The Princess Sun Hotel captivates guests with its spotless sea views from the balconies and a selection of pools and bars, which earn praise for their cleanliness and modernity. While the beachside dining adds to the hotel's charm, some evening venues have been critiqued for a lack of liveliness. The accommodation, usually noted for its spacious and well-appointed rooms, receives mixed reviews regarding upkeep and cleanliness. Friendly and helpful staff contribute to positive experiences, although a few visitors have pointed out occasional lapses in service. Opinions on value for money diverge, reflecting disparities in guest expectations of food, drinks, and facilities.

Booked last minute, had a fabulous end-room with a large balcony & a wonderful view of the sea. Lots of families but entertainment acceptable for a couple (eg traditional greek dancing or music quiz). All inclusive ended before the bar closed. Food perfectly fine (normal all inclusive) with a nice outdoor restuarant area with a good view of the sea & mountains. A couple of pools, plenty of sun beds, big queues at bars but staff nice and good selection - a few cocktails on offer and good selection of soft drinks. Slushes, greek iced coffee, iced tea, juices etc as well as all the usual alcohol options. Very good that you could catch the mini bus to the beach/bar area of a sister hotel & utilise the all inclusive facilities there (fresh gyros, BBQ meats, icecream, slush drinks). Need closed in water shoes for the sea as it's stones/shingles. Only a few bars/restaurants in local area, worth being all inclusive as you're up a hill in a fairly quiet town. Clean rooms & resort, really lovely holiday. Long transfer.

Our first holiday abroad for nearly 4 years. Princess Sun didn’t disappoint.
Found the hotel was immaculately clean as was our room which was cleaned daily. Bed sheets and towels changed daily too.
Food generally good in both the restaurant and poolside snack bar. Good choice of food however only lukewarm at times. Poolside snack bar open from 10.00am until 6.00pm. Staff always replenishing food on offer - the first time we’ve experienced this on an all inclusive holiday.
Drinks as you’d expect with all inclusive - local beer/spirits which were fine, cocktails good.
Staff were absolutely superb considering they’d been working flat out since May. A special mention for the bar staff and chefs at the snack bar. Always welcoming and very attentive.
Shame the same can’t be said about the lady on reception. We asked her 5 times about keeping our room until the evening considering we had a night flight. We were eventually told on our last day that we couldn’t keep the room because the hotel was fully booked. Not good at all considering we’d been asking every day for the last five days of our holiday. We were eventually allowed to keep the room after my wife told her about having Crohns disease. We don’t normally bring this up but had to on this occasion. The cost for keeping the room was 48 euros whereas other people we talked to were charged 32 euros for the same time. Maybe the hotel needs to stick to a payment structure.
Please note the hotel is situated on a hillside which means that the walk back from the village can be challenging for those with mobility issues.
Also a long transfer time, we were aware of this because theJet2 website does state this however we’d strongly recommend a private transfer for those who don’t like travelling on a coach for over 2 hours.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the break so thanks to all at Princess Sun. Just a shame about the lady on reception and the walk uphill hence a 4/5 instead of a 5/5.

Arrived at the hotel to be greeted by very friendly checking in staff, was checked in quickly, and shown to our room where there was a sandwich, water and an apple not sure how long it had been there, it wasn't nice, very small room, small bathroom you had to shut the door to get to the shower, small balcony, overlooked the road not a great view.
The staff around the hotel were all lovely, polite and friendly. We only went to the pool area a couple of times, the rest of the time was spent at the beach. The beach bar facilities were excellent, from the showers to the toilets, changing cubicles, the buffet bar, the pizzas and Gyros were amazing always freshly made. Andi on the bar was fantastic, always chatty remembered what you drank(also the one with the beard, didn't get his name), the waiting on staff were great, always cleaning, just loved this place.
The pool bar was good, very friendly staff, always clean, can't fault it.
The main bar where the impeccable bar staff George & Stav were serving, very smart uniforms, very clean bar, great service, took pride in everything they did.
George on reception was amazing, helped us get a transfer bus to another hotel for our daughters wedding, also we had a late check out which was perfect.
Can't comment on the entertainment as we didn't go to any shows, but the entertainment staff were very friendly, always chatting to us whenever we saw them.
We visited the spa a few times, had to book a time slot for the steam & sauna, it wasn't a problem, the best steam room i've ever been in.
Also used the gym on a daily basis, the lady who cleaned was always chatty and smiling, even though we walked on her freshly mopped floor all the time.
The main restaurant on site was great, plenty of tables and chairs both inside and out, lots of fresh varied food everyday lots of choices.
After being there for 3 weeks we got to know the duty manager quite well, lovely guy, he took an interest in where we had been, what we had been doing, nice genuine guy Dionisis Sampatakos...we will be back one day to see you again, thank you for a great stay

Just got back from a week trip to Princess sun Hotel. The hotel itself is lovely, very clean and lots of sunbeds, you definitely don’t have to get up early for a sunbed. The free shuttle to the beach was a bonus.

However, the food was not good. We went for breakfast once, there wasn’t much choice and the ‘continental breakfast’ is exactly the same as normal breakfast without the hot food. We didn’t even bother going to the restaurant for lunch we just got pizza at the snack bar, the pizza was the only nice food we came across. Dinner in the restaurant also was not the best and pretty much the same thing every night. We were bored of the food by the second day. There is not much around the hotel so if you want to go to dinner we got a taxi to lindos and back which cost us 50 euros. Lindos is beautiful but not sure it’s worth the 50 euro round trip. All the money we took with us was spent on snacks at the supermarket because we were starving.

The entertainment during the day was good, aqua fit, darts, archery, volleyball etc but at night there wasn’t much to do. The shows put on by the entertainment team were not good we actually left and went back to our room.

If you are leaving the hotel in the evening and want a shower you have to have a shower at the pool shower and get changed in the pool toilets unless you pay extra for late check out. They aren’t allowed to let you have a shower anywhere else because of ‘Covid’.

There is a fridge in the room and even if you are all inclusive they do not stock it up with water, you have to go to the supermarket on-site to buy your own water. This is strange as at all inclusive places I have been before they atleast stock up water in the fridge. And just an FYI all inclusive finishes at 11pm after this time you have to pay.

The hotel is nice but a few changes need to be made.

Dear Climber 17448812405, We would like to thank you for sharing your holiday experience with us and other fellow travelers on Tripadvisor. First of all, we are very relieved to read that you enjoyed moments of relaxation at our pool and you found our free shuttle service to your convenience. It's always nice to read our guests comments, especially when they are having a great time. However, we are really unfortunate to read that some parts of your stay did not meet your expectations. Although, food preferences are a matter of persnal taste , we do respect your point of view and we will definetly take your comments under consideration because there is always enough space for improvements. As for the changing room, we are sorry for your experiencing this inconvenience, however, according to our saftey protocol about Covid-19 that was created based on the implementations and guidelines of the Greek goverment, the changing rooms and shower rooms have to remain out of service, which serves the cause of the general protection of guests. Finally, regarding the mini fridge , in all our website and in all descriptions is stated that the rooms include a mini fridge which is empty. Once again thank you for your honest feedback and for being our guest. We hope we will get the chance to host you again in our hotel. Best regards, Princess Sun Hotel

We have just returned from a week at the Princess Sun! We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews and genuinely wonder what people expect in a 4* these days.

There is plenty of choice of food throughout the day, with lots of salads, fruits, meats etc. the pizza at the pool bar is absolutely amazing and they make them constantly in the pizza ovens throughout the day.

Drinks could be better in terms of the cocktails etc, but again for a 4* I was happy with the quality and there are plenty of soft drink options at the pool bar too (including gorgeous peach and strawberry slushies).

Carmelia who works behind the bar is absolutely brilliant! She can make about 5 drinks at a time and it’s fascinating 🤣.

The beach bus runs every half an hour and the time table is available at the hotel and on the bus stop outside. The drivers are really friendly too and wont leave you hanging around if they see you are waiting. Its only a 9 seater bus though so if you want to go to the beach, i would bear that in mind.

Towel cards are provided at the start of your stay (and towels can be changed every 2 days) and on your last day you need to make sure you get the cards back once you hand your towels in. Luckily we didnt get charged for not having these but we hadnt realised we needed to get the cards back from the spa and there was no one around when we took them back.

The reception staff are really friendly! Particularly Poppy who is extremely helpful.

The little shop just outside the hotel is pretty reasonable in terms of prices, but there are a few shops at the bottom of the hill to the right. The hill is quite steep so if you have mobility issues you may be best off seeing if the beach bus can drop you off at the bottom of the hill and i know he picked people up on his way back up if he spotted them.

If you turn left out of the hotel and walk down to the safari quad place there is a small hill to the left with a beach bar at the bottom called Mosa and a restaurant to the right called Lythos. Both are beautiful and extremely chilled. Mosa is free entry as well and does lovely food and cocktails.

My friends hired a car and we were fortunate enough to go into lindos with them, it would have been nice to explore a little more if we had had time but you could park at st pauls bay for €7 all day. If you prefer then i think the bus was only €3! Again, prices and timetables can be seen at reception and the bus stops at the bottom of the hill.

There are plenty of beds too and yes some people do reserve them but no one says anything and there’s still beds at 10ish! The three pool areas are well maintained with the smaller pool (with the beige beds/parasols) is the quieter spot. The animation team do a lot of activities during the day and dont pester you too much if you want to just sit and chill.

Overall we couldnt fault the food, the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms!

Hotel lovely, beautiful views, food ok, but very small choice for the size of hotel, only 1 restaurant with small selection. Agree with last review staff are not very friendly a lady on reception quite rude, also the lady at the spa very abrupt, I tried to book jacuzzi and was not a pleasant experience, so did not use the spa.
My main issue with holiday (I am still here on day 12 of holiday) is that our room is next to the cleaning cupboard and below one, so every morning I get woken up at 7am! And the noise continues until after 10am! Banging on walls and trolleys screeching! Asked to move rooms, but said fully booked, but people leaving and arriving every day, so could quite easily put us in a different room they just choose not to. This has ruined my holiday and therefore I would not return to this hotel. Would love a lie in, but lie awake stressed every morning 😡

Top tip! At the bottom of hill turn left small row of shops, hidden behind these shops are 2 gorgeous places, Mosa beach club and Thyllos beach bar and restaurant, made our holiday finding these little gems as nothing else around.

The hotel was renovated this year following the fires of 2023, in fact it is located on a hill that still bears the signs of such events.
It is a well-kept structure, with green spaces and new rooms.
We booked a family room overlooking the sea and it is worth it: the terrace is really large and well divided from that of the neighboring rooms offering tranquility and relaxation.
There are 3 swimming pools: one with slides and around children's area with water of 40 cm, 2 with water 140 cm.
All the pools have sun loungers around them and there is a bar full of drinks and food, a particular praise to the pizza.
The sea is a 10 min walk away and can be reached by shuttle from 9am to 7pm.
It is better to reach the beach early alatrimo because it is shared with the guests of the good hotel and after 10 you can find everything full.
Just below the hotel there is a bus stop, you can go hiking with the animation of the village or rent a car.
The buffet restaurant is rich and quite varied with meat, fish and vegetarian menus, there is also an Italian chef.
Good and with great service (congratulations to Alina who served us) the Greek tavern at the pool bar.
The cleanliness of the rooms and rooms is cared for and careful. The staff is friendly and the animation present but not intrusive, they have a good way of making contact.
The mini club has an indoor room and a playground in the shade, the animators are attentive and capable; they were able to welcome well, although without specific skills, a child with disabilities.

Food - appalling all inclusive food and drink at the Princess Sun. Most day’s you’d be guaranteed a bad meal. I generally did not look forward to any mealtime I had whilst there. It is not just a matter of taste, the choice and random selection (one night in particular all options where fish even from the soup, adults were choosing the small selection of children’s food as it was so bad and even the watermelon tasted of fish!) the heat of the food leaves a lot to be desired. There was also not many options at all; Im not a picky eater and I still struggled for an option as it is so limited.
Most day’s I’d live of bread and butter and resorted to buying bread, croissants, cheese and ham to keep in the room fridge so I could eat something substantial.
The only positive would be the freshly made pizzas at the pool bar during the day although there is always a mad rush.
Drinks wise, the wine is tasteless and weak whilst the cocktails are very basic are choice is very poor.

Room is modern but cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. Considering we were out of the room from 9am onwards most days more often than not the room would not be cleaned upon our return the cleaner would then appear at 5.30-6pm replace the towels and that would be it.
The shower constantly leaked and the tiny floor towel did minimal to absorb and on several occasions there was close slips.
Room towels are ridiculously small and poor quality.
Tea and coffee facilities upon arrival you were greeted with 4 small milks, these where used on the first day and never replaced for the duration of the holiday.
Pool wise there’d consistently be spilt drinks and not cleaned up making the area very sticky and not enough bins or colleagues to remove empty plates/cups.

Pool bar- constant queues, drinks as stated earlier poor quality and lack of choice in terms of cocktails. Colleagues attitude and behaviour poor on many occasions the colleague would be shouting and I even observed the colleague telling me that it’s not their jobs to be tidying up cups and plates and people should tidy up after themselves. Whilst there is an element of people taking ownership I don’t not agree with comments like this being made to customers.
Overall Staff attitude is poor and needs some improvement you are made to feel in their way, it’s not their job, regularly ignored at restaurant and consistently having to ask for wine/coffee etc, even passing colleagues in the corridor you would have to move out of the way for them. Basic manners cost nothing and something I feel this team need to learn.

Both bars on an evening lacked any atmosphere perhaps some live music each evening instead of just on a Saturday night might help.

Overall a disappointing experience and definitely not 4 star quality.

My wife and I have recently returned from 11 nights at this hotel, what a wonderful time. Positive features include:-

Friendly late 2 am check in with porter assistance
Fresh rolls and water in fridge awaiting us
Modern room, comfy beds with pool and sea view (room 3108)
Free safe and tea and coffee facilities
Free large beach towels
Lots of free sun beds around pool and beach
Regular free shuttle service to and from beach
Great variety of quality food
Local spirits available and plentiful
All inclusive fully available until you leave
For late check outs luggage storage and bookable showers and towels are available at no cost

As having taken numerous 4 star + holidays we found all the staff at this hotel exceptional. We would especially like to mention the attentive restaurant staff, the very efficient bar staff both during the day and evening shift. Have to give a special mention to the young shuttle bus driver who is a credit to this hotel as nothing is too much trouble for him. We were impressed by the entertainment organised by the Pink Wave group especially their evening theatre shows (highly amusing for all ages). The duty manager was very attentive throughout our stay and wished us well on our departure.

If you can't manage to visit this lovely hotel certainly come to Rhodes where we found great customer care everywhere we went. Henry and Liz from Bangor Northern Ireland.

Hotel in a rather exclusive area, surrounded by 5 star hotels. It is not on the sea, it is about 800 meters from the beach (Shuttle with Frequent Trips) and offers 3 swimming pools (1.25m, 1.45m and with slides for children), not very large but "right". They give free beach towels, which you can change every 2 days. There is entertainment with Alpitour not intrusive, we chose all inclusive and had a good time, friendly staff and cleanliness everywhere. Main restaurant with many different dishes for all tastes, including vegan or celiac choices. There is also a lower mini buffet, to facilitate the little ones. Kids club very popular. Paid excursions, but we rented a small car (Panda) and drove independently - recommended choice because sometimes the heat is so strong that you can not do as planned. There is also a poolside bar that also prepares light lunches and pizza, and in the evening turns into the Greek tavern, with few seats, to book (1 dinner per week is included), with more sophisticated dishes. The food is generally average, not great, with some happy surprises, usually thanks to the grill with Italian cook of the all inclusive Ciao Alpitour. Last bar inside the lobby, for aperitifs and cocktails after dinner. Even non-alcoholic cocktails. High presence of foreigners and children.
The staff is attentive and noted for the excellent Eleftherios at the reception, who speaks great English and is attentive like no other to the needs of customers, and Barbara, the entertainment manager. You can rent a car with Alpitour through the assistance reference of Rhodes, Emanuele, who follows 7 structures, or with the hotel .
The only out of tune note: the beach. We knew it was sand and pebbles (there are other beautiful sandy beaches, such as Prassonissi, Tsambika, Agathi, Pefkos/Lee, Limni...), we did not expect dilapidated, smashed deck chairs, with rusty umbrellas. In a 4 star hotel this is absolutely no good! And it is the reason for the 4 stars. By the way, on the beach (which is shared with another structure) there is another bar that prepares light lunches and after 6 pm becomes a fee, if one wants to dine by the sea.
Instead, the poolside loungers are adequate. Change deckchairs and umbrellas, we fled the beach (otherwise beautiful, with crystal clear water) because of deckchairs and umbrellas!
Last note, the spa: tested for scrub and body and face massage, we enjoyed it.
Ultimately, we recommend the structure and rental of a car. Lindos is about 30' and Rhodes about 1h. Having the car small, it will be easier to find parking in the narrow streets of Rhodes. For Lindos you arrive early, the acropolis after 10.30 is a furnace at 40 degrees.
I hope I've been helpful. Enjoy your holiday! 🙂
