We had a great time at Domes Miramare and the hotel staff looked after us very well. Special shout out to the amazing Milka, from the guest relations team who kept in contact with us during the entire trip to assist and help with anything – fantastic service. Our room was located on the beach front with sea views and set back from the pool area. The pool bar was partially covered which was great if you needed some shade (it was 36C when we were there in July) and the perfect spot for drinks or lunch. All the bar staff were friendly and attentive – another shout out for Spiros who was brilliant. Always busy but always with a smile and great attitude. We loved the sushi – sometimes available at the pool bar or in the Raw Bar. Korypho across the road was excellent but more of a special occasion/fine dining option. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of options but needs some improvement to make it even better. Outside of the resort we dined at The Village Taverna, Bella Vista and Rose Garden to mix things up from fine dining to more traditional greek home cooking – all were recommended and very enjoyable. After 8 nights we felt very relaxed, reinvigorated and well looked after. We'd happily return here.

Hotel's Favorite
We can’t fault this hotel, from the spacious comfortable room in the newer apartments, the breakfast buffet where freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee are poured into cups on arrival, a choice of sun beds in either two pool areas or beach front, relaxing pool bar for drinks during the day and evening with excellent service, as well as happy greetings from all staff around the hotel. I particularly liked the huge wet room in the bathroom, large balcony area with sea view, the no-limits on the number of sun-lounger towels, air-conditioned gym with state-of-the-art equipment, hotel cats!, the walk along the extended beach front to other bars, and the walks up into the hills to idyllic tavernas. Our highlight was learning paddle-boarding in the clear blue sea. Lowlights were the club music around the newer pool area (speakers all around, no escape), no toaster at the breakfast buffet, and no baklava in the dinner buffet! The location of the hotel is quite far away from any town so we didn’t venture out by taxi to sightsee. Overall, we found this to be a luxurious stay and had a most relaxing holiday.

The perfect place. The facilities are great. The staff is very friendly and cooperative (Julia especially). However the food is mediocre. Following a delay in our flight They let us extend our stay for 6 hours without charging us. Highly recommended!

Sadly this hotel doesn’t work. Poor communication and too much focus on looks and style. Perhaps the management are disappointed with the profile of the guests - mostly 60+ Brits (I include myself!) when I stayed for a week in June. The staff try hard but are mostly unfocused and because of the age gap between most of them and the clientele they don’t really get it. Or maybe it’s just recovering from COVID and the staff haven’t gelled yet - but (see my previous reviews) this wasn’t the case at The Gresham Palace in Budapest or the Aman in Venice earlier in the spring. The hotel seems confused - there is a small selection of rooms in a “haute” area but the vast majority are fairly standard hotel double rooms with shower and no bath. Choose your room carefully - depending on your preference. Some rooms are set around the pool (not very private and noise may be an issue - the pool bar is open late) and the others better located around two grassed areas. Some have no view. The public areas are smart and stylish but one gets the impression that the staff don’t like them to be cluttered by guests! The focus seems to be on the small “haute” side as is the website - but I may be mistaken. Another part of the hotel has just reopened. This is the other side of the road behind what has been the main Domes complex. It has a pool and more facilities but no beach of its own. The main hotel is on a thin strip of land between the sea and a main road although we had no issue with road noise. Loungers and umbrellas are two deep on the pebble/gravel beach and sadly there was a reserve your lounger with a towel before breakfast culture - as there seemed to be only just enough. About third had no cushions so are a bit hard. If the newly opened rooms the other side of the road also have beach access this will make getting a lounger much harder. The sea was lovely - warm - mostly sandy underfoot and you walk about 10 or so meters at chest height. The loungers around the pool were taken for most of the day. The breakfast is ok - dinner not that straightforward. A few local taverna type places around but you’ll need to book. The little town (walkable) is very run down and quite sad. Don’t forget it’s a Marriott with everything that goes with that Including not very helpful central reservations.

Response from Irini Roidou, Guest Services / Front Office at Domes Miramare Corfu
Responded yesterday
Dear Reviewer, Thank for sharing your personal experience at our resort. We sincerely apologise for not meeting your expectations and for the inconvenience you may experienced during your stay. Although we understand your frustration, however we would like to inform you that we have guests from all age groups and the hotel is not directed to one specific, but to all. All of our rooms are individual from each other, offering different layouts and locations. We are surprised to hear you did not like our unique location next to the Ionian sea. Regarding your input about our sun loungers we would like to inform you that during the peak season we added more sun loungers and sitting areas all around the sea and the olive groves, to offer enough sunbeds for all our customers. We are not clear regarding your comment about the staff not being grateful of guests in public areas, as this is what public areas and facilities are here for, it is provided for the guests use and our philosophy is to provide you with high standard services as your well being is our number one priority. Marriott is currently the number one hotel chain worldwide with over 30 brands ranging from budget to Luxury. Known for its excellent customer service. Once again the whole Domes Miramare Team would like to thank you for your feedback. Sincerely,

What a fabulous hotel. It lived up to expectations. We stayed for a week in a Haute Living room with a deck with jacuzzi and sea view. Totally private and quiet. There is some road noise but it wasn’t too intrusive. All the staff without exception were unfailingly polite and helpful. Special shout out to the restaurant managers and reception staff and cleaners. Also to Kyriaki and Christos and the chef in the smart restaurant for amazing service and food and introducing us to some award winning Greek wines and Georgia for the same in the buffet restaurant. Irina organised taxis and a boat trip which was memorable. All in all a top notch hotel which deserves its 5 star rating.

The good points: beautiful scenery, very relaxing, room was perfect and very clean. Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day. Staff are extremely friendly. Food is really good. Concierge arranged a fantastic trip for us to nearby islands. The not so good points: Coffee at breakfast was often lukewarm and the portions are extremely small. Cappuccinos and lattes lack flavour. Not a brilliant start to the day if you need strong coffee! Room service: if you want tea brought to your room, you get a tea bag. Just a tea bag. You are expected to boil the water. No teapot. No teacups. €1 for each tea bag. Not brilliant for a 5 star hotel. Feels a bit lazy to just bring a tea bag on a room service tray. We ordered ice cream one day after lunch, and it arrived in the tub. €6 for barely one scoop of ice cream and it wasn’t even presented in a bowl. Again, it feels quite lazy. When spending nearly €1000 a night for a room, it’s the little things that make a difference. And unfortunately, this hotel did not hit the mark on that. Because of this, it is unlikely we will return which is a shame as the hotel scenery is stunning and staff are extremely friendly.

This is a fantastic hotel. There are two sections, new and old. The old is built right on the beachfront and although the new, across the road, is beautifully appointed we felt the beach side section was a nicer more preferable location. We had room 528, an upgrade, but nonetheless amazing with dining and sitting areas, a double balcony and two bathrooms plus a great sea view. Worth the extra. We ate half board. The arrangements are a bit confusing and the allowance for eating in The Raw Bar is just mean but on the whole the food was interesting and varied. We particularly enjoyed the evening sushi selection from the buffet. The staff are charming, faultlessly polite and efficient but there is some missing detail here: a broken toilet seat in the communal poolside loos unrepaired for our whole visit, our mini bar left half full despite several requests to top up, cups and glasses from the room removed after use but not replaced, regularly cold (or maybe warm) food on the hot buffet, luke warm filter coffee every morning at breakfast and the rather grim poached eggs swimming in water each morning. I’m certain no one eats them. We’ve had a great week but its 4* not 5 because of the missing detail.

We really thought we had arrived in our perfect holiday destination and we were treated exceptionally well by the staff in general. There were a few staff issues mainly with house keeping but I suppose you can get these problems when it’s a brand new part of the hotel. Positives 1- Cleanliness of the hotel grounds and hotel public areas 2- Hotel food (although I thought it a little expensive around the pool areas) 3- Hotel staff, the vast majority are fabulous with a few that may need to look at a new career outside of hospitality! 4- Location to the beach. 5- Room quality and sleep quality. Negatives 1 - Road noise around the upper pool can be quite loud at certain times. 2- Housekeeping was not to the standard I would have expected (this maybe just our room) 3 - The walk to the resort town was fairly close but I don’t see why a shuttle bus was not provided by the hotel. 4- more entertainment in the evening would have been welcome. 5 - Drink prices are too expensive, I know it’s five star and you will pay a premium but 7 euro for a beer and 14 for a cocktail I feel are on the high side. Overall we had a great holiday and met some lovely friend there but we thought the resort town was a little run down and maybe it was a little remote for us hence why we would probably not return.

Was so looking forward to staying at this hotel, access to the beach, great pool area etc, on arrival we were offered an upgrade by Maria, the friendly concierge, I declined as I was happy with the room we had originally booked, we felt slightly pressurised into looking at the upgrade, so we acquiesced. The upgrade was in a new build , across a busy road and up a step hill, we are both of a “ certain age”, and our mountaineering days are behind us. This building lacked atmosphere, there wasn’t a person to be seen and I didn’t feel comfortable to be staying here. I was informed that there were no rooms available in the main building, I insisted that as far as I was concerned our booking was for the main building, Finally after much deliberation we were given a great room for the whole week in the main building. The management team treated us like royalty, Thank you all , much appreciated. The food in the buffet is of an excellent standard and the staff are attentive and very professional, pool area is spotless with plenty of bed’s available here and on the beach. I will spend the long winter nights dreaming of my stay here, Thank you Dome Miramare, we will return.

The Domes brand of 5-star resorts stands simply for the best and peaceful places on earth to rest and replenish. This location on Corfu East coast represents the former Onassis estate. As the Crete location, this is a successful and luxurious combination of mind-body relaxedness, super-friendly and attentive staff, great rooms, and wonderful food in immediate adjacency to the private beach. The place is all set out to offer round-the-clock relaxation. If Corfu did not have other places to explore and visit, I would without problems have stayed the whole time at the resort. Every day, the sun rises from behind the Albanian mountains, only a few people are up at the time, and it is just so uniquely beautiful to watch and absorb the “event” on the empty quiet beach before life awakes. There are several restaurant options on site but the elegant buffet remained our first choice. For breakfast and dinner, there were enormous variety of selectable items, prepared with so much love to detail, healthy foods, many Greek specialties in tiny enough bites to not overwhelm the stomach capacity and yet get a broad experience. There are lots of amiable features (apart from the fact that there were no children), including a small outdoor fitness and the fabulous architectural entry hall and lobby complex with such a wonderful scent and spirit – it can only be peace. Easy to recommend, high desire to return!!
