Nestled close to the beach, Mythos Palace Resort & Spa is celebrated by many for its prime location. The resort's clean beach, diverse dining options, and plethora of amenities garner positive attention, though there's margin for enhancement. Rooms are typically found to be clean and cozy, but occasional reports of bugs and odors have been mentioned.
The resort's cleanliness overall receives high marks, particularly for its well-kept public spaces. The atmosphere, infused with evening entertainment and a family-friendly ambiance, is frequently praised, as is the commendable service from the staff. However, some guests feel that unexpected charges have impacted the perceived value of their stay.

Coming for the first time in 2015, we had excellent memories of our visit. This made us determined to choose this hotel again in 2023.
This has been completely refreshed, in a modern and very elegant style.
The staff is very attentive. He responds to the slightest requests, always with great kindness and a communicative smile. Everything is perfectly organized so that you have the best possible stay.
The cleanliness of the premises is impeccable. The facilities are in perfect working order.
The restaurant offers varied dishes and the best tasting food! Themed gastronomic evenings are offered: Italian, Greek, Mexican, etc. You only have to register. There is some very tasteful background music. The atmospheres are very pleasant.
The different points of consumption mean that you don't feel any routine: a bar on the terrace, another in front of the indoor swimming pool, another at the beach...
The beach is located in front of the hotel and rooms there, it only takes three minutes. The beach is clean, without algae, without stones, just made of fine sand with water at 29 degrees! That's wonderful. You just have to move a little to the left (when facing it) to see underwater rocks in the middle of which very beautiful schools of fish are hidden. A real aquarium (masks and snorkels required).
4km to the south is the freshwater lake of Kournas. Unavoidable. With your towel!
Nothing to deplore for us. We will choose this brand again during our next stay in Crete.

Mythos Palace is a place of joy, relaxation and carefreeness. Thanks to an excellent and friendly staff, living a week in this place was regenerating. My partner and I stayed for a week in August 2023 with an all-inclusive formula and we were delighted by the great quality of the food and cleanliness. The beaches are golden expanses maintained with expert civility and the crystal clear waters are spectacular. The way it was organized and the services offered by mythos on the beach are as excellent and impeccable as its staff. The Greek themed evening was entrancing and the food was of excellent quality, as was the case throughout our stay. The rooms are large, perfectly equipped and spotless. Truly the perfect place to combine nature and relaxation. The attention to the health of the environment in every place, including the bedroom, is much appreciated. The only suggestion I would give to improve the experience is that the market inside the resort introduces a POS to pay.

Four of us arrived at 3pm on the first opening day. We were immediately impressed by the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel and the beach. We were also greeted with a drink straight away. It would have been good if we had been given something to eat after a long, tiring journey. Unfortunately we had to wait until dinner. We weren't told, or maybe there weren't any snacks between meals on the first day. But we survived. The rooms are very clean and beautiful. And from day one the staff treated us like kings. Whether it was the cleaning lady, in the kitchen or at the bar, they were all really friendly and nice people who made you feel special. Nico, Anestis, Asteria, Evangelia and all the others, whatever their names are, great people!!! Always nice and happy and up for some fun. The animation team were great too. There was a show almost every evening. I particularly liked the group The Drifters. One day it was my friend's 50th birthday. The whole team from Niko's bar and also in the tavern on the beach looked after him that day and we all had a lot of fun. The beach is very beautiful and the tavern and the beach bar are also great. You can walk along the beach, about 3 km, to the town. The food is very tasty, unfortunately it wasn't hot enough for me at lunchtime. Crete barbecue evening and fish night were simply amazing. The cocktails are not to be sniffed at either. Very, very tasty. What I was missing was perhaps a DJ who would have created a bit of a mood after the show. Our music requests were fulfilled by the entertainment but that's not the real deal. My conclusion at the end: I will 100% come back.

A hotel that is far from any 5 star standard. Compared to all the hotels visited so far, it was a pure disappointment and the first holiday where I look forward to home.
Pros: - All inclusive offer - Beach is very nice for the conditions in Crete - Some staff are really nice (eg. Chariso on the beach, Aristea at customer service), otherwise the service is at a maximum 3 star level
Cons: - Minibar is the only source of normal drinks (Coca Cola, Fanta etc cans), but this is only refilled every 4 days or as in our case only once in 10 days - Drinks are just syrupy mixed drinks everywhere else at every bar and restaurant - very disgusting and you can taste the difference - Breakfast offers only 4 different types of sausage, no warm milk, no tasteless yogurt, no cream cheese: the same every day - Lunch and dinner very often very cold, unappetizing, ready mixes, meat tough, almost no variety in the selection despite theme nights and much (especially sweetness) not written - you have to guess what it is - Rooms: very old and old. I was disgusted by the bath. Apart from everything being old, worn, broken etc, after cleaning it was still with the hair from going to the toilet or in the shower, the mirror full of stains etc. The exterior door is pure decoration - you can hear everything outside. Generally very noisy the rooms. Extremely loud music until at least 11 pm and afterwards loud screaming and laughing from other guests until 1 am - impossible to go to sleep in peace. - Cleaning: after tip the cleaning is a bit better in the room, otherwise very half-hearted; highlight: on the penultimate day the shampoo bottle was stretched with water by the cleaning lady, instead of refilled. Just ridiculous. - Beach: as beautiful as the beach may be from the sand (but again nothing special) is as absurd the fact that they picked the loungers together as in a sardine can. Between the sunbeds there is maybe 50cm to the next pair of space and the umbrellas are much too small. If you want to take one of the larger beds in the front row, you have to pay 25 Eur per day and get a fruit plate for it, which we then thankfully declined several times because not delicious. - Stink: Walking towards the restaurant, it always smelled extremely of sewerage, which was very borderline. - Towels: they are also very worn and you get a maximum of 1 towel for the beach per person. These must be exchanged in the spa and it is located at the very other end of the beach - nicely hidden. You get the feeling that you want to make it harder for the guests so that they don't change the towel every day. There you have to give the room number every time so that they check how often you go to exchange. The staff at the spa (which is not directly obvious to the hotel, by the way) is usually asleep when you get there. There is a sauna that you can use, but you have to register in advance and then they still forget to turn on the sauna and you then sit in a 30 degree "hot" sauna.
For the price anyway a bust - no 5 hotels, maximum 3.

I stayed at this 5-star hotel for a week in August and, although the experience was overall pleasant, there were several aspects that puzzled me, especially considering the category of the hotel.
Let's start with the positive points: the structure is undoubtedly beautiful and well maintained. Cleanliness is impeccable in both common areas and rooms, and the beach, although with pebbles on the shoreline in some places, is well maintained and the sea is clean.
However, there are several details that do not live up to expectations for a hotel of this level. Our room had a step in the middle of the floor that, in addition to being aesthetically questionable, looks dangerous, especially at night. The beds for the boys were decidedly small and uncomfortable, and the bathroom, although functional, was too small and the shower leaked water, flooding the floor every time it was used.
The food on offer was varied, but the quality was fluctuating. Some dishes were good, while others left much to be desired, which I would have expected to avoid in a five-star hotel.
The animation was one of the most disappointing points. For older kids it was practically non-existent, with little initiative and little involvement. The only positive note was the presence of a supervisor with more experience, who with his professionalism managed to improve the situation. The evening shows, unfortunately, were boring and uninspired.
Another sore point concerns the beach towel service: the change at 10 am is too late, considering that many guests go to the beach already before that time, and at 6 pm it is definitely too early to end the day. In addition, the location of the service, away from the beach, is uncomfortable. Activities such as beach volleyball are missing and the padel court was impractical, a real shame.
Finally, the proposed excursions were interesting and well organized, but the excessive distance of the destinations made the journey often exhausting.
In conclusion, the hotel has many strengths, but there are several aspects to improve to justify the five stars. Greater attention to detail and services could make a big difference to the overall experience.

Mainly German clientele with strict schedule control. Buffets only, worthy of a canteen and no restaurant. Minimalist table service. The food is basic without being varied and no originality in the preparations. Spaghetti presented in a pan and dried. Same raw vegetables served daily and unripe fruit. We are selling you dreams at a prohibitive price. The same goes for alcoholic beverages. Undrinkable and acidic table wines, we have rarely seen such wines! Most bar staff don't know how to make cocktails. No service around the pool and at the beach, you have to go and help yourself! As for the buffets, we serve you the same thing the next day. The late breakfast is ridiculous, no fruit and there are leftovers from the previous one. However, the beach bar employees are very friendly and responsive. Thank you to the French-speaking facilitator who worked hard to make our child's stay pleasant. As for the swimming pool, tiny for a hotel of this capacity, the clientele, mainly German, monopolize the deck chairs from dawn and there are no more places available. The water in our shared private swimming pool on the ground floor was loaded with dirt on the surface (see photo). In terms of rooms, the poor housekeepers, who are insufficient in number, finish service around 3:00 p.m. Wake up every morning at 7:00 a.m. due to lack of soundproofing in the room on the upper floor. Regarding the reception manager, informed of our grievances regarding the absence of deck chairs at the main swimming pool, she was totally insensitive. It must be said that she is as friendly as a prison door. In the evening, from 7:00 p.m., you will have the privilege of smelling the smell of sewage near the rooms and buffets. Everything is thought of economically in this establishment and all the services are unworthy of a 5 star! Finally, the responsible manager in a tie and who spins like a propeller would do well to do his job...

this review should be read by the resort property and not by the professional lady sitting in reception behind the trip advisory awards frame desk or by the friendly help desks at reception. this review in a very honest way wants to give an opinion on 7 days spent by me and my family in this 5 star hotel. there is a lot and a lot to improve. 5 stars does not mean being ready with a restaurant that is always open (even at night) if the choice of dishes (many) is exactly the same every lunch and dinner, in any restaurant you go to, also open bar does not mean good choice. the themed dinner organized in the dedicated restaurant or on the beach is nothing more than the revival of some dishes that you already find in the central restaurant every day. zero coordination (you see it from the little things); missing a Resort Manager who works as a watchdog; you cannot start cutting the gardens and not complete the work at least in the most crowded areas in the same period /day, same is for the sand, rakes it all, not just the piece in front of showers and beach bars; inconsistencies not worthy of 5 stars) you cannot have the rooms not cleaned and then for a mistake (room 144 day 30/08) not be ready to send someone to perform the service cleaning in the room and at 10:30 pm (was still not cleaned yet from the same morning / afternoon)forced that poor lady at the reception to put on her gloves and come and clean the room as best as possible (there is no excuse, many people, many arrivals, many departures), many people are always there all days, all weeks, all months. it is not acceptable. the staff at work are delightful, they go out of their way and try to do their best. I repeat, there is no real coordinator who works as a watchdog. I keep saying that arrival information such as booking compulsory themed dinners or booking gazebos on the beach do not tell you and you only realize the last 2 days of vacation that you are there or we are take opportunities (they are small things but done well they make the difference between a 3 or 4 star). there is no organization, you are open in the structure and you manage (seeing is believing). It will always go well here because the planes will always arrive, the autobus will always be full but a lone tourist who does not fly on a charter here will never come there independently; believe me. I would prefer if possible not to receive any comments on this post from the resort. it would be useless to say that we were unlucky, which happens in a moment of so many people, change of period, change of season, etc .. I personally do 2 vacation trips W.W. a year for more than 15 years I confirm that I will never return here. my experience says that the money they ask for is not worth the proposed quality (don't just look at the positive side of the coin, in front of the money spent in a 5 star hotel you have to be sure).

Response from Saskia Kanelopoulos, Guest Services / Front Office at Mythos Palace Resort & Spa
Responded Sep 2, 2022
Dear valued guest, Thank you for choosing the Mythos Palace for your holiday and for taking the time afterwards to write a feedback about our hotel. Unfortunately, the wording of your feedback is somewhat incomprehensible, and we cannot fully understand why we did not meet your expectations. It is a great pity that you did not inform us about the points you mentioned during your week's stay. Our reception had only the information that the housekeeping didn't get into your room one day, because you had the “do not disturb” card on the door and you informed us in the afternoon that you need the cleaning service and after that we did the service directly. Unfortunately, we were not able to convince you of our house and hope to be able to convince you of our host qualities again in the future. With kind regards Saskia Guest Service Department Mythos Palace Resort & Spa

The hotel was amazing. The strongest points were the staff and the attention to details (rooms, bathrooms, restaurant). It felt very relaxing for us that the resort is a little bit smaller than others were we went in the past and has a very good organization: no "fighting" for a sunbed, even at 11 o'clock, no rush at the restaurant. The beach is very nice, sandy and has an easy sea acces. Some of the drinks are quality products for an all inclusive offer. Like a suggestion, but not a bad review, maybe more variety (especially at lunch) of the meals will raise the food services at the same level with the other services that the hotel has.

My recent holiday at Mythos Palace Resort & Spa was truly unforgettable. This is a luxury hotel located on a picturesque coastline, where every corner is imbued with care and attention to guests.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm smile and impeccable service. The staff were extremely helpful and helpful, making our stay as comfortable as possible.
One of the main highlights of the hotel is its excellent cuisine. Numerous restaurants serve delicious dishes that can satisfy even the most demanding gourmets. We especially enjoyed the fresh seafood and traditional Greek delicacies.
For our three-year-old daughter, the hotel turned out to be a real paradise. The kids' club offered a variety of exciting activities and games, ensuring that there was never a dull moment. The entertainers were friendly and professional, ensuring our children had a fun and safe time.
My husband and I were also able to enjoy some well-deserved rest by taking advantage of the hotel's spa services. The massage and facial were simply divine, leaving us completely relaxed and refreshed.
The hotel is located on a stunning coastline with crystal clear waters and soft golden sand. There were always enough sun loungers and umbrellas for all guests, allowing us to enjoy the sun and sea without worry.
In addition to the beautiful beach, the hotel offers many other amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center and tennis courts.
Our stay at Mythos Palace Resort & Spa exceeded all our expectations. This is a real oasis of luxury and comfort, where every member of our family found something for themselves. We look forward to returning to this piece of paradise in the future.

My wife and I visited in early October for 10 days. We have been to various AI hotels across Europe and the Caribbean and this hotel rates as one of the best we have stayed in. Our room (206) was a pool view and was immaculate when we arrived. a fully stocked mini fridge, tea / coffee in the room. Beach towels, robes, toiletries all provided as well as 2 reusable water bottles and a beach bag, a good move to reduce plastic waste. The food and drinks are of a very high quality. The antikrist evening at the beach restaurant was excellent, highly recommended. the speciality restaurant evenings are also great. The staff were amazing, so friendly especially Nikos and Manilos at the main bar. Such good fun in the evenings chatting with them. The beach was lovely, lots of sunbeds and no one rushing out to place towels. The beach bar was so close and welcome sanctuary from the sun at times. We would definitely recommend this hotel, and would look to come back.

Kalispera, yes Georgioupolis is around 4km from our hotel and you can have a nice walk/run along the beach to get there. There is also a path you can take next to the national road. By taxi it takes takes around 10min.
