We stayed at euro village from 25th July to 4th august. Here are some good and bad points from our holiday. Good- Superior rooms were pretty decent Beds were comfortable. Swimming pool was massive, never had an issue with space. it’s a fresh water pool fyi. Beach was lovely - yes there are parts that are rocky and stoney but there is also nice areas with sun loungers - FYI to hire beach sun loungers you have to go to reception for a ticket . It’s €3.50 each. The area by the sun loungers does accumulate sea weed but apart from that it’s lovely and is quite warm. We noted the Eco friendly initiatives that are in place for example the pool bar cups are reusable rather than being disposable plastic. Lots of recycling bins around the resort. We were Deliberately given just the one key so you can’t leave the aircon on . (You can ask for another key ) The gyros at the pool bar were the nicest food they served in the whole hotel!! The bar cocktails were decent. The games room was ok - 2 pool tables (€2) and a ping pong table(free) with a couple of other paid for small games. Bad -The food was terrible. Not enough choice and not enough variety. All the food was pretty bland and very samey samey. Probably the worst we’ve had at an all inclusive, no variety. We chose to eat out a couple of times to experience new flavours. -The queue at the pool bar for snack food was always long and took ages. They only have 1 guy doing it… -The pool toilets are a constant hazard. No form of matting to soak up water so dangerously slippery. -Our en-suite randomly flooded when in the shower and other members of our party who stayed in 2 separate rooms had the water suddenly stop on them while in the shower multiple times and it didn’t come back on for a while each time -The soft drinks ie fizzy drinks weren’t from the main brands such as Coca Cola or Pepsi. It was a knock of version which wasn’t quite as nice but drinkable. -The pool bar help your self soft drink machine kept running out of fizz and at various times we had flat drinks, this was disappointing as it happened quite often. -Lack of sun beds. To even get a chance of a sun bed at this time of year you’ll need to be up at 6/7am and put your towels down, not something we’ve ever done before as we feel it’s very cheeky but it got ridiculous not being able to enjoy the facilities so we’re forced to join in. -Most often than not we had to ask for knives and forks as the staff hadn’t cleaned tables/ replaced cutlery. -There were a lot of times when there were no cups by the help yourself drink machines. -Wi-Fi is not great. Overall we did have a lovely holiday with my family and couldn’t fault the pool, location and the well kept grounds but there is no way this is a 4*hotel resort. We would absolutely not recommend holidaying here and would not return.…
We spent a week last July, booking three rooms at a cost of 160 € per day, so not a low rate. Our expectations were in line with how much we were spending but unfortunately it didn't happen that way. the rooms had been renovated, but the cleanliness was poor: at the doors and in parts of the walls of the room and bathroom there were insects killed and never removed! in the following days the daily cleaning was never performed. I requested to have a daily cleaning service , but, although I had a polite discussion with the general manager who assured me that he would have checked directly, I can only say that the room has never cleaned . About the breakfast room, this was terribly disorganized , even here ,the level of cleanliness of dishes and glasses was low . At the end of holidays, Kos is a beautiful island , but it's better to book somewhere else. Bernardo - room 828…
I spent one week there at the end of July with a fare per day of 165€!!!! The room was cleaned at the third day, despite the claims made to the general manager. The hotel Is at least 2 star as level Giuseppe, room 827
I wish I could give less than one star. I have rarely been so disappointed in a hotel in my life. It's just horrible, I would never advise anyone to stay here. It's our second day here and I'm desperately looking to go back home, because we are just paying to be miserable here. Check-in is at 3pm and we had a 5:50am flight so we had to wait hours in the reception. No fault here yet, but with a baby we asked to have at least 1 hour early check-in for one of the 4 rooms we booked. They said that would be possible but we ended up checking in at 2:45pm, only to find that the room that had taken so long to be cleaned was incredibly dirty (as were the 3 others). Baby is crawling so we had no other choice but leave him on the floor and he got covered in dirt in less than 30 mins. We even found nails on the floor! The bath was dirty too, the mirror had marks all over. Also registering ourselves at reception took us an eternity, you have to fill all details of each person yourself through an iPad application, and there are 12 of us so it took ages, especially since the reception lady struggled to find our names all the time. They told us our rooms would be walk in to the beach, and that they would be next to each other; neither of this was the case. Also despite booking with a baby they gave us a room on the first floor with only stairs to access it so it is a huge inconvenience since we need to carry the stroller up and down all the time. The meals are boring and tasteless, not many vegetarian options. Fruit juices are a huge disappointment too since it's only sugar and water, disgusting! There is a game room that seems to be never cleaned, with many games that are out of order. And finally the pool area is disgusting: the water, the pools and the sunbeds also seem like they have been never cleaned, sunbeds have brown marks all over. The only plus side is the animation team, and the staff is quite nice (but there probably needs much more people to really maintain this hotel) but other than that it just seems like an abandoned hotel. I am beyond disappointed.…
Totally unacceptable to get up at 6am to make sure you get a sun bed whilst on holiday or get ripped off at beach. Food very poor quality Service at reception hopeless- no towels for days! When you arrive at midnight reception staff tell you to say thank you for a gift of an apple and sandwich- I'd paid for a meal!!! Get a kettle and cups in your room but no tea, coffee or milk lol 😆 Staff are really nice and do there best but management need to address problems
As previous reviewers said, this should not be a 4-star hotel, it does not live up to this whatsoever. 3 stars maximum. Our room was fine, I think it was one of the recently renovated ones, it’s big, but the furniture style is outdated, so it doesn’t look too chic. The bedding and the towels are very old and gray, the towels should have been discarded long ago. The mattresses were OK, but the pillows very hard and lumpy. We didn’t have ants, but there was an earwig in our room, which unfortunately we didn’t catch. From what I saw, the ants gather around left used glasses and garbage outside of the rooms. The maid came every other day, but they just changed the bedding, didn’t clean anything. The water in the shower was salty. And multiple times during our stay there was not water at all, the staff said “municipality cut it off”, not sure why and what this means. But it did come back in 10-15 mins. We stayed there for a week, and the food was the same every single day. The only thing that changed was stuff at the grill, which was the most eatable out of everything else. If you are particular about quality of the products, this is not a place for you, it looked like the cheapest produce was used and it definitely wasn’t cooked with any enthusiasm or inspiration. The dining hall feels like a school canteen, very noisy, flies flying around, dirty dishes and glasses. It’s crowded most of the time, but I think it’s not because there are so many people, but mainly because all the food is huddled together, if there was more space in between, people wouldn’t bump into each other all the time. There weren’t many Greek dishes, save for wine cheese, tahini, Greek salad, and an occasional gyros. This is a pity, since Greek cuisine is great, and I believe many people would appreciate more choice. The grounds are huge and mostly well kept. Didn’t use the pool but it looked pretty big and nice. Wi-Fi is available only in the lobby, this was not a problem for us, but if you need it all the time, please keep in mind. During our stay it was very windy and it was almost impossible to swim on the hotel beach. I’m not sure if it’s like that all the time, but since Kos is a pretty windy island overall, my guess is that it happens often. We walked to Mastihari town beach (about 15 minutes down a promenade), it was better Overall, it does have a lot of potential, the location is nice, the rooms are big, but attention to detail, cleaner rooms and dishes, and better quality client service would make a difference.…
Visited this hotel between 19th July and 23 July 2022. We stayed in the windmill house which was fantastic, very clean and comfortable for 2 people. The rest of our party stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment that the drain blocked twice when using the shower which was over the bath The reception, main bar are all spotless. The child's pool and main pool were excellent. There is a small bar that opens at 10am and closes at 11pm. All sunbeds are taken by 7am, which we found out that in order to have a bed you had to book at reception. The food in the restaurant was poor to OK with feal and duck served every night. We also found that the food was lying open and the flies going on everything. The moussaka if that is what you would have called, had a scraping of meat but mostly potato. This village is 35€ one way in a taxi to Kos Town centre. You had to book by bus the day before if you wanted to go into the town, but the person that took the bookings was not always there, so your stuck and have to get a taxi. There is no ATM machine or I telnet cafe so if you need money or print anything out you are stuck. There were 6 of us o this trip which meant we had to get 2 taxis at a time. A good thing about it is your very handy to the Airport. It seems to be child friendly, however there are no life guards at the pool. Would we stay here again, sorry that's a no.…
Beautiful apartments, great village and nice stuff, the only weak point is the food, almost everyday the same food with same taste.. The best thing is the entertainment team, a lot of sports and events everyday. The whole team is really really nice and funny! They make the experience unforgetable!
My experience was good. The entertainement team made it very fun. Disco was great and also mini disco. The bike tour was acceptable for that kind of price. The food was also good. Beach is located quite close, there is much sand than stones. I can recommend it.
The EuroVillage Achileas Hotel has seen better days. While the grounds are kept fairly clean, the site is in need of some TLC. Its one saving grace is the beach at the front of the hotel, which is kept clean by one attendant. He’ll charge you €3.50 for a sunbed but there are plenty available, unlike the free ones around the hotel’s pool area, which are all reserved by 7am. The hotel claims to be 4-star but, in reality, it’s more like 2-star UK standards. The room we stayed in hadn’t been cleaned properly for some time. There was chewing gum stuck to one of the bedside cabinets and debris under the beds. The bath was as dirty when we arrived as when we left with a tap fitting coming away from the wall and no bath plug until we asked for one (which didn’t it when it arrived). Dead mosquitos littered the window frame. There are just too many rooms for the amount of housekeeping staff they employ. We were there for 10 days and the room was cleaned twice in that time, despite repeated requests at reception. Dirty towels were left unchanged. The air conditioning across the site is very poor and it’s too warm to sit in reception or the main bar area to cool off from the fierce sun outside. The room A/C was just about tolerable at night but, as electricity to the room is cut off when the old-style key fob is removed from the wall, is stifling upon return. There’s no wi-fi except for “superior” rooms and no USB sockets, so take your own adaptor. The TV is basic and the only English language channel is CNN. There are no in-room tea and coffee facilities. EuroVillage Achileas Hotel caters mainly for all-inclusive guests, particularly the German and Eastern European market. If you’re on half-board, you pay for everything other than breakfast and evening meal. The cost of alcohol is about average. There are two restaurants, the main one and a themed one; however, the food in both is really poor and unimaginative. While there’s an extensive salad buffet, the hot offering would put a school dinner lady to shame – it seems to consist of either chicken, pork or fish lumps in a variety of watery sauces. No local dishes and the cooks’ (not chefs’) attempt at international cuisine is laughable. No a-la-carte menu. But the restaurants are kept impeccably clean by the hard-working waiting staff. The local tavernas offer a far superior range of food if you can get to them. And lastly, the entertainment. If you like karaoke, bingo, or low-key discos, you’ll be happy. A very small ents team try their best but most guests when we stayed just wouldn’t engage, with the exception of very small children who get to bop around for an hour each night to the same pre-recorded action songs. Cute but, again, hardly entertaining for anyone over the age of 15. EuroVillage Achileas Hotel doesn’t do itself or its guests any favours and some serious investment is require now that we’re coming out of the shadow of COVID.…
