Just returned from a week at Alkionis.
Pros: situated on the main street of Moraitika. Rooms quite spacious and bathrooms newly refurbished. Shower is over the bath but there is no fitting to put Shower head on the wall so you have to hold it for the duration.
Cons: very loud traffic noise from early morning as you are on the main road to Corfu Town. Breakfast was awful, bacon, eggs, beans all cold and no microwave to heat. I actually bought my own cereal and yoghurt from a supermarket. Air con in room was very noisy and didn't work very well. We complained and they fixed it but still making weird noise.
The WORST aspect of this hotel is the pool area. It is a disgrace with ancient sun loungers, dirty pool and boarded up snack bar. We took one look at it and went to the sister hotel Albatross where we were charged €7 per day for 2 loungers. I had seen a video of Alkionis before booking and the pool area is falsely represented.
We did enjoy our holiday but this hotel was a complete disappointment.

Room Tip: Go to the beach instead of using the hotel pool. Be prepared to pay for sun loungers though. Good...

I was quite skeptical at first, because of the reviews and the location on the road, instead I changed my mind. It's worth all 3 stars it has and maybe a little more. The rooms assigned to us, recently renovated, overlooked the back pool, so they were very quiet. Well cleaning, if requested towel change takes place every day. Air conditioning so so, but just requested the technician's intervention for a problem immediately arrived and solved. Friendly and helpful reception. Valid breakfast, both salty and sweet, with decent rotation of the dishes. The location is great, on the main street of Moraitika, a short distance from the beach and all services (bakery, pharmacy, tourist agencies, shops, parking). A pleasant surprise, I was very satisfied.

I will Start with the good points...The hotel is in a good location, bus stops outside, 5min walk to the beach, shops ect on the doorstep, cleaner is lovely. Now the bad points. The hotel is rundown, surrounded by abandoned buildings with scaffholding, the female receptionist with blonde hair is very rude. When we checked in she snapped at us because we could not understand her broken english, we paid for a late checkout, she informed us the day before leaving that we are leaving at 11am (almost like she could'nt wait to get rid of us) informed her we paid for a 6pm checkout. Airconditioning in the rooms dont work, I asked the same receptionist how to fix it, she told us "thats it, its working". Nope theres was no cool air and she told us it cannot be set bellow 24oC. I had to buy room fans from a shop. The beds are Rock solid with one little pillow and a thin sheet (we had to ask for extra pillows and a duvet) The swimming pool is tiny and dirty with many floatimg insects and peeling paint, the shower is tiny and when you shower the shower curtain sticks to your skin as there is nowhere to move in the shower, also the bathroom floods when you take a shower as its basically a wet room but the water runs off into the hall. The food is terrible, no choice, all greek style food approx 5dishes to choose. Nothing for say children who are used to more western tastes. wasps buzzing about everywhere in the dining room. Lastly the choice of Alcoholic drinks for all inclusive is terrible. you are only limited to a few. I would love to come back to corfu as it is beautiful, but never ever again to this hotel, only reason it got two stars was for location.

Where do I start?
On arrival the hotel receptionist with blonde hair was very rude when checking in and needs to learn how to provide customer service, not a great start to our holiday. When shown to our rooms we could not get cold air from the air conditioning unit and asked the rude receptionist for help only to be told that its working and is pre set at 24 degrees. Air conditioning cuts of after 20 minutes where you have to switch it on again manually. Dont expect cooler air during the night unless you are prepared to wake up every 20 minutes to turn it back on.
Bed mattresses were hard and only 1 pillow and a thin sheet on beds. I had to ask for more pillows from the morning receptionist who was much nicer and also a bed cover as I was cold with just a thin sheet.
Food was not hot and is tranferred in from sister hotel "The Albatross" ,and only 4 or 5 greek food options to choose from.
We went all inclusive and was very disappointed with drinks included with this board, brandy, ouzo or small plastic cups of draught beer.
I couldnt figure how to work the shower and after 30 minutes I finally figured out how to work it- pull shower handle out towards you and turn towards the left for hot and right for cold.
There are no lifts in this hotel and lots of steps so not great for anyone with mobility problems.
Hotel is in a good location with a bar and bakery accross the road but the customer service at the bakery was just as bad as the blonde hair receptionist at the hotel.
5 minute walk to the beach and all amenities and be prepared to be woken every morning from 4am with roosters in the area.
This was my family's first trip abroad and they loved the beauty of the island but were let down very badly with lack of Greek hospitality and friendliness. Avoid this hotel if you want a memorable holiday.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was absolutely brilliant. The staff were especially helpful, particularly Viera, who went above and beyond. We were bed and breakfast and the choice of food was very good. We had arranged to hire a mobility scooter for my husband. Viera made sure that it could be left in reception at night and ensured that an electrical socket was available for charging the battery. We would highly recommend this hotel

I spent great time at Alkionis Hotel Corfu with my family. The food was always fresh, well prepared and really delicious. You can eat variety of vegetables, fish, meat, fruit, icecream and many types of original greek dezerts. The room and the bathroom are smaller, but always clean. Fridge, air-conditioning and hairdrier are part of every room. Hotel looks very good after the renovation. The swimming pool is clean and there are not many people through the day. The beach is situated up to 5 minutes by walk, that is no any issue. The beach is really beautiful and long, we spent whole day on the beach enjoying clean and hot sea. Hotel is situated in the center of Moraitika, supermarkets and souvenir shops are all around same as traditional greek taverns with tasty beer. What we appreciated most were friendly employees. Waiters were always in good mood, singing (we miss you Nicolas), talking to tourists etc., they provided us a great service. If we will come back to Corfu, we will definitely stay in Alkionis Hotel again. Thank you for everything guys, we love you!

Average hotel, but with perfect facilities for the category. Air conditioning in the room, swimming pool, a terrace, linen change every two days. Recently renovated it has modern and functional rooms and environments. Comfortable bed, although French. I requested a stiffer pillow and it was brought to me immediately. A nice indoor tropical garden, very comfortable bathrooms and showers at pool level. The sore points, for us Italians, are the almost total absence of sweet foods for our breakfast (mostly German customers, so all savory breakfast) and no Italian television channel. But on holiday you can also adapt... Dinner where we always found something we liked, but never tasted cold pasta or spaghetti, only local cuisine... Very helpful staff. A note of merit in particular to the lady at the reception and the guy at the restaurant. The location of the hotel is convenient for walking in the evening, in the middle of the village, and to go to the beach you walk for only 10 minutes flat. Parking absent but it seems that here you can park anywhere... Highly recommended!

This was a last minute rebook from another stay, and we couldn't be happier. The staff is friendly, kind and helpful. The atmosphere is very nice, they have a pool next to the hotel and one closer to the beach that you can use as well.

Moraitika is a cute little town with a beach with gorgeous blue water, and Messonghi, another small town is 5-10 min walk away, so you can eat at many different restaurants.

The room and the whole hotel was very clean and air conditioned. We loved it and we would come back.

So how to say?? we arrived we were given our room, disappointed no luggage rest the suitcases remain on the ground.
the bathroom not top the shower out of order signal at the reception who did nothing so I removed it and it is the housekeeping that put a new one, you shower water everywhere because no channel to stop the water a cata!! would need refreshment - morning and evening meals are imported from a kitchen - no preparation on site then pancakes and morning omelets you forget!! and frankly pasta and rice at all meals the fish and well non-existent! beach 500 m and not 250 m - there are ice creams (not phew) but you guess the perfumes because no indication - the housekeepers wake you up at 8:30!! and what a mess my god!!
Anyway I won't go back!!

In one word great!
A small hotel in the middle of Moraitika and only 5 min walk to the beach. Simple but attractive hotel with modern decor. Room very neat and complete. Great air conditioning and nice cold fridge.
Only I found the bed very hard and then asked for a duvet to put on the mattress. But that was no problem and was settled immediately.
We found the service very good, staff very friendly. Ladies at the reception very involved and professional and the singing waiters loved a chat and joke!
The buffet for breakfast and dinner was very extensive and tasty every time. Salads very nicely laid out and always fresh fruit. There was also a regular Greek dish in the evening, which I really appreciate.
Overall we had a top holiday. And my daughter was on vacation by plane for the first time so for her this was unforgettable.
A lot of luxury is not so important to me, a nice atmosphere and warm welcome all the more.
And what a super nice people in Corfu! Not only in the hotel but on the beach, the bus driver, in the supermarket and the lady from the souvenir shop.
In short, highly recommended!
