Nestled in a scenic and tranquil setting, Kouros Palace garners appreciation from guests seeking relaxation amidst picturesque views, although its somewhat remote location has been flagged by a few. While the hotel's lively atmosphere with entertainment options like live music and dances is a draw for many, some visitors feel the rooms and decor could benefit from an update. The staff is often lauded for their kindness and helpfulness, yet inconsistencies in service, room cleanliness, and maintenance have been pointed out, casting doubt on the hotel's purported 5-star status and overall value.

We had an amazing week at Kouros Palace. a 5 minute walk to the beach where there were plenty of sunbeds and a bar service. There is a bar food station there too for snacks and lunch. There's a little supermarket over the road, handy for bottle water and anything you've forgotten to pack, really reasonable prices, we bought a lot of our gifts there as they were cheaper than Kos town or Kefalos. A 20 minute stroll, mostly along the beach takes you to Mastichari where you can book trips and rent cars with the fabulous Helios Tours, a very personal family business who will look after you and has reasonable rates. Bar tenders were happy to fill your own bottles and the fizzy drink machines also have water in them. Room was lovely with plenty of light and mosquito screens for the windows and doors. There are 3 separate bars and drinks machines in the buffet, we didn't try a la carte as we didn't want to book but the food in the buffet was plentiful with lots of choice and always traditional Greek options. Rooms are only cleaned every other day and you only get one lot of beach towels but we weren't too bothered about that. There is plenty of space to hang and put away clothes, plus plenty of hangers. There were 2 big fresh water pools and a children's paddling type pool with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. We hired a car from the guy across the road and it was a bit of a shed with the engine warning light on so wouldn't recommend using him, we had been going to visit Zia but decided against it as the car didn't feel reliable, it looked like it was on it's last legs and was filthy and had bits hanging off it. We only took it because we were too late to go anywhere else! We arrived at the hotel after midnight and they offered to prepare us food and gat us drinks at the bar, which we thought was lovely. but we just wanted to head to bed. There is entertainment each night but usually starting at 9pm and we're early rises so we didn't go along so I can't comment on the content. All the rooms had balconies with a table and chairs and a pull out airer to dry off your costumes, towels, etc. There are quite a few cats but they all look really well looked after and they don't bother you if you're not a cat person. On our final day we were allowed to keep our bands and still had full use of the facilities, dining and drinks which was brilliant as our transfer didn't come for us until 9.15pm. There's a luggage room to leave your cases and check out is 11am so plenty of time for breakfast and packing. I would recommend this hotel, we had a fabulous time and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The proximity of the hotel to the airport is great - even if you hear and see the departing planes every day, as these planes fly over the hotel complex.
Unfortunately, the effects of Covid 19/Corona have not left Kos unscathed, as this 5* hotel also lacks staff.
The individual rooms (203) are quite decent in size and there is enough storage space, but only one chair and unfortunately there is also no place to hang up everyday items.
The cleanliness of the rooms and the bathroom was good and the linen change was proper. You should collect toilet paper in a separate garbage can in the bathroom, but in our opinion this seems questionable when it is cleaned every 2 days and also smells.
The hotel complex is well maintained and the two outdoor pools invite you to swim and linger. The children's pools (40cm and 50cm) are relatively small and do not have any stairs to get in.
The loungers (a bit old) are available in sufficient numbers and you don't actually need to reserve.
The beach area is unfortunately about 400m from the main building and most of the accommodations, but you can be driven there with Aron or Ahmad (great service) and picked up again later. There are also enough loungers on the beach and the beach is cleaned daily. The service at the beach bar (Toni) is top-notch, as he always walks between the beach and the beach bar and brings guests cold or warm drinks.
The daytime entertainment program is not that big due to a lack of staff and the evening program unfortunately repeats itself every week.
The pool bar is quite well stocked - even if you have to pay extra for some drinks, there are all kinds of good drinks.
Unfortunately you have to get the drinks yourself - but the staff clear them away. Here too, everyone is very friendly.
The restaurant does not offer any unusual specialties or show cooking, but you can always find something to eat and you will be full. Unfortunately, there is often no soup bowl available for the soups on offer, which is of course annoying. The drinks in the restaurant are decent and all available. Sometimes you just have to ask if there are any more food or drinks, as there aren't enough staff everywhere.
One of the two coffee machines breaks down in the morning, but a solution is quickly found.
Unfortunately, as in almost all southern countries, the food is only lukewarm and if you have to wait a while, it's almost cold - a shame!!
Complaints are dealt with very well and quickly thanks to the guest service representative Stella, who takes care of all the guests' problems and provides immediate assistance.
The A La Carte restaurant is nice, but the food is the same as in the restaurant, except that you are served and have to pay for drinks.
On the whole, we liked it here at the Kouros Palace Hotel, even if we don't think it's a 5* category.

My partner and I have just returned from an 11 night holiday at the Kouros palace.
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and are kept spotless along with the pool areas with plenty of sunbeds. There is also a wonderful sea view surrounding the hotel. A short walk away the hotel has its own private beach with plenty of beds and parasols, there is also a beach bar
which serves a light lunch if you don't want to to have dinner back at the hotel. The evening entertainment is good. The daily entertainment is good especially the aqua aerobics in the pool, the guy who does this is absolutely fantastic. As the complex is large they have a golf buggy which you can flag down or ring reception for a lift, this is driven by Aaron, what a character this young man is, always has a smile for everyone and is such an asset to the hotel.
The down side to the hotel is the house keeping of the rooms, for a 5 star i would have expected daily cleaning especially when you cannot flush paper in the toilet. Having to ask reception for toilet paper is not good.
This hotel is very remote, it takes 45 minutes to walk into the nearest village which is not a pleasant walk. You can take a taxi.
The food in the restaurant was often cold and this needs addressing.

We did enjoy our holiday and thought it was good value for money.

This hotel is not 5* and I don’t think it is 4* either, in my opinion I think the hotel is a good 3* at most.

The reason for this follows, positives for the hotel are that the transfer from the airport is about 15 minutes so no sat on an old coach for hours, the sunsets here are fantastic and the staff are very nice and pleasant. You are delivered to your room via a buggy system which is a little different, and all inclusive was fine with some cocktails included with average beer and wine without limits, well at least until 11pm where it stops, and you must pay. The food is good with fresh fruit and salad in abundance, the cooked food was nice although the fish all tasted the same, but pizza, burgers, kebabs and other cooked food were very tasty. The à la carte restaurant was free and you just paid for your drinks, that said neither of us liked the food as it was over seasoned and the same as the main restaurant.

The hotel is very tired and needs a lot of updates and cleaning to improve the star rating, the cleaning standards are low, the bath was very dirty with mould to the edges rubbish under the bed. The towels are changed every two days and beach towels once a week not daily as other places. The pool is nice but the area around the pool is dirty and very slippy where the slime / moss is, I witnessed a couple of people slip quite badly not safe at all. Sunbeds are grubby and are in desperate need of a clean. There is a supermarket opposite that is well priced for water and snacks as well as other stuff, there is also car and bike hire but I never used so cannot comment on how good they were. We used the coach that could be caught from directly outside the hotel for 10 euros each return to Kos town. Nowhere close enough to walk so taxis would be needed.

The beech is a short walk but was disappointed when I reached it as there was piles of seaweed on the beach as well as broken sunbeds and parasols with other allotted rubbish piles at the back of the beach in a kind of cove area. The hotel does suffer from constant plane noise as it is on the flight path, that said you do get used to the noise, the other complaint is the constant fuel tankers that rumble past the hotel to what I think is a nearby port transporting fuel I presume to the airport, these are as often as the planes so be careful crossing the road to the beach.

I hope this helps with your selection; I am not completely disappointed but will not stay here again.

We have just come back from a 10 night stay here and this is what we thought!

Food is fairly basic, Breakfast was probably the best as there was lots of choice, pancakes, eggs, breads, continental selection of meat and cheeses, yogurts, cereals etc but the lunch and dinner options were a bit hit and miss. Always a good choice of fresh salads and fruit but the main dishes can be a bit random. The cooked vegetables/potatoes didn't always seem fresh and the main dishes were either really bland or over seasoned - nothing in between. We always found something to eat, and some of the days it was really good, some of them a bit meh.. also they rotate the menu so if you are there for two weeks, expect the same menu in week 2 of your stay. All inclusive drinks, again were either really weak or too strong and the cocktails were made with cheap mixers so never tasted that good! AI drinks stop after 11pm so you have to pay after that and the bar stays open till 1am. Evening entertainment again ok, but not ever giving the wow factor!
Rooms were outdated, beds not very comfortable and only cleaned every other day! which is ok, but even then I wouldn't say they did a good job. Beach towels are provided but they encourage you keep them for the entire of your stay, you can request they change them though, which we didn't know until our last day! Bed linen and towels were threadbare and some heavily stained with what I hope was fake tan!!
The pool area is fairy clean, and we never struggled to get a sunbed, and the "top" pool was really quiet until after lunch. The beach is a short walk but totally doable, but again the beach was always crowded and somedays no beds. Beach is not very clean either, lots of rubbish around and not cleaned up.
The staff do work hard there and were always friendly and helpful, but somedays they did seem short staffed. Day entertainment again very repetitive, but the team do work hard to make it fun.
The hotel is down a long track road, which makes it nice and quiet for families with young children or older adults, but maybe a bit too out of the way if you want to venture into a town to find some where else to eat. Taxi into and back from Mastichari will set you back about 25euro and its only about 2 miles away but not safe roads to walk especially in the dark! There are free buses from the hotel and you can get a bus into Kos town which is about 30 min bus ride.
Overall, we had a good holiday, and we made the most of what we had, good weather and met some great people but this is not a 5 star hotel!! I would rate it 3+ star at the best. Tui miss sell this hotel so be aware - you won't see a Tui rep for the entire of your stay so you can't even speak to someone!!

We booked a 5* holiday through TUI and we were dissatisfied with some aspects of the hotel and wouldn’t return.

Pros
- enjoyed the food, lots of variety and most dishes were very tasty.
- entertainment for adults during the day and night was good. They did a talk on Kos which was interesting and they did yoga and aqua Zumba.
- nice complex for sunbathing, nice views.
- they have a private beach area which has its own bar you can get gyros, snacks and drinks.
- The island itself is lovely and cheap to rent a car, buggy, quad bike to explore the island (would recommend)
- shop opposite hotel is reasonably priced and staff lovely.
-weather perfect, lovely and hot.

Cons
- The room was very dated, grubby, felt unclean, basic appliances, mould around the shower, toilet looked like it needed a good scrub.
- drinks very poor for an all inclusive, cocktails undrinkable, beer of poor quality and tasted tainted, spent most of the holiday drinking soda water as even the soft drinks tasted flat and of poor quality.
- They charge all inclusive guests for drinks after 11pm which we felt was unfair. We would understand if they shut the bar at that time but to still be serving but charging people is just money a making scheme and it’s just not good customer service.
- children’s sized cups for drinks, very small, just unnecessary, just use standard sized cups so people don’t have to replenish after every mouthful.
- (not the fault of the hotel but good to know if you have allergies or phobias)- they have the largest hornets down by the beach bar that bother you whilst you are trying to eat and drink.
- not enough sunbeds if you did not reserve around 7:30-8.

Overall we enjoyed the stay but if I was to return I would book a different hotel.

Decided we needed an inexpensive 7 night getaway just to relax. The hotel met with our budget & lived up to expectations. We were pleasantly surprised to be offered a free room upgrade at check in to a ‘superior sea view’ room (circumstances unknown?) as we had originally only paid for an upgraded sea view room. We didn’t object & despite the room being up hill from the main hotel facility however it didn’t disappoint with stunning sea views from its first floor location.
Our experience was made better from the help of some key staff - Aaron who had the most enthusiastic personality & always found time to give us a lift to the beach, collect our cases etc etc. He is a valuable asset to the hotel & nothing was too much trouble. A mention of thanks must also be given to Alex who transported us and our cases to our room on arrival & offered the warmest reception & advice for the coming week. We also had assistance from the hotel guest relations person who sorted very efficiently, an issue with shower/changing facilities ahead of our return transfer. Finally a special thank you to a female member of staff working at the pool bar, each day she worked single handily until 6 pm and always pleasant. Our apologies for not recalling her name but hopefully the hotel management will recognise who this person is.

- With it being a 5 star you have to pay 10 euros a night tax, this might be why it’s labelled a 5 star.
- Room was outdated, with the white spot lights it makes it very clinical.
- The smell of sewage coming from the bathroom fills the accommodation with a bad odour.
- When we got there the shower head was in the bath, we had to ask for the attachment to be fixed.
- In the bedroom there’s a red light which is overpowering at night, see picture.
- When we got there two single beds were set up and it was like this for 3 days before cleaners decided to put the sheets together.
- You only get given one pillow each and the first 2 nights neither of ours had pillow cases on. No duvets just a sheet.
- It’s meant to be an all inclusive but you have to pay for bottles of water and any drinks after 11pm.
- The guy at the top pool bar we found rude, we asked him to fill our water bottles up but he only wanted liquids in the paper cups.
- A lot of the sunbeds are filthy.
- You have to ask to have your rooms cleaned on the day, otherwise they’re done every other day.
- You have to pay for any drinks at the Al a Carte restaurant.
- In the 7 days we didn’t see the pools getting cleaned. Lacking staff.
- In the evening without fail you have to queue for drinks. Again lacking staff.
- Never before have I had to get my own drink at lunch and dinner.
- It’s lacking food choice, only really one meat option each meal.
- The ground from the hotel to the beach, looks very untouched and not maintained.
- Although dressing gowns are supplied, they looked very over worn, see picture.
- The shower curtain had a hole in and not long enough so water still went everywhere. For a 5 star this should be a shower screen instead.

absolutely lovely hotel. i stayed here with my family for a week and couldn’t recommend more to anyone who’s looking for a holiday! the hotel is only a 11 minute drive from the airport so anyone who hates travelling far this is perfect for them. the entertainment every night was fantastic. i’ve seen allot of reviews saying the rooms aren’t clean but our rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh bedding and the cleaners were lovely was able to leave my things in my room and come back to them without them being taken. the pools are lovely but not enough chairs for everyone. the pool bar food was alright. food such as pizzas rolls and wraps. however the portion sizes were very small and there wasn’t allot of variety for people. the meals were alright 3 courses a day but yet again not allot of variety for people especially picky eaters however the cooks were lovely . there were activity’s to do during the day such as water activity’s and the entertainers brang allot of joy and energy to anyone who they met. there is also a kids club for the little ones. the hotel is only a 25 min bus ride to kos (the town) for €30 for the bus trip i would definitely recommend and allot to do and see there. there is also the lildo waterpark. there is a free bus for it and i would recommend as it’s something to do if you are someone who likes to do something. there is also a go kart track not far from the hotel. there is a private beach in the hotel which is never overcrowded and is lovely. the beach bar does some of the same food as the pool bar. all the staff were welcoming and lovely from start to finish. A big praise to Aaron for being a funny and kind person. from giving people lifts anywhere on his go kart to bringing joy to peoples day. he is friendly and always says hello to anyone he sees and is a very lovely member of staff. also a big thanks to one of the mangers Tiffany who was absolutely lovely to us and drove my mum and dad to the village when the busses weren’t running on a Sunday she is amazing. and all the other members of staff were so kind especially the pool bar girls always having a smile on their faces! there is a shop right opposite the hotel which is good for snacks or gifts. there is also a rent a car shop next to it where you can rent cars and bikes etc. the air conditioning in the room was lovely especially on the hot nights and kept us cool.

overall i would definitely recommend staying here as it was a lovely hotel and would definitely come back again!

Very good experience in Kos at Kouros palace! The staff are very welcoming, the rooms are clean and the breakfast has several choices.
We stayed in a room with private pool with breakfast package. All the staff are smiling and very kind, a huge thank you to Aaron who received us with a positive attitude, always there to help and wants everyone to enjoy the stay and feel good 😊 he is really a lovely person. Breakfast has several choices and you can eat as much as you want! . The location is a little out of the way so either you take a taxi from the airport (15 mins with around twenty euros) or you take the bus to Masticari (2€50) and then you walk 40 mins.. But the hotel has a small private beach 500 m away (if you like to sunbathe and have a parasol then come either very early or at the end of the day) next to it they have a bar restaurant.
The hotel is clean, it offers at least 6 activities every day except Friday (rest day) every evening there are small activities, it also has some for children so family friendly too. The rooms are clean, the beds a little hard as well as the pillows, the towels may have stains but it shows that they are clean (we had air conditioning and a fridge) opposite the hotel you have a mini market so very practical and enough to rent a motorbike, car and excursions. The hotel has a roortop but we did not appreciate the drinks prepared... it's up to you to make up your mind... for us, the bartender did not know how to make the drinks and he did not have the ingredients either ...
Not far from the hotel there is a very pretty and picturesque restaurant, lovely bar, a must-do (10 minutes from the hotel)
There are airlines that pass through there so yes, we hear them, not all the time but we hear them.
This is a very good choice, we will definitely return and we highly recommend this hotel!
