We travelled in May half term as a family of 4 with two infants. We stayed in a 2 bedroom family room with a private pool on an all inclusive basis. Positives - The all inclusive is worth the money as there is very little outside of the resort - The food and drink was very good. The A La carte restaurants were excellent as was the lunch options at the children’s pool area and beach. The buffet was fine, not as much choice as in other hotels I’ve visited but what was there was good quality. The drinks were excellent. - The pool areas are really well maintained and have comfy loungers and cabanas. The children’s pool area was great, lots of slides, a play park, mini golf, tennis etc. It was well away from the main pool area so you felt very comfortable with children running/crying etc as it was all families there. - The beach it huge and very clean, again lovely loungers, the golf buggies ferry people back and forth but it’s literally a few minutes walk so we enjoyed the stroll - Evening entertainment was good, especially the kids disco! - The private pool was worth the extra with the infants as we could be by the sun while they napped Negatives - We found the service to be hit and miss, sometimes great sometimes extremely poor (mainly breakfast)and some bar staff quite rude - If you attend the buffet between 7-8.30 be prepared to fight for a space, I wouldn’t want to visit in high season - The a la carte restaurants have to be booked immediately when you arrive if you want to get access and even then do not expect to get a time suitable to your requirements (you get 3 visits per 7night stay) We had two small children and struggled to book an early slot (6.30/7) - The room was probably my biggest issue for the following reasons; - it was damp. When getting into bed at night the sheets felt damp, it was uncomfortable and just really not very nice - The cleaning service was again hit and miss, quite a number of times dirty cups and glasses were not removed/replaced - our “child safety” door blocking access to the pool did not lock - The bathroom sink did not hold water - The towels and bathrobes were thread bear, the worst I’ve ever experienced in a “5star” - The phones in the room didn’t work (only needed to call reception but couldn’t) - There was a huge ants nest at the pool and so the pool area was covered in them - All of the above was taken to the front desk on the morning of our second day, nothing was done. My husband returned the next day, nothing was done. I returned the third day and was told someone had gone the day before but to the wrong room, there was no apology. When someone did attend the ants nest was cleaned and the phone was fixed but the door was not fixed, neither was the sink. I went again on the 5th day so once again complain about the “child safety” door and again it was not attended to. As we would never leave our toddler near the pool without one of us this wasn’t an issue but frankly the hotel are leaving themselves open to quite a serious liability issue and serious safety issue by failing to fix it. I didn’t bother going back to reception on day 6! I have visited so many 5 star properties both with and without children and can safely say this was much more like a 4 star. Whilst we have had a nice holiday I wouldn’t return to this hotel again.

Hotel's Favorite
What a fabulous hotel, this hotel really lives up yo its name. From the moment you step in and are greeted with a refreshing drink and given details of the hotel, dinner times etc. to being transported br golf buggy to your room, which are available to guests 24 hrs. Deluxe room with sea view was spacious. spotlessly clean with a well stocked mini fridge. 2 balconies. this was cleaned every day to a very high standard by our lovely lady who was very friendly. in fact all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Pool area was stunning with lots of sunbeds and a poolside bar, pool was very clean and at 1.2m deep excellent to havea swim. There is even a little greek Chapel there. The main restaurant always had a good selection of dishes to suit every taste and there were always greek traditional dishes to chose. This was for breakfast lunch and dinner. we were all inclusive and i would recommend that as drinks can add up very quickly. Service in the three a la carte restaurants was excellent, scirocco (seafood beach restaurant) the evening meal was very generous portions 5 courses. very good, lunchtime snacks good variety to chose from. Great cocktails. the Asian restaurant service again excellent but food a little disappointing 4 courses and small portions. wish i had chosen something different the sushi looked very good coming out i chose the pancake rolls and they were ok. Ostria meat and grill again fantastic service, food was good i had the lamb souvlaki again very small amount of lamb and should have been served with pitta bread but didnt have any lovely location overlooking the pool. my husband opted for the special which was extra but you get a discount for all inclusive. he had the pork chop and that was excellent, very tasty. lovely starter and dessert. a lovely evening. Entertainment each evening was excellent with very good acts each evening. Bars were good, very good choice of drinks and cocktails. Espresso martini very strong coffee taste and not very palatable. the other cocktails we tried were good. service was good but sometimes had to wait a, while to be served. one point i would say for improvement and this is a minor point is when you are greeted initially to provide details of the bus timetables and also the excursions the hotel offers as we would have definitely booked more excursions we only found out about this halfway through the holiday and it was too late to book anything. we managed 1 excursion to lake kournas on the land train but would have definitely booked the excursion to chania as the local bus service was unreliable waited over 2 hours and bus did not come. would definitely recommend this hotel and will return again. all in all superb

My beautiful partner and I stayed for a week at the Anemos Grand, it was fabulous! Spotlessly clean everywhere. All the staff are polite and very helpful. The setting is bliss, the build of the hotel is stunning, the beach is wonderful. Food options are very good, the buffet restaurant has good options, the a la carte restaurants are also very good. We went all inclusive, would recommend as you can easily knock back enough cocktails by the pool bar or indeed the beach bar. There are good options to choose from, there are a few other options like champagne that reserve an extra charge plus a few special food choices but are discounted for those with all inclusive. The only thing we would pick fault with would be the spa, it's lovely but the cost of treatments way too much! We understand this a premium place but a full body massage and a facial treatment with 10% discount €259! Each! Sorry but over €500 for 90 minutes of treatments for us both is a bit excessive.

All in all it was a nice hotel. Let me start with the positive sides. The hotel and rooms look nice and are clean. The food is nice but after 7 days we saw it was repeating itself and we misses some variety, still the service was really great and always quick to serve . All in all all the staff was very nice and friendly except a trainee at the reception who as friendly she tries to be has to work on her arrogance for the future. The room was nice , but the bed was not as expected, cause I expect a king size bed to be really kingsize and not two beds just put next to each other which was really annoying every night with the gap that was not inevitable. They have 2 big pools and one adult pool at the back of the property( kids club) I don’t know why it’s so difficult to have a heated pool at least one , for this time of year the water is really really cold.. I’m used to a heated pool when it comes to this standard of hotels. The water pressure was very low so we could t have a warm shower the last 2 days , also unfortunate. We ordered once room service but not to be recommended to expensive and average , and the person taking ur order is only able to fulfill the order exactly written in the menu , don’t bother asking if anything can be changed or added even for a fee, so flexibility, no. Unfortunately we had one day of sun and the rest of the time rain and cloudy days which was really unfortunate but all in all it’s a nice hotel. The staff in the kids club at the pool were really nice and caring specially Ephteria I think that’s her name. The transport to and from the hotel was nice and smooth. We had to pay 10€ per hour for every hour spent to have a later checkout… I’m used to other kind of service but not a big deal.. So all in all good , will i be back again don’t know?

A superb five nights at Anemos! My wife and I went all inclusive through Love Holidays from Apr 30 to May 5 and loved the whole experience. Highest praise goes to the staff, especially the cleaners - the outside, restaurants, lobby and our room were kept beautifully clean and tidy. Buffet food is fantastic and varies from night to night. We also got 2 nights at the à la carte restaurants, the fish restaurant on the beach (amazing!) and the Asian restaurant, the staff were great but the food was average here. Overall the food and drinks were fantastic, perhaps the filter coffee could have been slightly nicer but that's a minor criticism. The guy cooking breakfast eggs is an egg master. My wife is gluten free (coeliac) and found almost everything labelled clearly with the exception of a few sauces and desserts - so they're not perfect in this area but good. If in doubt, a staff member can be asked. Amazing 'hidden' cocktail bar above the foyer staffed by a cocktail master, great vibe here in the evening. The evening entertainment was solid and varied. Lots of friendly Germans here of their holiday, we're from the UK and it's quite nice to escape our own kind! It seems like there's plenty to do if you've got kids. A good range of experiences, we enjoyed Yoga and the spa, hiring bikes from Nikos, playing tennis and the usual sunbathing. We got the bus to Rethymno straight outside from Anemos and didn't get close to being bored. I would have liked to have had more experiences to meet other guests through sports or activities, most couples and families tend to stay by themselves which is fine and understandable but the hotel could perhaps put on short events where people can meet and chat. We loved it!

From the time of our arrival until our departure, we were warmly welcomed by all members of staff and every one had a friendly smile for us. The hotel was modern, clean, well maintained and our room was spacious and very comfortable. As expected from a hotel of this standard, service was first class and always delivered with a smile. :-)

Anemos Grand Resort is a beautifully presented hotel . For us the staff made the hotel extra special. They were smiley , friendly and kind. The grounds are full of wild flowers which make it beautiful . The pool area is large with plenty of space for everyone. Our suite was immaculately clean, with views over the Sea of Crete. There are bus stops outside the hotel which mean it’s easy to get to Chania, Rethymno or Heraklion / Knossos. I would recommend going to the archeological museums in Heraklion and Rethymno.
