This hotel truely spoilt us! Just stayed in a Ritz Carlton hotel and was deeply dissapointed, when this hotel blew it out of the water! Can't wait to be back, staff are fantastic and it really is a personal hotel with personal service. On the outside I was thinking surely this cannot be a five star resort, boy was I wrong. Absolutely fantastic.
The Domes Miramare is an opulent, stylish, adults-only beach resort. It’s sublime location is stunning. It’s situated on the shores of the Ionian Sea, near the pretty hilly village of Moraitika, around 30 minutes south of Corfu Town. Upon arrival, you soon appreciate the quality of the resort, from the warm friendly staff to the well designed and spacious facilities. We stayed in room 406 and our friend in room 405, the private patio areas of which look across the swimming pool and the sea. The rooms are generously laid out and very comfortable. Breakfast is served at the Makris Restaurant, which is literally situated on the shore with unspoilt views across the sea towards the Greek mainland. Even with the current Covid restrictions, the breakfast was well executed and of good quality but a bit limited in the offering compared to other resorts of this quality. There are two restaurants: Raw and Makris. Whilst the menus looked comprehensive, we didn’t dine in either, opting to enjoy some of the smaller local family-run restaurants and tavernas. The resort has all the usual luxury treatments available and there’s a gym in the lush gardens too. The bar by the pool is position perfectly to take in the views. There’s also a large bar near reception, which we enjoyed during a fantastic thunder storm. Being a fairly new complex it appears to accessible for people of all abilities. Our visit was faultless and had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. We stayed here for five nights and plan to return in the near future. …
This is a lovely hotel with a very relaxed vibe. When we went in Sept 2020 hotel ran in “Covid-safe mode”, with plenty of precautions, but overall we didn’t feel this was impacting our enjoyment at all, quite the opposite, we felt very safe throughout. Service was superb, with super-friendly staff. We were on the half board plan, which either meant dinner at Makris, or in the Sushi bar upstairs. Food was excellent throughout, with plenty of a’la carte choices. We also got a night out at the Rose Garden as part of the plan, a lovely local restaurant, highly recommended! Standard rooms are a little pokey for a resort of its kind due to the mid-century modern building, but well-appointed and comfy. The hotel was completely remodelled only a few years ago, so everything is quite new. The grounds are beautifully landscaped around old olive trees. The beach is pebbly and shallow, the water super clean, and there were enough loungers for everyone. Beach service is super swift, just press a button on your sun umbrella. The spa is excellent, albeit pricey. Guest Relations Manager Ageliki was amazing throughout, helping us with boat rentals on two occasions, which I would highly recommend, especially to explore the north west from Agni. Overall, a perfect hotel for a week away in the sun. …
This was the second time for us in Domes Miramare and it was as amazing as the first one! Excellent property with the most helpful and friendly staff, amazing views, great food and comfortable rooms. We had booked one of the basic categories and it was really nice with a huge bed and a spacious shower. Many things were different due to the pandemic protocols and everyone took them very seriously which made feel safe! Definitely coming back soon!
Stayed here for the last week the hotel was open before they closed for for the season. All in all a good place to soak up the last of the summer sun, whilst listening to a podcast, and enjoying a vodka tonic! Unfortunately there were 2 areas which repeatedly let the hotel down, the room and the food - both of which boil down to not particularly great service. It feels a shame to not leave such a glowing review as others but I’m afraid it wasn’t our experience. 1. Room: the first day we had a terrible flood in room. Cue us making a dam with all our towels as the bathroom was flooded with water seeping into the bedroom. The drain had blocked in the wet room. This was sorted but as my partner said, the impression given was this wasn’t the first time it had happened. We weren’t given an apology. The fridge also broke in the room, this took a couple of visits and a call to reception to get it eventually sorted. Housekeeping didn’t turn up one day despite our ask for visits daily. 2. Food and beverage: perhaps it was end of season and staff were running out of steam?Overall communication to needs improvement. As half board we were eligible for dining in two local restaurants, unfortunately this wasn’t shared with us, and we learnt it during our stay from another guest. I really do recommend this if on half board as some of the best meals we had were dining “out”. The service at both restaurants in the village were very good. Unfortunately my birthday celebrations weren’t managed very well. To avoid any problems I spoke to reception several days in advance of the day to let them know, and discuss my dietary restrictions. I was assured they’d make sure this was accommodated for. When we arrived the Matrie D at was rather frosty (and this also happened on separate occasions with her at breakfast) and at the table we discovered dietary restrictions hadn’t been accommodated for; so we had to have an embarrassing discussion at the table to ask for something to be modified and I had to omit desert. The food that was off-menu was disappointing and that’s not the chefs fault as they clearly hadn’t had advance notice. It left the evening feeling quite flat and I felt embarrassed. It wasn’t a memorable birthday meal for the right reasons. Separately I wanted to note we did however really enjoy the service in the bar in the main lobby, the service was attentive and the vodka martinis were great! Overall, we had a good few days in the hotel in the sun. This is however a good 4 star hotel. It’s not 5 star, the service needs quite a boost to get it to that. …
