We booked this "Hotel" to go away in April , we arrived the hotel had just opened , There were painters still painting walls and rooms, Electricians putting up lights , workmen putting in beds and TV's into rooms . Our first night the electrics in the room failed . They were eventually restored even though the Hotel Manager said that we had sabotaged them ! Days later 2 rooms in our block flooded with toilet waste and poo was left on the walkways for a complete day whilst the workmen sorted it out !! The swimming pool was so cold no one went into it not even the kids ! . The life guard was very bored ! The Hotel manager NIkos was rude . We witnessed him reprimanding staff in public areas and it was obvious that they were all scared of him and his bullying tactics . On a plus side the staff here were very good and could not do enough for you , especially the restaurant staff and restaurant manager were brilliant . The food was always plentiful and very well presented .The beach was stony but ok , the Hotel charged for the use of sunbeds and an umbrella Why ? A walk to the Lake is a must it was very beautiful , you can get good food and drink when there . We took the bus into Georgioupolis and it was well worth the trip , very cheap bus and loads of shops and bars I'm sure that there are better more "ready for business " Hotels to choose from in Crete . We would not recommend this one ever.

This is our 4th time at the Vantaris Beach Hotel. There were 11 if us including a 4year old and an 8 month old. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean everywhere. The food in both the restaurant and beach bar is amazing, very varied, lots to choose from. But the best thing is the staff, Angelo the Maitre De, is very helpful, organised and really friendly. The dining room is very well run and relaxed. The main barman Costas, is wonderful. Not only does he make the best cocktails, but he’s such a happy person. Stelios was the beach bar man and he really looked after us as well. The beach and the pool areas are well well maintained. We all had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be back again. Thank you

We checked into the hotel on Saturday 13th April. We had stayed at the sister hotel - Vantaris Palace - last year and had been very pleased. We expected it to be quiet as it is the very start of the season. However, this is taking the P***! On our first night, a tray of drinks were tipped, accidentally over my husband. the staff were very apologetic. However, no offer to clean my husbands clothes until the next day when I had already done it! The only place to get food is in the main restaurant for breakfast (7-10am) and evening meal (7pm-9pm). There is a beach bar that caters for those wanting food during the times 10am-6pm. However, this has been closed on three occasions when we have tried to get food/drink from there during these hours. If you speak German here you are fine but few of the staff attempt to understand English. I know we are leaving the EU but still.... There is a small shop that is supposed to be open until 9pm but again this was closed for most of yesterday - admittedly it was raining for the majority of the day but this was the only place to get food/nibbles during the hours of 10am - 7pm. This was very disappointing as the beach bar was also closed. I am a diabetic and need to eat little and often! Thank god for the hotel bar that was available and the staff there who are lovely. On a positive note, the hotel is clean and staff are friendly. However, we booked a double room and have been given a. Twin room with the beds pushed together with single bedding! No good if you want to get romantic! On another positive note - the hotel bar creates wonderful Mohitos and the service there is excellent. We are due to leave in 10 day s time - lets hope things improve!

We spent seven days here in April with two children aged 5 and 7. The hotel was great; spotlessly clean, lovely well kept gardens and a great room. We thought the food was delicious, with plenty of choice each day, even for veggies like me. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help out. The hotel is on a beautiful beach with crystal clear seas. It is quite a way from anywhere, but we managed to walk to Georgioupolis (45mins-1hr) and also hired a car for a few days from the very helpful Stella in the car hire place opposite, a great way to get out and about and see some of the island. If you want a peaceful break then this is a lovely place to spend it.

After paying a large sum of money to get a sea view room, they organise "disco" nights wright i front of these rooms. This was not mentioned anywhere in the conditions and it is imposible to rest under in these circumstances. Just awfull. It is a bad idea to pay extra for the sea view rooms and the hotel staff is insesible to the complaints.
