We checked into the hotel on Saturday 13th April. We had stayed at the sister hotel - Vantaris Palace - last year and had been very pleased. We expected it to be quiet as it is the very start of the season. However, this is taking the P***! On our first night, a tray of drinks were tipped, accidentally over my husband. the staff were very apologetic. However, no offer to clean my husbands clothes until the next day when I had already done it! The only place to get food is in the main restaurant for breakfast (7-10am) and evening meal (7pm-9pm). There is a beach bar that caters for those wanting food during the times 10am-6pm. However, this has been closed on three occasions when we have tried to get food/drink from there during these hours. If you speak German here you are fine but few of the staff attempt to understand English. I know we are leaving the EU but still.... There is a small shop that is supposed to be open until 9pm but again this was closed for most of yesterday - admittedly it was raining for the majority of the day but this was the only place to get food/nibbles during the hours of 10am - 7pm. This was very disappointing as the beach bar was also closed. I am a diabetic and need to eat little and often! Thank god for the hotel bar that was available and the staff there who are lovely. On a positive note, the hotel is clean and staff are friendly. However, we booked a double room and have been given a. Twin room with the beds pushed together with single bedding! No good if you want to get romantic! On another positive note - the hotel bar creates wonderful Mohitos and the service there is excellent. We are due to leave in 10 day s time - lets hope things improve!

We spent seven days here in April with two children aged 5 and 7. The hotel was great; spotlessly clean, lovely well kept gardens and a great room. We thought the food was delicious, with plenty of choice each day, even for veggies like me. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help out. The hotel is on a beautiful beach with crystal clear seas. It is quite a way from anywhere, but we managed to walk to Georgioupolis (45mins-1hr) and also hired a car for a few days from the very helpful Stella in the car hire place opposite, a great way to get out and about and see some of the island. If you want a peaceful break then this is a lovely place to spend it.

After paying a large sum of money to get a sea view room, they organise "disco" nights wright i front of these rooms. This was not mentioned anywhere in the conditions and it is imposible to rest under in these circumstances. Just awfull. It is a bad idea to pay extra for the sea view rooms and the hotel staff is insesible to the complaints.

We went there with two kids (8/11) for ten days and really enjoyed our time (all-in). Staff: always very helpful and friendly. Beach: endless in the area, mostly sand & a few pebbles, very clean. Lots of waves though during our stay. Sunbeds were 3€/day, which seems fine to me. Pool: good size, hardly ever crowded even with full hotel, you could swim back and forth or just play around, also very clean & no sunbed stress. Rooms: had a family room with balcony that had partial seaview, also very clean, maybe a bit small for four Food: endless as well - even without all-in no worry to starve. The buffet was refilled continously and was mostly typical Greek, everything we tried was great, but highly recommended are the fresh waffles at breakfast and the sweets for dessert. Improvements? We had one day with unusually heavy rain. There wasn’t really anything to do then inside. Overall, a highly recommended hotel, its architecture resembling a Greek village made it feel less crowded, and it is ideally located for day trips in the Western part of Crete - plenty of offers available at the reception. If you can, try to get a flight to Chania, as the transfer fron Heraklion can take two hours (but go there to see Knossos of course).

We have spent a week there. People are very nice and rooms are clean. Special programs every evening (Belly Dance, Old songs, Greek Evening) . Very good for kids, with playground and no easy "escape" routes for them. Internet is not one of the best I have seen, but otherwise a great experience.
