Troulis Apartments is located on the Island of Crete, at the traditional fish village of Bali. This beautiful village lies on the northern coast of the island, ideally situated only 27 km from the city of Rethymnon and 47km from the city of Heraklion. It has a small picturesque harbor and lots of small coves with wonderful clear sandy beaches. Recent years Bali has been developed to a popular tourist resort but it is still preserves its traditional character. Ideal place for family holidays, with lovely taverns serving fresh fish and local specialties, sea view bars, souvenir shops, mini markets, cafeterias and nice path walks parallel to the beach.

This hotel used to be a standard 3* hotel, but does not have the personelle to mentain it. So it is deteriorating. Examples: When starting the kitchen extractor hood, it collapsed onto my pots on the stoove. The door of the (parents) bed room were not closable, as it was blocked by the beds (the room was tiny). The billiards table is broken, but the hotel has apparently no intentiaon to fix it. Many room items were missing and I had to request them piece by piece (TV control, enough chairs, kitchen items). Most of the guests are Russians (booked via travel agencies) and they are favored over individual guests. Hence we were move to an alternative hotel for the first night, as a Russian group had a delayed flight. WLAN works only close to pool + receiption, but signal is too weak in most of the rooms. The rooms and the pool water are not very clean. The breakfast buffet will fill you, but the quality is mediocre (the provided sausages were really bad). Other 3* hotels in Bali offer much better breakfasts. Our room was labeled as "sea view", but we mostly looked into a naked wall. Only a tiny corner of the sea was visible.

Very nice and calm hotel, friendly personnel. Four sands, best is "Last beach" - perfect for under water scuba diving. Slow free WiFi internet connection.

I and my husband spent vacation (2 weeks) at this hotel. Hotel as almost all hotels in Bali is situated on the hill closely near see. We just needed to come dawn to the beach. Beach was situated between 2 rocks. Very nice landscape! We had a nice room with nice see view. Administrator and all other personal were very friendly. Room was cleaned everyday except Sunday. Towels were changed every 3 days. Every day we had different dishes for dinners (all 14 days!), always we had something with see food. All food was very tasty.

We stayed in this lovely hotel in the last night of our trip and we were really sorry we coudn't stay more. The rooms are spacious and equiped with the best view ever to the sea and the mountains (You should request a room in the first line in front of the sea).

We stayed at this lovely little hotel in July 2007, having booked lat minute through teletext - and it was perfect! 50 metres up the hill from the beach, which was quiet, super sandy, with lovely bars and incredibly friendly staff. Lovely gentle water that is great for snorkling. The hotel was great - the rooms were a little small, though having paid less than £300 B+B with transfers we didn't expect too much. But with a beautiful view of the harbour and the hills, air conditioning and daily cleaning there are no other faults. A short walk round to the neighboring harbour reveals more tastey restaurants, local and european food (our next meal was actually wondering around the tables going baa - baa!!!) which was all fresh and not very expensive. Every meal comes complete with an ouzo starter and a raki dessert! Highly recommend the sunset cruise with the crazy captain with an awesome moustache! Really romantic and lots of fun with a late night moon lit dip. The trip to the local ruins of Knossos is well worth the money as a day out. All in all highly recommended to any ages wanting a quiet (but not too quiet) get away with some local culture and cuisine.
