach. Which is why the resort attracts an older clientèle. Mastichari is low key, it has a few late bars, but it is steady and relaxing. The ferry is the cheapest way to travel to Kalymnos at 6 euro per person each way. Word of warning though, the majority of Kalymnos closes down for the afternoon leaving it a bit like a ghost town. So don't catch the 14.15 ferry if you want to do a bit of shopping. The last one back leaves at 17.00. Other trips on different boats are available at a shop in the village. The beach is lovely, the waters clear, with a bit of seaweed, but it can get windy, so bathers beware.
